How much does a trip to Paris cost?

subscribing too:) will go to Paris on October from London via train

backreading now...expensive pala:) but worth it naman siguro. I want to visit Lourdes and Versailles.

From KL to London we bought tickets at PHP 31k each with 2 luggage allowance, meals to and from, travel insurance pero no seat selection via Airasia.

Applying visa 1st week of April so I need to book sa hotel na.

Sayang hindi ko kasama hubby ko:( Pero kasama ko naman si father dear kaya libre na libot ko:)

If you're going in October bring an umbrella. It tends to be wet around that time specially in London.

I don't know about UK visa but you can only apply for schengen visa at least 3 months prior to your estimated departure date. They won't accept applications earlier than that. Check the link below for your guidance:

I'm in the US now and winter clothes are on sale so I want to buy heavy jackets already

^Okay lang naman sis as long as you're comfy and your feet are warm. Though when we were there winter time wala ako masyado nakitang naka-Uggs. Usually naka-leather boots mga nakikita ko.

As to jackets, a nice wool jacket will be fine. Then mag-layering ka na lang inside. Sa labas lang naman malamig but when you go inside the museums, churches, etc. they're all heated naman.

just got back from Paris the other day! That city is simply beautiful. my suggestion to first timers is to take the hop on hop off bus on the 1st day. it will give you a good preview of the city and the important spots to visit. The RER and Metro are also very extensive but just avoid using the subway during office hours. Train doors dont open automatically as well. You have to unlatch and push open to get out.  ;)Lastly, dress up! Parisians look great.

^sis, train ride is from 10 to 12 hours. By air, it's around an hour and a half. If you will be travelling mostly by train around Europe it will be cheaper if you get the Eurail Pass. But kung point to point travel ka lang, try to compare airfares from budget airlines and point to point train fares.

If you plan to take the train from Paris to Rome, get the night train para tipid ka na ng one night sa hotel. Most of the train cabins come in 4 and 6 bunks. Check the links below to guide you:

Ask ko lang okay ba ang selections sa Carrefour na cafeteria? I was thinking kasi to eat most of the time there. Stand alone ba ang Carrefour sa kanila or nasa loob ng mall?

As far as I know there are no Carrefours in central Paris. Usually suburbs ang location nya, tipo kasing costco yung dating nya. The Carrefour I went to was outside of Toulouse where we bought boxloads of wines. Super mura lang kasi! 

The usual grocery you'll find in central Paris will be monoprix and franprix. That's where we got our supplies. Of course there's your usual mom and pop stores and the street markets. Cheaper lang ng konti sa grocery compared to the mom and pop stores. For fresh produce and cheeses, pinakamura sa street market. Just be mindful though that most groceries and stores are closed on Sundays.

I assume you'll be staying in an apartment? Which area in Paris? Usually there are mga pedestrian areas where you'll find a lot of restaurants and food stalls. Hindi ka magugutom. Then you have your local bakery (boulangerie) where you can buy fresh baguettes. One baguette is good for 2-3 persons na.

^ang issue ko hubby does not eat breads and he's very picky sa pasta. Madami rin bang McDo don? Gusto ko sana sa Carrefour kasi dito sa ME may fried chicken, fries and hotdogs. I have not decided on an area yet, I'm trying to convince other people to join us, especially now pwede naman mag-apartment. =)

^yup, maraming McDo dun. I don't remember though if they have rice in their menu. Swerte lang ako na di naghahanap ng rice hubby ko. Maski anong food okay sa kanya.   

If you want to save more in your apartment, try renting at the outer districts (arrondissements). Kung matagal naman stay nyo in Paris you can afford to take the metro to the inner districts. A 10-15 minute metro ride will be your usual commute.

Yeap, actually that's the plan. I don't mind doing a bit of travelling kapag pumunta ako ng Paris at least a week, para ma-enjoy ko talaga. =)

There's a French counterpart of McDo called Quick. You can try that. Personally, I don't recommend fastfood since part of traveling is trying the cuisine.

^Naku, ako talaga I would. I'm the type who visits flea markets during travel. Etong travel partner ko kasi limited ang palate, pang fried food lang ang kaya, parang bata. =)

I'll keep Quick in mind, hopefully eh medyo localized na McDo sila.

theres a carrefour near our hotel just few blocks from arc de triomphe. small tho.

somehow, i think food tripping is not best in paris. they eat like birds there. thats why maybe most people ive seen are slim.

Our first time in Paris we didn't have time to really appreciate their cuisine. We were in such a hurry to see all the famous must-sees na fastfood lang naging katapat namin. On our suceeding trips we took it slow and tried their culinary offerings. We would just sit at their cafes and people watch. Go to their open air markets and try the local wines, meats, cheeses and fruits. Buy fresh baguette (mainit-init pa!) from the neighborhood boulangerie. It was fun!
