Finally i saw a thread like this which i can relate with ;) . It's been more than a year na akong hindi kumakain ng pork, beef and chicken. My alternative for meats are the so called Vegie meats or Textured Vegetable Proteins. I have tried na rin yung sugarleaf sa greenhills and makati branch, and i find it quite good for vegetarians/Vegans out there.

Since naging vegetarian ako, mas lighter yung feeling ko then i feel more "nicer"  :P .

^ sis where do you buy veggie meat?

i've stopped eating meat since 1st year highschool (almost 8 years! it's a mix of animal-welfare, self-image and psychological issues, haha) but since i have low blood pressure and often fainted back then, my doctor recommended that i don't totally eliminate proteins since i had so much muscle loss, i couldn't even shoot a ball properly then. So yes, i still have "cheat" days when i have eggs or dairy.

May free seminar siya but i haven't go to the seminar yet.

(For me ) ayus sakin yung mga nasa menu nila ng SugarLeaf, meron rin sila mga products doon for vegans and vegetarians. Meron silang Kefir na pwede mong gawin shake at squash ice cream. Cozy yung place nila sis  :) .

all this time ang veggie meat ko lang are the canned ones (P88) that can be bought sa asian section ng Walter Mart :)) kinda pricey and luto na kasi or may flavor(i.e. mock abalone etc)so i wanted to know where to buy in bulk.

i guess maswerte lang ako hiyang ako sa gulay. i had always been a veggie eater even as a kid, mas gusto kong kumain ng pechay at patatas kesa spaghetti burger at fries sa birthday party. or tortang talong instead of fried chicken. i guess it has something to do with my sensitive tastebuds na din i don't want anything too flavorful.

ang hirap lang sisses is yung frequency ng pagbili ng ingredients since syempre veggies tend to spoil faster than meat. so ayan halos every other day ako sa grocery.

For breakfast i had egg and cheese sandwich with grilled tomatoes. going out now to buy ingredients for lunch and dinner. (hmm... i want mushroom sisig and mango salad :D)

Agree sis, Same here  :) . Parang incomplete yung araw ko pag walang vegies sa meals ko. Pag may time na makatikim ako ng something sinful like cakes, grabe the next day talagang all vegies ako to wash out those calories and sugars.

You guys might want to try edgy veggy. They deliver. Look them up. I'm not a veggie fan  :o but I read this thread and I wanted to dedicate some time to eating veggies too but I don't cook. So I surfed and found edgy veggie. Sarap pala. Hehe! Pero I stopped muna. Magkakaron na eh kaya craving for meat!!! :)

I stopped eating chicken, beef and pork 11 months ago after watching Earthlings. I think I'm on a lacto-ovo-pesco diet since I still eat seafood. I want to eliminate seafood na ren. Biggest challenge sa vegetarian diet is yung variety ng food.. hirap magplan ng meal especially ako lang ang naiibang diet sa family. I usually cook stir fried veggies (asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, beans, bell pepper). I don't use any animal by-products as well (knorr cubes or anything na may kahit anong part ng animals :P)

I am now trying the Hallelujah Diet (85% raw, 15% cooked vegan diet). I'm on my 5th day pa lang pero so far I'm loving it. I never thought that raw foods can be delicious and easy to prepare. Like for lunch today, I had sweet corn salad (raw shredded sweet corn, with bell peppers, olives, & cilantro drizzled with lemon juice and some cumin powder) Sarap nya talaga!

Btw, I'm here in Tagaytay sa center nila for a 1 week healing/restoration). Di naging masyadong mahirap for me ang transition kasi mahilig na talaga ako sa fruits and veggies even before. Though the real challenge will be when I'm on the "outside world" na. I do hope enough yung motivation ko and yung mga natutunan ko dito to stick with this lifestyle.
