I get really good compliments about my naturally curly hair! wala pang 1 year kong fino-flaunt to kasi almost 7 years akong regularly nagpapastraight ng hair ko. I got tired of going to salon every 4-6 months. at ang pangit at ang hassle pag lumalabas na yung kulot so i decided to go natural na! and wow naman ang daming compliments. laging tanong, nagpakulot ka ba?

I use conditioner to clean my scalp and hair. doesn't give me dandruff if I massage and rinse it really well.
I don't brush my hair. my hair is medium length anyway kaya di nagta-tangle.

my type of curls is like between wavy and curly. parang "curling iron" curls... and i like it.

I use leave-on conditioners EVERYDAY and the ever so famous: Monea milk. then I scrunch the ends.

trust me on this sis, you still need to shampoo. shampoo has only one job - to cleanse. it gets rid of all the dirt, perspiration, oils, impurities and most importantly product build ups. do you know that these  build ups in the long run is taxing on your hair follicles? and when you don't take good care of these hair follicles it can lead to serious problems like alopecia (hairloss),  folliculitis, etc.

now it's the conditioner's job to coat the hair with lustre, softness and moisture, and bring it back to a slightly acidic ph level (since shampoo is a bit alkaline). the proper use of conditioner is to apply it on midlengths or for reference below the earline, not directly on scalp, and all the way to the ends.

^^ I agree sis.. and based sa napanood ko before, skipping shampoo contributes to hairfall..

^^ ganun hair ko now. Yung nasa ilalim and harap (as in sa bangs) lang yung curly. Everything else straight pa. Im wondering tuloy if tumutubo pa hair ko. Lol. Do hair growers work? Supplements ganyan.

Whew! Kakatapos ko palang magbackread. Thank you everyone for this thread. Marami akong natutunang tips. Pinatubo ko na yung hair ko and I am having a haircut today. Hopefully sana maayos ang cut :)

shampooing is definitely a must. i feel really weird if i just shower without shampooing. my head/hair feels sticky and i really hate the feeling. i tried using a lot of different shampoos also. sunsilk lang ata ang hiyang sa akin. i use conditioner every 3 days. tamad kasi ako hintayin yung 5min hehe.

Grabe mga sis..ako din! :'(

hmm... after reading your posts here parang medyo naiisip ko, ako din kaya, what if i just keep my natural hair? my hair is between naturally wavy to curly.. i'm planning to have my hair rebonded again.. so far sa lifetime ko (i'm turning 25 this november), 4 times pa lang naman ako nagpaparebond -- yearly ata for the past 4 years... not that inaabot ng 1 yr yun rebond ko,.. i tie my hair in pony kapag super halata na ang sumpa! kaso kasi, makapal hair ko, buhaghag sya talaga kaya hesitant talaga ko ikeep yun natural curls/waves ko.. nong bata naman ako straight hair ko (kita ko sa pics ko) ewan ko ba kung bakit naging ganito... dry sya, tpos buhaghag  :'(

sa mga transitioning from rebonded hair to naturally curly:

what i did was twist my hair and put it into a bun or try braids. that's what i did before. wash ng hair sa gabi, lagay ng styling gel, air dry, then ibbraid ko sya. sleep ako na nakabraid yung hair.  sa morning, kulot na yung hair ko. :) i did get compliments sa kasabay ko sa jeep from doing this. san daw ako nagpakulot kasi ganda daw ng hair ko. 8)

Let me just share this website with all of you curly girls out there: http://www.naturallycurly.com/

Marami siyang tips on taking care of curly hair and meron din section for those transitioning from relaxed / rebonded to naturally curly!

Ako naman, I used to have my hair straightened chemically all the time kasi palagi buhaghag hair ko, but I stopped and decided to just let my hair be natural. Mahirap nga at the start, palagi nakatali buhok ko kasi half-straight, half-kulot until I decided to just get all the straight ends cut off. I dragged a friend with me to the salon for moral support. Haha!

Now, I shampoo only every other day and use conditioner everyday para hindi ma-dry out hair ko. I also use gel mixed with a little conditioner while my hair is still wet in the morning para hindi siya mag-frizz masyado. :)

yung hair ko medyo may pagka kinky pa. Simula 2nd hs nagpapa relax/straight/rebond ako every 6-8mos. last january 2011 nag try ako magpa digiperm. Mas ok sakin. kasi kapag rebond after ilang weeks yung tumutubo kulot na ulit. Plan ko ulit magpa perm this march. medyo pinahahaba ko pa yung buhok ko

@ sis greenwood05, I haven't found a leave in conditioner that I like yet, so I just use my normal conditioner (Human Heart Nature Moisturizing conditioner) to mix with my gel.
