IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) - is it effective?

Hi,

I just want to ask if there's anyone who has tried this IPL? How was it? Are the results visible and longlasting?

Because my derma recommended me to undergo this procedure for 6 sessions.. I want to try it because i have lots of pigmentation on my face due to pimples (i am currently taking isotretinoin and my derma said it is ok to have IPL while taking it) but I don't know if it will have visible results. 

And does it really remove hair?

Yes it is effective, temporary hair removal in the area treated is a common side effect if the machine setting is inteneded for pigmentation.  In other clinics IPL is used for hair removal (though ang IPL machine hindi maganda for hair removal gnagamit sya ng ibang derma kasi they want an all in 1 machine)

kung mukang mababaw lang yung pigmentation..... effective
careful lang kung morena ka.... baka ma burn
just make sure na well trained ang gagawa ng procedure.

iba iba ang setting or fluence pag hair removal at for rejuvenation/depigmentation

clarify ko lang ha, by pigmentation you mean dark spots where pimples used to be? no freckles or sunspots?

my previous dermatologist does not like doing ipl and lasers. she's kind of old school. re pimple marks, what she recommended was a gradual low-grade chemical peel.

Depende sa setting, if you want to concentrate in rejuvenation or you want to get rid/lighten discolorations.

ipl?not really i tried [textspeak!] sa godiva skin station...i finished 6 sessions,bali nging ms mbgal [textspeak!] [textspeak!] pgtubo ng hair..but in terms of [textspeak!] kapal ng strands (kc [textspeak!] nila once u undergo dw e, pgtubo ng hair prang balahibo nlng sya..) as is prin cya...frustrating for me... kc pinagipunan ko un eh..ive consulted a derma dpat di dw ginagamit un sa hair removal kc nga mtaas ang possibility na mgburn [textspeak!] area...

my friend tried IPl for the removal of brown birthmarks.  disaster ang result.  her upper arm looked like that of a zebra skin.  naging brown and white. yung dinaanan ng ipl pumuti at di nagpantay sa morena skin niya.  it took 7 years before nagpantay ang skin niya.

mine kasi is IPL for the face lang pimple marks, freckles
i think it depends on what area  face/body better to call Caraderme and book an appointment with Dra Gatmaytan

I was offered by slimmers world IPL for underarm, 6 sessions i think parang 23k, basta 3k+ per month for 6mos. Is is really effective?
