^ that's the problem, you have to adjust to his palette. my fiance naman eats anything and that i am lucky :)

Hello. I am a newbie here. Ang saya naman at nakita ko itong thread na ito. Just found out about this forum last night while browsing for something else.

I am in a relationship with an American guy. I met him online on a social networking site. He's not my first foreigner boyfriend, and after having my first I can say that I really prefer them over Pinoys. :D
This guy is like a male version of me. :D It is amazing how much we are so alike, in books we read, music we listen to, views on things and we are almost always on the same wavelength. There are times pa na pareho pa kami ng sasabihin at sabay pa ha!

What I like about him is that he's malambing, but not cheesy/mushy. He is a geek :D (love geeks) but not the stereotypical geek(a very manly geek tee hee!). He was an architect and a former US Army. He is straightforward. Sasabihin kung anong gusto which I like very much. He's not maarte, I can bring him to Quiapo and eat fishballs on the streets tee hee!. And yet, he's also at ease in formal settings. And because he's a geek he is super smart which is the first trait that I look for in a man.

Haist.... I am in love....

my american boyfriend doesn't like filipino food. ang kinakain lang niya ay lumpia. :-\ in fairness, he doesn't really like any ethnic cuisine at all. he's not big on soup and noodles and rice daw kasi. talagang american diet lang siya. he eats a lot of steak, chicken, fried stuff. bacon, eggs, tinapay. :(
we're in a domestic partnership at nahihirapan ako kasi i always have to cook something we can both eat. ayaw din niya spaghetti filipino style! he thinks the hotdog is weird.. huhuhu.. he likes my cooking naman but still ang hirap ng kasama na hindi mo man lang maaya kumain sa filipino restaurant.  :( :( :( minsan kasi namimiss ko rin kumain ng pagkaing pinoy at half of the fun of eating is enjoying your meal with someone.

nakakarelate ako sa u sis..sometimes my bf doesnt want to eat pinoy foods din..pero my mga selected pinoy foods na fave nya like fish sinigang, chicken tinola, chicken or pork adobo, grilled or fried fish, yan lang, ayaw na nya [textspeak!] ibang luto and ang pinaka fave nya is our ripe mango superb daw hehe..kaya ako nag aadjust sa kanya specially pag andito sya sa pinas..natutunan ko magluto ng mga baked foods, steak at kung ano pang mga aussie foods lol..

funny noh pag magsasabay kayong magsalita tapos parehas pa..happened to us sometimes din..kaya lokohan namin soulmate talaga kami coz we think alike, we're destined to each other un ang sabi nya kahit anong away-bati daw namin nagkakabalikan pa din hehe..kaya now we are happily engaged..

Been with my Polish guy for quite a while now. I've tried almost all of their food/dishes since we're basically at his mom's everyday hehe! They do love cabbage by the way!

^ that is one looooooooooong post. :D and I must admit I did not read it all, just sort of breezed through it.

I just have a comment on your 5th item. Don't be shy to text him if namimiss mo na sya, since you nagdate naman na kayo several times. If isang araw eh bigla na lang siyang MIA, malamang eh very busy siya. Sabi mo nga eh very Americanized sya, so I am sure that he wouldn't mind it, in fact baka matuwa pa, if you text him first once in a while and just be straightforward about it.

And yes, most of them ay walang drama, which is very nakakatuwa.

Just my two cents.

Hi there!

The food is great! I've basically tried all their soups except i can never seem to remember the names, or even pronounce it right. A bit bland to my taste pero salt and pepper will do the trick. Typical meal is with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, cutlets/fish/what ever his mom made. And since you'r going there for Easter, im sure there's going to be a lot of Bigos. It's cabbage, mushrooms, kielbasa and a lot of wonderful stuff. It's like their national dish. My guy's family only makes it for Christmas and Easter.

super long post sis girltalker2, i agree on some points but not all. i'm in a relationship with a half american-half pinoy guy, he was born and raised there, actually ako pa nagugulat kasi in some ways mas pinoy pa siya sakin, prolly the way he was raised. tama ka sa waiting game na you have to have diversion, and in my case i keep myself busy with work and hobbies, kahit nung di pa kami, i never dated other guys, just my preference though. we didn't talk about us being exclusive but it just happened, we never dated anybody else. and its ok to initiate a conversation, like ask how his day was things like that. i guess we're too open, we don't hide anything, i even know if he has conference call at work, or if he's paged right in the middle of the night, coz he tells me. i guess majority are like those you said but bf is just one of the few kumbaga. what's nice with them, they hate drama as much as we do, kaya kami ni bf never really had an argument, in almost a year of us being together, siguro just one petty tampuhan, na easily fixed din yun lang which i find odd kasi yung ex kong pinoy wala atang araw na hindi kami nag away...

Hello gorgeous people! I'm a returning Gtalker.  :D

I hope I am posting this question on the right thread, I just need a girly opinion.

I've met a gorgeous Swedish man on the weekend. He asked me to go for dinner on Tuesday (yesterday -I live in London) but I couldn't because I had to attend something else so we scheduled for today - Wednesday but last night he texted saying he's having a manic time at work and that we would go for drinks instead.

I normally prefer drinks for 1st dates but then since he has already invited me for dinner, changing plans to just drinks is like downgrading our date -dinner to drinks  :-\

He seemed really nice and gorgeous *drool* and I loved very much to see him again  :P But my ego is playing up so I turned it down...

Your thoughts? xx

Sis, Baka naman naisip niya na he might came on too strong the first time he asked you out, so he tried again but this time mejo nag-tone down siya ng approach, kumbaga e n a friendlier note, or something. He's still interested naman with you, I think. But then I don't know what you told him when you turned him down. Opinion ko Lang naman.  :)

Sis, depende naman kasi sa pagturn down mo. Puede mong sabihin No, but you would love to see him some other time - para it shows interest parin.

Thank you Lisse and Blooming! Haha well, I think I may have appeared so disinterested.  We sort of met quickly for lunch. Sadly we didn't have chance for proper date kasi 3 weeks nalang sya dito sa London after namin mag meet.  Na-assign sa Kuala Lumpur for a few months.

But he has kept in touch and since I'm going for a holiday dyan sa Asia this May, he's put forward a second date sa Hongkong. Some people are just keeerayzee! :p

Sis, completely agree on this! I dated pinoy guys before. My bf now is half french-half pinoy like me. There really is much less drama! I really like it. He just seems so sensible and open. Although we have had two rough patches in 5 months, that's a lot less than what I had with my ex boyfriends. But we never even talked about breaking up. It was always about fixing and talking about the issue. I remember with my ex-boyfriends, we would break up every month or so.
