The Theater

I couldn't find a theater (musical and otherswise) board, but I'm sure some of us enjoy watching a play every now and then.

I myself have a ridiculous schedule so it's been a long time since I've last seen a play. A pity considering I work with two theater heavyweights. But I've vowed to change that starting this year and I'll be watching "Rent" next month.

What plays have you seen lately, where and how was it? Also, feel free to share playdates

i saw rent last night and it was awesome. 2 thumbs up. i had fun watching it. gave me goosebumps. galing talaga! i am such a renthead!

oh, gosh, super late reply! yah, i watched "Rent" and I enjoyed it, but it could have been better...so much better. i was ready to set aside any expectations about the show (because i already read and heard reviews) but our Mimi was just really unforgivable. Minus that, I had fun watching and singing along pa

OMG! There's a thread pala about theater here. I've been a big fan since I was 10 and I believe that that's a feat for me given the fact that I'm Asian and musical theater in our part of the world is not that well-appreciated.

Anyway, my first experience was in Las Vegas. I watched The Phantom of the Opera alone. It was one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen thus far and watching it alone was just liberating. When Christine and Raoul sang All I Ask of You, I got teary-eyed. It was the most beautiful, beautiful sound.

My next musical will probably be Fiddler on the Roof just because it's on a tour and they will be here next week. Still thinking about it though.

^ 2012 yata dito magpeperform Phantom of the Opera. Pinag-iipunan ko na nga, well I mean after ng sale sa Forever 21, sa Zara, sa Mango . . . etc. Pero worth it kase if nasa front seat talaga.

Every month, I try to get to see plays kahit di naman masyado grand, ok na rin. It gives you the kind of . . . basta, different from the ones you get from the movies So far, I like Equus and Xanadu.
