I'm more of a flexitarian... I never really liked red meat. I would take off the fat from bacon and ham... I figure I'd just stop eating red meat so I wouldn't waste food. Now, I don't like chicken that much, either. I can eat a bit but I'm not as happy with the taste as I was years ago. Seafood on the other hand, I loooooove. So I dunno about becoming a full-fledged vegetarian. But I love vegetarian/vegan food. Before coming to Vietnam I barely ate veggies but I've learned to eat a lot of veggies, sometimes I forget to eat the meat *yep, even fish, because I'm focused on eating veggies. My Singaporean friend has been a vegetarian for 21 years and she makes amazing dishes. I love all her baked goodies and her zucchini alfredo. yumyum

Joining the thread!

I'm not really a vegan (although I have plans of becoming one someday); I'm a pescetarian and I love it. It was never hard for me to switch to this diet because I never liked red meat anyway. I've always been health conscious about my health and figure and keeping this diet have helped me keep my weight manageable.

what work for me is when i stop eating rice and switch to wheat bread of gardenia as my source of carbs. Plus, yung shake off talaga ang bawal mawala sa supplement ko. Biguerlai effect kasi yun sakin at masarap sa pakiramdam kapag every morning inilalabas yung mga kinain mo nung isang araw.hahaha. :D

plus, good thing my mga veggie meat ng nabibili!!! nakakakita ako online, at good thing ulit my mga vegetarian pips pala here sa place ko! so they [textspeak!] me always kapag my cooking seminar at get together. haha. :D

share ko lang sis..if you want to become vegetarians, there should be a deeper reason on why para may matatag kang pundasyon. Yung bf ko , member ng isckon society for hare krshna, vegetarian sya. so , even if im not akrshna member , I believed in their teachings na , you must not eat anything that craws, walks , runs ,hops etc... kasi para kang pumatay na din. (lalim diba?) at the same time , pet lover ako kaya I decided to stop eating meat.

I started to stop eating beef for a month, then pork the next month , then on my third month nag less na ako ng chicken , fourth month fish... kung baga, wag biglain paunti unti lang ang bawas para masanay din ang sistema ng katawan natin.

there are many kinds of vegans, una, may lacto vegetarian - vegetarians with dairy. then may ovo-lacto vegetarians - with egg and milk. pure vegan, mga fruits and veggies lang po.

hope i enlighten you guys!  :)

Last 2009- I started to not eat rice and drink softdrinks
This year 2010 - I have started not drinking coffee and junkfoods.
Next year 2011- I am thinking to be a vegetarian naman, sana magawa ko.

i wish i could have the same determination.. you've given up so much.. (well in my own terms.. ive tried no rice and no softdrinks.. ended up cheating).. but i wanna try being vegetarian.. pero il start at my own pace.. for now, i will try my best first to introduce veggies in our every meal, then increase it little by little, til we can totally remove the meat.. :)

I'm gonna attempt to become a vegetarian (or maybe a pescetarian?) soon - for health reasons lang talaga and nothing else. For the past couple of months I've had a barrage of health problems (asthma, allergies, respiratory infections, etc) and I'm thinking I might need a lifestyle and diet change. My sister has Alicia Silverstone's book/cookbook (the Kind Diet) and I was able to read some parts, sabi nya madami daw talagang health benefits so it encouraged me more to try this out. Nakaka inspire kase sya but I'm sure I'm gonna have a really hard time since I love meat and I barely eat veggies! Pero I'm not getting any younger, lumalabas na mga sakit slowly so I guess it's about time to make some healthier choices. Wish me luck girls hehe :D

my daily meal is not complete without green veggies than meat and rice. Sometimes i add veggies to fish or strips of meat. I feel bloated without greens.

pangarap ko to.. maging vegetarian, haha, pero di pwede, ang payat ko na nga, di pa ko kakain ng meat. :D

pag naabot ko na target weight ko, magbabawas na ko ng meat sa pagkain ko, at dagdag veggies.
say if it's worth SAVING me...
