sis, with skin asthma, i suggest going to an allergologist-immunologist rather than a dermathologist. kasi yung derma, sa panlabas lang. while allergo, talagang ma-track what's the cause and what's the cure.. may baby kasi had this , atopic, seborrheic, and skin asthma... we've gone to 2 pedias, 1 derma and the last is an allergo. iyong mga nireseta niya lang ang tumalab. ang galing talaga.

Allergologist - Immunologist deal with allergies and immunologic issues of the whole body while dermatologists deal with diseases of the skin.


Allergologist - Immunologist now ang pedia ng baby ko, sa kanya ako nagpapacheck lalo na yung ubo ng baby ko na madalas antibiotic ang bigay dahil may hika daw ang baby ko. Pero sabi ni  dra arlene hindi pa consider as hika dahil wala pang 2yrs old baby ko at hindi pa nabibigal lahat ng test even na may history sa both family, at kung meron man, pwede pang ma prevent. and si dra arlene lang ang hindi nagbigay ng antibiotic sa akin.

Sabi nila kung may hika si baby magkakaroon din daw siya ng skin asthma (di ko natanong ke dra to, nawala sa isip ko, tanungin ko next visit namin)

Noong baby pa anak ko may lumabas na red mark na butlig sa tummy part niya, ang sabi ng pedia skin asthma dahil may history sa family, even sa 2nd 3rd 4th opinion ganoon parin ang sabi because of family history, at umabot ako ng halos 3k sa 1week na gamutan  . pero nalaman ko na allergic siya sa garter ng short, pero now na 18mos old na baby ko kahit may garter ang short niya or pantalon hindi na lumalabas ang butlig na yun so meaning hindi siya skin asthma. Nataon lang na lumabas yun noon, pero hindi na naulit, alam ko kasi sa skin asthma nauulit even lumaki na

my baby was also diagnosed to have skin asthma when he was 6mos old.  our pedia referred us to a derma.  the derma prescribed oilatum or cetaphil bar for his soap and physiogel for lotion.  the physiogel lotion can be applied as often sa affected areas.  kelangan lang maagapan or else magsusugat nga sa kakakamot ni baby.  he's now 2y/o but never pang bumalik ang ganong red spots/rashes nya sa skin  (arms and tummy area).  we were also asked pala to use perla soap for his clothes and anti bac fabric conditioner for his clothes.  wag daw super scented na soaps and always iron his clothes after laundry.

Thank God nawala ang skin asthma ng son ko for now. Alaga lang dapat talaga kasi super sensitive ng skin nya. I'm using Aveeno skin relief body wash and lotion as maintenance, pag may sugat naglalanggas sya ng dextrose then fucidin and dermovate cream. Sana wag na bumalik kasi kawawa na ang son tadtad nya sya ng tukso sa school.

my baby has skin asthma too, diagnosed when he was 6 months old..the derma advised us to use unscented cleansers like cetaphil plus physiogel AI cream for the rashes and physiogel lotion to keep his skin moisturized...fortunately, nawala agad rashes ng baby ko, so until now yun pa din gamit nya...good thing tho na mild form lang daw yung skin asthma ni baby and no need for medications...accdg to pedia, if skin asthma occured during the early age, there is a chance na ma-outgrow pa, so hopefully mawala na talaga.

,our baby has skin asthma too, namana niya sa side namin.. we haven't consulted an allergologist yet, his pedia is dr. chen pero hindi pa naman niya inadvise na magpacheck si baby sa isang allergo, can you please recommend one sa makati area. we're using cetaphil restoraderm wash and oasis voco cream for moisturizing his skin. before we use physiogel pero wa epek, nakakatrigger din ng rashes niya ang aveeno..

Lately inatake na naman kami ng mga anak ko ng Skin Asthma.. Sobra hirap kasi kahit tulog kamot ng kamot bunso ko pati ako.. Hirap naman puro dermovate, nakakasunog din ng balat.. What i did, applied VCO before maligo siguro mga 15mins then soap ko un Dove for sensitive skin.. Habang damp pa skin ko apply naman ng Jergens Ultra Healing Lotion.. So far 3days pa lang, nawala na un pangangati at dryness ng skin ko..

my baby uses cetaphil restoraderm body soap and lotion. effective. yan lang ang naging effective sakaniya/ and highly recommended ng allergologist .

Mga sis, may rashes mga kids ko in specific areas lang siya. Lahat sila may skin asthma, at may hika rin... We were prescribed with Desowen. At first umepekto siya, tapos after 2 weeks nagbalikan nanaman. Bumabalik [textspeak!] mga rashes pag pinag-papawisan sila at pag nasstress. Bakit ganun?

may ivory caps ba dito sa pinas? san kaya pwedeng bumili?  i'm thinking of taking vitamins E kasi pero baka mas ok ang gluta para pumuti na din. my derma recommended me to use gluta before pero ang mahal..2400 for 30 caps.

ang mahal ng nagastos ko for the treatment of my skin asthma. nag-ok for a certain period. pero ganun na ulit ngayon. hay...

my son too has skin asthma.
last year hindi ko masyadong pinansin kasi sa Legs lang,
pero this year nagkaroon ulit sa nose tapos ang bilis kumalat,
akala mo binugbog, anyway i went to a pedia allergo yesterday she said the bacteria na caused ng skin asthma is very aggressive daw mabilis kumalat, kaya if napabayaan baka magspread sa internal organs. (natakot talaga ako)
kasi sa case ng son ko, 1week lang it started with a small gasgas, ngaun buong nose meron na sugat,


ang hirap pang lagyan ng gamot kasi ayaw niya,
some parts of his body meron parang small bulutong like wounds.

ito ang line up ng meds niya:

Fusicort cream (antibacterial narin ito at the same time corticosteriod)
- 2weeks 2x a day

- cefalexin
- allerkid
- need inebulize 3x a day 2.5ml ng ventolin.
- lukewarm water and cethapil, physiogel or oilatum for bath.
- dermablend oatmeal lotion, aveeno or cetaphil lotion.

sana nga maging ok na siya, nakakawa naman, laging iritable. feeling ko trigger ang  weather shift  kasi same month last year din siya nag kaganito.

kung pwede ako nalang sana wag nalang siya

My baby who is 3weeks old now has Atopic Dermatitis. I'm not sure if parehas lang yun sa Skin Asthma but nakakaaffect ba ang kinakain ng mother if nagbbreastfeed siya?

my son also uses aveeno oatmeal ilang months na din niya gamit ok naman. Nagtanong ako sa mustela one time about there products mas maganda daw sila kasi wala daw silang preservatives like sa aveeno.  ewan ko lang kung totoo ba yung sinasabi nila. Our allergologist recommended corticosteroidal cream pero di ko na binili yung oatmeal lotion lang nawala naman agad.

Mga sis, can you recommend a good allergologist, preferrably sa q.c. area?

Pwede na ba ipatingin ang 1month old na baby? Gusto ko kasi malaman na agad kung ano nagttrigger sa Skin Asthma/Atopic Dermatitis ng baby ko para maiwasan na namin agad. Kawawa naman kasi siya. Anong tests ang gagawin and magkano bayad? TIA
