Iniisip ko kasi how effective this vaccine is; bakit napaka-common ng pneumonia lately.

^ sis sa pagkakaalam ko, hindi ibig sabihin na may vaccine ay hindi na magkakaron ang bata ng pneumonia or kahit anong sakit. ang sabi hindi lang daw grabe yung sakit kasi daw may vaccine.

medyo Ot: yung friend ko, may chicken fox vaccine ang anak pero nagkaron pa din, hindi nga lang daw talaga madami yung mga mga butlig.

ako sis my chix vax, pero nagkaron pa din ako.siguro same lang din yunsa IPD/PCV, may chances pa din magkaron pero di ganun ka grabe.

sisses, ask ko lang po, after pneumonia waht happen na sa babies nyo?  nag uubo pa din ba? narinig ko kasi na prone sa primary complex ang baby after pneumonia kaya worried ako kasi diba mahina na daw lungs after ng pneumonia.

agree mga sis, vaccines are not 100% full-proof.  It just mitigates the chances or sometimes lessens the intensity of the sickness it seeks to protect the babies against.

Ang pagkakaalam ko, there are over 90 strains of bacteria/virus that can cause pneumonia. Prevnar covers only seven strains. I guess ito yung pinaka-common strains.
Also, no vaccine is 100% effective. I think ang Prevnar has a 90% efficacy. Meaning, 10 out of 100 kids vaccinated with Prevnar will still not be fully protected against the disease that the vaccine supposedly covers for.

Thanks for the replies.  I also asked the pedia about it and got pretty much the same advice (IPV only covers 7 invasive strains; PPV covers 23 common strains).

I guess ngayon pa lang nag-dawn on me how much vaccines are needed in third world countries.  Kahit na I get my child vaccinated, given the percentage of unvaccinated people (children and adults) here & %efficacy of vaccines, the amount of protection becomes lower.

my 3 yr old was admitted in the hospital for fever, cough and colds. noong second day namin sinabi na may pneumonia. we stayed at the hospital for 4 days.
what should i expect for the next couple of days?
naka-oral antibiotic na siya ngayon?
it's so stressful at sympre talagang nakakaawa ang bata.

yung baby ko nagka pnuemonia dn, 12days pa lang sya nun,then 1wk sya naconfine. naawa ako sa baby ko kase palipat lipat yung IV. halos lahat nalagyan. kamay at paa. iyak sya ng iyak.. ang hirap pa naman tignan pag nasasaktan sya, naiiyak ako.

wala naman syang symptoms namay pneumonia, mabilis lang yung paghinga nya, tapos parang umaalon yung tummy nya, kaya yun pina xray namin sya, pneumonia nga daw yun,.

pero ngayon Ok na sya sana di na maulit...

my baby had pnuemonia last december, i consulted 2 different pedia at same findings nila.. which is pneumonia nga pero may category daw un, un sa baby ko no need for confinement basta un meds nya mainom nya.. after nun nagkasakit na naman after 2 weeks.. i looked for another pedia at pina xray nya baby ko. ayun may primary complex pala.. pero now that he's taking his meds na hindi na sya nagkakasakit.. hindi pa tapos un pcv/ipd shots nya, last shot na lang..

mga sis ako naman,nagwoworry na baka magkaroon si baby ng pneumonia..since napakapawisin nya,we move here sa baguio last january at super pawisin nya pa din kailanagn pa din na meron syang fan pagmatutulog sa afternoon or sa gabi..super pawis sa likod nya,paghindi ko naman siya nilagyan ng jacket at night inuubo naman sya the next day..at pabalik-balik ang sipon nya..like kahapon naabutan kami ng dilim after magsimba ayun sinisipon na naman sya kaninang umaga..

pero pinapawisan pa din sya pagmatutulog sya sa gabi or tanghali..is he likely to have pneumonia?

my 6yo daughter also was diagnosed having pneumonia after a month of pabalik balik na cough. the skin test was negative for pc but in her chest xray, meron daw pneumonia. she is taking antibiotic for 1 week and nebu also with ambroxol. hope she gets well na... di rin pala assurance na if your kid has vaccinations, di na siya magkakasakit

My youngest is in the hospital right now, due to acute pneumonia. Last year, the same month din may naconfine siya due to severe pneumonia. Kaya pina-admit na ng doctor namin kasi he has history of it na and he also has asthma. Kaya gusto niya makainom gamot bunso ko maigi before pa raw lumala and maobserve daw niya before pa mag-asthma attack.

Uso raw ito palagi before mag-december sa Pinas. According to the nurses, mataas daw ang rate ng pneumonia cases nila before mag-december...

^yes sis, uso talaga yan pag magpapasko or new year malamig kasi panahon, si ava ko lagi 2 consecutive years na nagkaganyan every christmas season lagi yung 1st time nya na admit yung 2nd time hindi na inadvise ni pedia na iadmit.

7 years old na yung panganay ko, pabalik balik ang ubo at sipon niya, so pina xray na ng pedia, and ngayon lang namin nalaman, meron siyang pneumonitis, dinala namin sa ER ng hospital, since natakot naman ako, but wala naman siyang lagnat, wala din hirap sa paghinga, yun lang, siyempre bilang mommy nag OA na naman ako..

Pinapapunta na lang kami sa clinic ng pedia tomorrow, and sana naman, gumaling na siya agad.. Nakakalungkot, kumpleto vaccines niya, and ang hirap talaga kapag nagkakasakit ang anak.. kung pwedeng ako na nga lang eh..

^uy sis ganun din 2yo baby ko. He had a chest xray last friday nakalagay sa written result na bilateral interstitial pneumonitis. Tomorrow pa titignan ni pedia yung result. Puna xray nya just because no weight gain si baby. Savi nya baka primary complex.

Kamusta anak mo sis? Anong ginawa sa kanya and anong medication nya?

kakaconfine lang ng 7 y/o ko for pneumonia this Monday how long po ba usually ito bago gumaling? generally?

my 1 y/o baby got broncho pneumonia.. didnt bring him to the hospital kasi ayoko maconfine.. trusted my in-law's advice to bring him to their family doctor.. yung doctor is matanda na tas old fashioned way ang atake. she just used stethoscope and came up w/ a conclusion na broncho pneumonia yun. my baby received an injection plus oral antibiotics. gumaling naman si baby..
