Hi mga sis, sharing lang...

I have skin asthma since 13 years old.  Lahat ng klaseng derma napuntahan kona.. light therapy, steroid injections, different ointments, etc.  Maintenance lang ang naka help... meaning, maliit na butlig or sign pa lang... ointment na agad linalagay ko.

The only remedy that worked for me is yung kay Nellie Yu na ointment.

Ngayon, yung 1 year old baby girl ko nag ka skin asthma, but since dapat maagapan in a small sign pa lang, nag plan na ako na dalhin agad sa derma.

But after a few days.. lumaki na agad.. mga sing laki ng .5 cents na agad!  Sa totoo lang, nagulat ako... ayaw ko lagyan nung ointment ko (but I'm tempted) but then, takot ako since baby siya.  During that time, nag ka sipon siya.  I normally put in Sterimar sa nose pag may sipon.  Nagulat ako!!! Nawala yung skin asthma sa cheeks niya after mga 2 days na 2x ako naglalagay ng Sterimar.

Sterimar (baby version) is safe for babies... It's like Salinase but spray type and mas hygenic.  It is just sea water.  So, in summary... I think sea water will heal skin asthma, the same way when may skn asthma outbreak ako... it dries up right away.

Sis Redwoods, I also use Dove Unscented for myself and baby since meron kaming skin asthma.  Yun talaga ang most effective.

South din ako, meron niyan sa Puregold and SM Southmall.

Pero if possible, mas maganda yung bilhin mo yung imported.  Meron na kasing mga local pero iba pa din talaga ang imported na quality, based on my experience.

Minsan nagpapadala abroad ng Dove Baby which is good din.

iceebaby did you spray sterimar sa affected area?hehe medjo lito lang ako. Gumagamit din ako niyan sa baby ko dati i think 800 ata yun bottle noh? Para sa allergic rhinits niya. Pero when you used it nawala yung sa cheeks niya? baka malessen ang reactions sa body niya if ever gamitin ko uli??

Sis lilsaintsmom, Ganun din ako noon when I used sterimar.  Kasi may rhinitis din ang baby ko (common, like me pag may skin asthma).

Natural lang naman ang sterimar.  You can actually use it everyday (max of 6 sprays per day).  Although, hindi naman talaga siya for skin asthma pero, It just worked on my baby's skin asthma (which nasa cheeks nung time na yun).  Nalalagyan ng sterimar kasi yung cheeks niya nung linalagay ko sa nose.  After a few days, nawala yung skin asthma.

When I read about Sterimar, it is sea water.  After a few days (w/o sterimar pero may small dot pa din na skin asthma si baby)... lumaki ulit.  After a few days, nag ka rhinitis ulit then nag sterimar ulit ako and nawala na totally.  Now, flawless na face ni baby kaya in my case, I attributed it to Sterimar.

Sea salt kasi dries up wounds even skin asthma (for me).  The Sterimar, if you wish to do it.  Baka you can spray lang on a cotton ball, then apply on the affected area.

Natural yun, it's just basicaly sea water (na purified pa).  It's just like putting beach water on baby's skin only purer.

Here's what it says about Sterimar (I am not saying it will definitely work... but for me, natural is a lot better for babies.  Medicines are not at all safe and effective all the time.  But you might also ask your derma or pedia if you're really not sure.  But, for me... it was effective and I'll definitely use it if there's another break out):

^^ sis pag gamit mo ba yung dove unscented, sa katawan lang ni baby o pati sa hair? o iba ang gamit mo sa hair? i'll check sa puregold dito malapit sa amin. I checked sa MOA hypermart kaso wala eh.

Sa hair sis, I use the Nivea Gentle Head to Toe Wash.

But, if super frustrating na ang skin asthma ni baby, you can try to bring her sa Derma.  I highly recommend Dr. Jonathan or Dra. Nellie Yu.

They make their own medicine specifically for skin asthma and other skin problems.  Pag pasok ko palang, si Dr. Jonathan kita agad ang problem ko! haha! Then, sinabihan ako not to scratch it or else isteroid na niya ako (which is super sakit! kaya ayaw ko). 

Tagal na akong may skin asthma (since I'm 13) and kay Nellie Yu lang yung pinaka nag work talaga.

Just prepare around P500 for the PF and around P1,000 for the meds.  But, matagalan yung gamit nun.  Yung sakin nauubos ko for 1 year since pag nawala na stop na din ng lagay.

Mga mommies, I guess you also don't use baby powder noh? Kasi nat-trigger yung sipon/rhinitis ng bata eh.. kaso dilemma ko super pawisin anak ko.. what do you do? palit lang ng palit ng shirt?

Hi Sis, pawisin din ang mga anak ko.  Kahit naka aircon esp pag malalim ang sleep, pinapawisan.  Sa panganay ko na 6 na ngayon, nag popowder pa din.

Wag lang naman mala-espasol pag gumamit ng powder and super minimal lang talaga.  Kahit naman ako, nababahing sa powder e.

But, I would rather use yung Talc JnJ powder than the Cornstarch.  Cornstarch can aggravate yeast infection kasi and laging may nag bubuo buo when I use it for the kids.  Also, I don't put powder on diaper area (esp for my girls) kasi there was a study, it might cause naman ovarian cancer (well, kami naman noon... ang mga nanay e budbod ng powder, diba?).  But, di pa yung study na yun final and wala naman talaga pang basis yung findings ng mga researchers.

But, saying that Talcum is cancerous was debunked.

Pero, powder doesn't help at all with Skin Asthma.  Aveeno on baby's skin and Petroleum Jelly on Baby's bottom para may moisture ang skin is better.

is aveeno really effective too? ano to? lotion ba to or something? made me curious to buy. will check with my baby's pedia tomorrow kasi super frustrated na ako sa noo ng baby ko. may white spots tapos though may cream na nilalagay, may dry skin na naman sa bandang kilay. hay..

ang sinasabi lang ng parents ko, na we need to go to the beach. ganun kasi ginagawa lang namin ng dad ko mga ilang araw na pabalik balik sa dagat. then mawawala na....

went to my baby's pedia last saturday and she said na kusang nawawala daw ang white spots. super lamig lang daw kasi ngayon kaya ganun. she recommended to use oilatum bar instead of cetaphil and dove baby. i opened up to her about the options kasi nga sa nababasa ko dito sa gt. sabi niya na wag din daw lagyan ng lotion at powder si baby as much as possible kasi baka lalong lumalala ang skin asthma. hindi ko naman talaga nilalagyan ng powder and lotion kasi amoy baby pa naman siya. so far, i like oilatum. in fairness, nagiging fair na yung white spots compared to last week.
