Hi mga sis,

I went through this thread and came up with this step by step procedure based on people's experiences. We'll try this when I give birth, because I really need an NSO copy of the birth certificate to get a citizenship form and temporary passport for my daughter (hubby is Canadian).

Good luck to those who need to go through this process! I'll post again if this works.

1. Get copy of birth certificate from hospital records, may take up to two weeks. (make sure all details are correct)
2.  Bring to the city hall to get a certified true copy.
3. Find out if civil registry or city hall can expedite sending the docs to NSO. (Prepare to pay a fee)
4. After one month, go to Archives of NSO – to hasten the digitizing of the document. Expect long lines and may need to pay a fee.

I will give birth in March and my son's dad will be coming to Manila sometime in June/July pa. He's an American citizen, I met him while I was working in the US. But I'm based in MNL at the moment. We're not married yet since we're waiting for him to graduate before we tie the knot. Ang problema he can't come here for the birth since he'll have school then and it would be a waste of money if we buy a ticket when I'm about to give birth just so he could sign the birth certificate. Tapos ilang days rin lang siya dito kasi may school pa siya. So we're aiming for summer break para mas matagal din niya makasama si baby.

Ang balak ko is to make him sign the Affidavit of Parentage, Physical Presence and Support (DS 5507) and have it notarized there sa US tapos ipadala na lang dito thru courier. Bali, yun gagamitin ko as my affidavit of recognition. Parang iffy kasi ako na ipadala sa kanya yung birth certificate mismo tapos mag sign siya sa likod...baka i-question pa nila sa civil registry since hindi siya Pinoy. I've read na may nakagawa na ng ganun. But I'm curious if the civil registry will allow this if the husband/baby daddy is not Filipino and isn't an OFW?

We're planning to get a Consular Report of Birth Abroad when my bf comes here to validate my son's US citizenship. Hopefully, we are going to apply for a US Passport na rin immediately after approval. Pero the US Embassy needs an NSO certified Birth Certificate. Kaya nag-woworry ako. Di pwedeng 6 months ang antayin ko para lang doon since tight ang time frame ni bf. Although pwede naman na ako lang mag-isa ang mag-apply if I get all the papers needed from my bf...Mas mainam pa din na nandito siya for the interview diba.

If ever mang pwede, signature lang ba sa likod ng birth certificate ang kailangan? Or does it need to be notarized din?

Hi sis. Sa case ng Ate ko, signature lang, tapos nagpadala yung father ng photocopy ng passport niya. Wala naman questions sa civil registry dito sa atin.

Yung sa NSO copy ng birth certificate, pwede mo nga i-request ng mas maaga yun, ready ka lang ng additional fees.

Sa CRBA, mas maganda nga na kasama mo si bf mo, kasi sa case ng Ate ko, siya lang ang nag-asikaso, hindi nainterview yung father kaya binigyan ng option ng DNA testing. Sa ngayon, hinayaan na lang nila matapos yung case, hindi na-approved. Magre-apply na lang daw sila ulit.

Lahat po ba ng city hall nagaallow ng expedite to NSO? We also need our baby's NSO copy once I give birth in April for our pending visa application. Quezon City hall po most likely ang registration ni baby. Has anyone experienced this with QC hall?

i would just like to ask kung saang civil registry nag submit ng documents yung sister mo? Sa munisipyo where she gave birth or the Manila branch? Kasi I read sa RA 9255 na pag galing abroad yung acknowledgment of paternity, kailangan sa Manila i submit. Ganun ba ginawa ng ate mo?

Also, yung partner ng ate mo, is he an American citizen from birth? I just ask kasi I'm concerned if the father's surname is foreign-sounding, baka biglang mag raise ng questions yung civil registry at humingi ng kung ano anong documents na na notarize/authenticate/with red ribbon seal na document galing sa Philippine consulate abroad.

^Dito rin sa province, dito rin siya nanganak.
Yes sis, 100% American siya, kaya yung pamangkin ko, kanong-kano talaga. Clarify ko lang sis, pina-notarized pala sa US nung father  yung birth certificate (acknowledgement) ni baby tapos pinadala ulit dito, saka i-file sa local civil registry.

^ Thank you for replying! Last question na lang, did they have it notarized sa kahit anong notary public or sa Philippine consul sa US? Sorry ang kulit ko. Haha Gusto ko lang makarinig galing sa may first hand experience since wala akong ibang matanungan and I'm kinda at a loss of what measures to take. Thank you!

^Palagay ko sis kahit saan, hindi na nagpunta yung father sa Philippine Consul. Basta nung pinadala niya ulit yung documents dito, may pirma na niya at nakaattach yung copy ng passport niya. Check ko ulit mamaya yung birth certificate ng pamangkin ko, hindi ko matandaan kung may seal din yung copy ng passport e..

Hi, If I may, ako rin Male sa NSO birth certificate. I just submitted lahat ng requirements sa munisipyo last month paid around 7k in total waiting nalang ipublish , married kami ni hubby 2008 pa. I started to process this last year nung naamend ang law natin na wala nang court hearing!

So punta ka sa munisipyo (kung san ka pinanganak), bigyan ka nila ng list of requirements to accomplish at how much (this include yung pelvic ultrasound to prove na female ka hehe).
 
Napadaan lang ako dito to know about getting NSO for my 5 month old baby. Ill check din sa other thread ng birth certificate baka makatulong

pano pag hindi married ang parents pero si baby under father's surname at duly acknowledge (like nung pirma pirma sa likod ng birth cert), kelangan ba lagi may approval or sign ni father whenever may need na docs related kay baby? like pagkuha ng passport, etc.

wala pa kasing plan to get married soon. uunahin muna nya ang baby kasi she'll give birth soon (medyo higpit din sila ng sinturon para sa budget ng panganganak)

Humingi ako ng endorsement sa cityhall, saka yung attachments like certified true copy ng annotated at unannotated birth certificate ng anak ko, affidavits, etc. Tapos pinadala ko lang sa lbc since dito ako sa province nakatira. Bumili rin pala ako ng prepaid pouch sa lbc para sa pagdeliver na ng copy ko. 1 month ang processing kasi iverify pa nila kung valid ang kasal ninyo. Ang masaklap lang, 2 copies ang nirequest at binayaran ko pero 1 lang ang pinadala nila.

I just got my daughter's NSO. Pina deliver ko nalang.6 months  na yung baby ko nung nakuha ko siya sa NSO.

With my first son, I got a copy of his NSO birth cert when he was 4mos.  Pasig city hall naka-register.  Hopefully, same waiting time din for my 2nd son so I can apply his passport then US visa after.

Hi mga sis.. Tanong ko lang kung may may mabilis na paraan para makakuha agad ang mother ko ng birth certificate mula sa NSO. Late registered kase si mother recently lang at ang sabi sa province kung saan sya ipinanganak at nag file ng late registration ay ONE YEAR daw bago makakuha ng NSO copy.. Totoo ba ito?

Yung husband ng friend ko may kabit and worst nag kaanak pa.
She wanted to get the NSO Birth Cert ng Bata for her case ( i dunno specific pero may on going case).
Meron ba dito nakakaalam pano pwede makuha yung Birth Cert ng Bata sa NSO ng hindi nalalaman ng Husband nya at ng kabit?

ang allowed lang makakuha ng birth certificate ng baby without authorization ay parents ng baby, kapatid or guardian otherwise kelangan ng authorization. kapag naman kumukuha ng birth certificate sa nso, hindi naman ina alarm ng nso ang parents. if your friend can get around this, i guess wala siang problem in getting that birth certificate.

Hi sisses, aside from the father's signature, anong document ang required from the parents for the baby's birth cert registration?  Hihingan ba kami ng birth certs din?  Hindi kami kasal ng father ng baby ko e.
