I'm not depressed but my partner was diagnosed with depression last month. Mahabang storya how we got there, but I just want to share some of what happened  from the point of view of someone caring for somebody depressed. If you feel that you're in despair and you've been feeling that for a long time, please seek professional help. Makakatulong sila sa inyo.

In the middle part of this year, our relationship was in turmoil. We almost broke up; we actually did I think, spending two weeks apart. Things were so muddled I thought I had caused our 8-year relationship to end. But I had this nagging feeling that something was very wrong and that it was disturbing. I googled to the max and found out that many of the signs of depression were present in our relationship.

So after the break up, I went to a psychiatrist. I was also very very sad then, but I was told that I wasn't depressed. I was just going through an emotional imbalance because of the loss of the relationship. But the psychiatrist wanted to see my partner. She was adamant. She said, "Bring her here if you can." (Yes, her)

Ayun. I felt so concerned, so I did my best to reach out to her. We got back together but it's been very rocky. I admit that even after I was told that I should bring her to the psychcenter, I was still hoping that it's just a sad phase that my gf would get over with. It didn't happen. Yun pala when I told my gf na I went to a psychiatrist during our break up, na curious siya. Gusto din niyang magpatingin. We finally went there in November and then dun na siya na-diagnose. The fantastic thing was, naalala pa talaga nung psychiatrist na pinapadala niya sa kin yung gf ko para makausap niya.

She's taking some meds now. It's getting better, but it's still very hard. The damage this has done to our relationship and to our lives is no joke. I regret that I didn't seek treatment earlier.

I think i am going through depression.

Sis, talk to a counsellor. It's for you and for your kid/s.

Depression + anxiety.

Kung ayaw niyo lumabas ng bahay at makakita ng tao, you can try online... Sometimes mas comforting if you can't see the person you're talking to physically, kasi like for me, nakaka-add yun sa anxiety. :)

Buti nadiscover ko GT.. I also joined several Stillbirth support groups on Facebook. Nakakapag-open up ako kahit papano.
Whenever I feel sad or depressed, nagsusulat ako sa journal ko. Dun ko nilalabas lahat and gumagaan pakiramdam ko.  :) Di kasi talaga ko komportable na kumakausap ng ibang tao about sa problems ko, yung one on one talk. Writing is my way of overcoming depression on my own.

Yep. Hehe.

im fine!

If you feel like crying, iiyak mo. The more you avoid the cause ng depression, mas lalong tatagal yan.

I could say that this has been the most challenging year of my life. I turned my life upside down. Nobody knew that there was a time this year that I got lost and confused. I quit a high paying job to pursue what I thought I wanted but ended up wandering again. I questioned all the decisions I've made. Lost my confidence. I was at the point of depression. I didn't tell anybody, not even my family nor my boyfriend, I didn't show any signs that I was struggling, not even a subtle hint. All the while, everybody thought I was happy.

I spent so much time helping other people that I failed to acknowledge that I needed help too.

A dream made me realize that I need to stand and pick myself up again. I chopped my hair, pampered myself, went shopping, met a few people, read a couple of books, attended a conference, went home, caught up with old friends, apologized to some people that I've caused pain in the past, and I started to appreciate again all the things that I have. But I'm still feeling loss and lonely.

I just turned 25 yesterday, and maybe this is just a quarter-life crisis.

im fine!

Nag suffer ako sa depression. I was advised to cry. Sabi ko I cant cry that much for some reason.

Ang bigat ng feeling ko since mid this year.

I even tried thetahealing sa bgc pero it didn't work.

I believe im recovering from this na. I used to make plans on how to kill myself. Before, sa konting problema, ang automatic na naiisip kong solution is suicide. Though the closest I actually went to doing it is drug overdose attempt, I sought help from a professional. But after 2 sessions, I never went back. Maliban sa mahal per session I didnt think she could help me. She prescribed me an antidepressant on the 1st day w/c I never took.

Now, I just realized that I have somehow recovered. These could be the factors to my ongoing recovery:
- I left my boss (one of the sources of my depression)
- I do volunteer work (it helps me think abt something else other than my psuedoproblems and myself)
- I enrolled in classes im interested in or at least curious abt (same as volunteering, it helps me not see everything as problems)
- my parents assured me that they'll support me no matter what
- i help out at home and fixed my room hanggang maging magazine feature worthy sya (haha sa paningin ko lang naman haha)
- i have my babies (dogs) I take care of

Hang in there friends. Ask for help before you do anything drastic. Let me know what I can do to help.

Same here.. I'm glad I found this, I learned that there are a lot of people that feels the same way as I did.. Almost ganito din ako, Last year was probably the worst time of my life..
I quit a job kasi di ako nag eenjoy and to pursue something that I wanted but now I kinda ended up wandering again and don't know what to do..
I kinda did the same thing before I turned down a job offer kasi feeling ko di ako magiging masaya sa terms nila but later I'm kinda having regrets and I only blame myself and ended up depressed..
Haay.. Dami ko ding plan pero di ko ma execute, I think kasi wala akong motivation para gawin yun and in the end I ended up being lazy the whole time.. Haha..
 ;D
But now I feel better but still I feel lonely and lost now and then..
I just need to find something that will give me drive and motivation kasi and opposite ng depression is vitality and motivation..
