@ emeenem-Stokke Explory isn't one of my choices kasi super BULKY siya pag folded!cute sana yung purple....pero ang ayoko lang, super bulky talaga siya.
@ trins 01- mas marami lang choices if you buy here in singapore.when you do get here and kasya sa budget mo, head over to takashimaya and take a look @ JOOLZ (3rd floor) it sorts of looks like quinny pero it seats baby higher (like the stokke explory);at least am thinking of getting it kasi adpatible din dun yung maxi cosi infant carier/car seat.tsaka ko na iisipin siguro yung "lightweight" issue pag medyo lumaki na si baby.Like you am expecting too, March due date ko so I have a bit more time to look around.Have you seen the Maclaren by JUICY COUTURE by the way? that one can accomodate a newborn pero ayoko nun for now (although I love the design and color) kasi baby will facing outwards lang...are you giving birth there in Pinas or here in Singapore?

@bluegintonic - it's actually not that bulky as you would think. compared to buzz, halos lamang lang ng konti si xplory. and kasha sha sa honda jazz.

@trins - if you will be travelling every month to SG, baka better if you buy 2 strollers na lang. one naka tambak in SG, another here in Pinas. Mahirap mag move around with all your luggages with a stroller and a small baby. dagdag alalahanin mo pa yung pag fold, unfold, bitbit. better if isling mo na lang si baby tapos pagdating sa hubby mo, asa kanya yung stroller (alongwith the responsibility to fold and unfold it ;p). buti sana if you have a toddler na na pwede nang sabihan.

pero tama si bluegintonic, since you have the opportunity to buy a stroller in SG, dun na lang. cheaper and more choices. often may mga sale pa na talagang bagsak presyo.

Hi fellow-mommies

I'm a soon-to-be first-time mom, currently 26 weeks pregnant. My husband and I are on the hunt for the best (affordable and durable) stroller for our little boy. Any recommendations? Most well-known brands are so expensive but they have already made a name for themselves, so perhaps the price is worth-it. On the other hand, we are also looking for cheaper alternatives. Hope you could help us with this one.

Another thing, we were thinking of investing on the stroller more than the crib.

I've also noticed that most of you guys have purchased at least 2 strollers (one is the umbrella type for bigger kids). Is it necessary to have 2 strollers? We were thinking of buying one that would last until he's about a toddler.

When is the best time to buy a stroller? Some recommends that we buy after the baby is born, about 4-5 months to see if he likes it or not.

^ hi sis! before ko manganak, nakabili na kame ng stroller. eto yung ginamit namin since NB si baby hanggang mga 4-5months ata si baby. medyo bulky kasi sya eh, and mabigat. basta parang graco style, pero Juniors yung brand. hubby bought it in Dxb. then, bumili ako ng lightweight na stroller, Aprica. kasi nabibigatan na ako dun sa isa naming stroller. hindi sya umbrella type, pero super gaan. eto na gamit namin ngayon, mag 9months na si baby this month. yung isang stroller, nakatambak na. Buy ka nalang siguro sis ng medyo magaan lang na stroller na magagamit from NB to toddler.

Mgracemd, ako din bumili ng stroller before i gave birth. Buti naman gustong-gusto ng baby ko sa stroller.

If you get the travel systems (stroller plus infant carrier/carseat) like yung mga graco or chicco, the stroller is suitable for newborns to maybe 2 years old. But the stroller is usually bulky.

If you want an umbrella-type stroller suitable for newborns up to toddler age, you may want to check out maclaren xlr or xt, peg perego pliko p3 (this is what i have), combi din yata.

Pwede din quinny or bugaboo. Both suitable for newborn to toddler also pero yung quinny mabigat and bulky din.

mga sis, feedback naman sa quinny zapp saka maxi cosi...gaano katagal magagamit yung maxi cosi? madali ba sya ilagay/tanggalin sa quinny? tingin nyo sulit yung pagkakabili nyo?

^ yung maxi cosi na compatible sa frame ng quinny is an infant carrier/car set. Suitable from newborn to around 9 months lang depending on the size of your baby.

Maxi cosi costs about 12k if i remember correctly. Tapos sandali kang magagamit.

mukhang i am leaning towards buying two strollers. one for ph and one for sg... anyway, i will be going back to gbelt on saturday to check out the strollers again. pero that time, dapat makabili na ako.

@ simplykristine08: Thanks so much sis That's a very useful tip for us. As much as possible ayoko sana magdalawang stroller (gastos), so we're really thinking hard which to buy. You're probably right, the lightweight stroller is going to be more useful than the bulky one (with car seat included). And until when can the baby use the included car seat, until 1 y/o? Parang sayang naman ata. Btw, where did you buy the Aprica brand? I've been to SM, Landmark, Robinson, most of the time Graco/Chicco/Maclaren lang [textspeak!] available.

@ clueless: Thanks so much for the reply sis Maclaren is really pricey. How much is the Peg Perego? Where did you buy it? I've been to different malls, pero wala pa ko na-encounter na ganyang brand. Did you buy it in the US? We were thinking of ordering in the US, pero ang concern ko [textspeak!] cost of shipment (so kung mura nga sha plus shipment ganon din lalabas).

Also, any feedback on Esprit/Hauck stroller? I've seen this brand sa Landmark and Rustans. The salesperson said it's a Germany-made brand, di pa nga lang sikat 'coz they've just penetrated PHL market this 2010. May nakagamit na ba nito? Sulit din ba kaysa other brands?

trins, no need to buy the cocoon. pang cold countries lang yun IMO. sobrang pagpapawisan baby mo dun. i for one used the bugaboo bee from the time my baby was a newborn till around a year ( kasi I fell in love with another stroller - that's different strory). Since na rerecline sha fully, I just placed a super soft blanket for my baby's additional comfort.

We were able to make our first baby stuff purchase! After a tedious process, we settled for Capella stroller. We bought it in YOUJIE&ME at Greenbelt 5 and was able to get a 10% discount. Okay naman ang features and the it is reasonably priced. One down, so much more to go! Next on our shopping list is the crib.
