how to get an ITR para sa mga homebased ang work?
« on: February 08, 2010, 10:19:31 am »

Homebased worker ako and as we know naman kapag homebased or online jobs wala tax, so pano tayo makakakuha ng itr para makaavail din tayo ng mga benefits like pag-ibig funds, sss, credit cards etc.
Specially credits cards kailangan nila ng ITR.

If may alam pakishare naman po.

^voluntary tax. Yan ang ginawa ko dati. Although fun naman na you don't need to pay tax, kaso nagvoluntary ako kasi there are other stuff na I need to apply that needs ITR. Like credit card, or if bibili ng car, ganun..

Someone reply naman how to do voluntary tax.  Do we have to declare what we're earning from?  How much naman do we have to pay monthly?  Yearly?  Thanks.

Kaso ang tanong is PAANO?

tanong ko din ito. freelance writer ako for a PR agency. hindi fix yung income kasi hindi naman every day nagpapasulat. tapos yung payment hindi din monthly, minsan nagiging 2 months.  pano kaya ako makakapag file ng ITR, i mean, pano ko icompute, since wala namang akong resibo? my payment is deposited in my bank account naman.  may TIN ako (i used to work for an NGO) pero i don't know how to compute yung sa ITR ko.

actually paying BIR tax (then eventually getting the ITR) is required, not optional or voluntary as I've read in some of the earlier posts here. It's the the BIR tax code.

honesty lang kasi ang umiiral lang ngayon when paying taxes when it comes to homebased workers or freelancers.

i'm a freelancer who works from home.

if you have been employed before, you can just continue paying your SSS, PAGIBIG and Philhealth as self-employed individuals. I did this and there's no need to present an ITR for these three. Ito ang mga una kong inayos before the BIR.

I'm not sure for those whose first job is being a freelancer. But I still believe you can start paying those SSS, Pagibig ang Philhealth before being issued an ITR (like those who were employed in companies for the first time). Matagal pa rin kasing panahon bago magka-ITR (mga one year)

So how was I able to get an ITR?

I just went to BIR, and found their customer service (I forgot how they term that one). I simply explained my situation that I'm a freelancer and I earn by projects (so there's no fixed income here). They will determine on which particular type of taxes that you will pay (in my case, it was a monthly percentage tax, a quarterly income tax for three quarters, and an annual income tax).

Since I am project-based, I just pay taxes when I have income for the month. I pay NO tax when there's no income. However, I HAVE TO FILE those tax returns even if I don't have any income for the month (to avoid the P1000 charge on non-filing) - anyway I don't have to pay anything when there's no income.

BIR gives out seminars in our place (every Friday, it's mandatory), and the BIR officer is always present to help us out in filling out those books and forms. It's best to consult with them on how to compute for those taxes.

ilang months na ako into payment. in more ways than one advantageous pa rin ang nag-fafile sa BIR kaysa wala.

to all sisses, you need to prepare your own ITR and file and pay to BIR - on the RDO where you are registered.

For april 2012 filing, may bago na format ng ITR- BIR Form 1700, 1701 and 1702.
