^Really? When we went to SM and the SA did the demo for the strollers, wala naman syang na-mention na hinde pwede yung Graco for newborns. I prefer kase Graco over Chicco.

^^We are Chicco stroller users.  I like that full recline feature of the stroller kasi my daughter (from NB until now that she's 2) gets to sleep on it comfortably kasi higa talaga sya, unlike pag medyo naka-recline lumalaylay ang ulo.  Also, it's useful for when I need to change her nappy too.  I can change her there and there's no need to look for a changing table.

prettyarcher, the chicco stroller with carrier/car seat you're referring to, ito ba yung chicco cortina with keyfit 30 carrier/car seat? this is 20k at rustan's and SM. tiningnan din namin yan and my husband thinks it's really good lalo na compared to the chicco trevi. pero bulky nga lang, hindi kasya sa trunk ng mga kotse namin kasi may sound setup.

we compared that to the graco na 16k or 18k yata with carrier/car seat din but my husband found the chicco better kasi may suspension and mas sturdy yung frame.

the carrier/car seat is convenient sa start kasi from the car, bubuhatin mo lang yung carrier tapos lock mo sa stroller then you're good to go, di na kailangan kargahin si baby para ilipat. but the car seat is rear-facing lang and is only good to about 30lbs and we really want our child to use a car seat later on kahit hanggang mga 5 years old.

so now we've decided to just get a convertible car seat (from rear-facing for newborn to about 1.5 years yata then to front-facing for bigger kids up to 65lbs) plus a stroller na pwede for newborn (i.e. maclaren techno xlr or xt). sa tingin namin parang mas matagal magagamit both pag ganon.

anneG, you got a maclaren techno xlr diba? did it come with a car seat adaptor? yung nasa babiesrus kasi meron pero hindi ko matandaan kung yung nakita ko sa sm meron din.

@clueless - yes we got the techno xlr. but i'm not sure if it has a car seat adaptor, after namin bilhin never pa nilabas ulit sa box next month pa kasi lalabas si baby. may nakita ka ng naka xlr w/ car seat? as in pinapatanong si car seat sa stroller? so far wala pa akong nakikitang ganun.

Sis twelvth_goddess: yes sis, yun ang sabi sakin ng SA sa SM (Makati and Megamall) and Rustan's Makati. Not advisable daw for NB yung GRACO TRAVEL SYSTEM STROLLER (worth 16k, with car seat). Kasi semi-reclined yung mismong hinihigaan ni baby.

Sis Clueless: Yes po, Chicco Cortina nga yung worth 20k sa SM and Rustan's Makati. Better nga ito compared to Graco Travel System Stroller which is mga 16K lang. Mas advisable daw itong Chicco Cortina sa NB kasi fully reclined yung mismong higaan and na-a-adjust ata sya by 3 levels parang ganun. Also yung mismong handle niya, adjustable din. Chaka compared to Graco, mas slimmer sya ng konti. Yung Graco bulkier eh.

Siguro nga mas okay na itong Chicco kasi pag di maiwasan na hindi ilabas si baby puwede sya sa stroller agad.

Sis, how much yung convertibel car seat na sinasabi mo and yung MacLaren Techno XLR na puwede din pang newborn? Para may idea ako how much. Thanks in advance po =)

yung techno xlr nasa mga 23k (about $350 yata in the US), yung techno xt (sale sa amazon $250)nasa mga 19k. ito yung 2 maclaren strollers available dito na pwede from NB pero hindi din sya flat pag fully reclined, di tulad ng chicco. pero may head support for the baby.

ang may car seat adaptor lang yata is yung xlr, yung xt wala, and di ako sure kung standard na kasama yon o sold separately pa.

yung convertible car seat naman, hindi pa ako nagtingin dito, sa US websites pa lang. yung napili ko the first years true fit. nabasa ko din sa thread nato na ok daw yon so chineck ko. mga $180+ yata kung tama ang tanda ko.

Thanks for letting me know, prettyarcher. Obviously the SA at SM megamall was clueless. Ayoko na tuloy bumalik don. I was set on buying Graco na pa naman, now I have to look for an alternative. Gusto ko din sana Maclaren kaso which model is good for NB?

SIs twelvth_goddess: Your welcome sis. You may want to check the Chicco Cortina, worth 20k with car seat also and mas slimmer sya pag naka-fold compared to Graco. Puwede din yung Maclaren techno XLR, according to sis Clueless, worth 20k naman ito pero without car seat, puwede din sa newborn.

^ yung carrier/car seat ng cortina 30 is a keyfit 30, for NB up to 30lbs. and it's only rear-facing when used as a car seat.

^Note lang sisses, although they say the baby carrier will hold up to 30lbs, you won't be able to fit your child in it up to when s/he reaches 30lbs.  It will be too small for a ~30lb child.  To give you an idea, an average 2-year-old is 27 lbs.

^ that's what i told my husband that's why we decided not to go for the cortina. kasi 30lbs nga pero may height limit din naman plus it's only rear-facing. so now we want to get a convertible car seat na lang plus a techno xt stroller.

mga mommies, sa mothercare kaya meron convertible car seat? napaisip din kc ako sa Graco and Chicco, gusto ko check yung maclaren na puwede pang NB pero dapat nga may convertible car seat na makita. Otherwise, Chicco Cortina nalang [textspeak!] buy namin then pag di na kasya si baby sa car seat, chaka na bumili ng convertible car seat.

^^i bought my daughter's convertible car seat from mothercare. the brand is mothercare as well
