^Mas masaya pag nasa class talaga. Hope you'd get the chance to attend a class one of these days para ma compare mo kung alin mas masaya. At sana magkaron ako ng chance mag hold ng classes sa Philippines in the future para ma meet ko mga taga GT :-) .. wishful thinking

^^hey sis :) are you a bona fide Zumba instructor? if yes, saan or kanino ka nag-training? Did you have to attend several courses to qualify for instructorship? Oh, and lemme just warn you, be careful what you wish for ;)

^Lohja, Finland under Izabella Kin last summer. One course is enough to teach basic Zumba. I will take my specialty course next month- Zumba Gold, in London. You can find my profile in Zumba.com. Just type my last name: Laakso.

^It still depends on how often you attend the classes and how you execute the movements. Kailangan wag mahihiya  ;D  Don't worry about the steps, it's not showdance naman, the important thing is that you get to burn calories in a super fun way.

i tried zumba in Curves Gym as well as Gold's.. difference with Curves is that they incorporate some of their machines with the Zumba class, but still you enjoy the dancing and the sweating :D too bad, we have to move to alabang so i wont be able to continue with the program, will just go to the classes in Gold's :)

btw, im selling my 2 zumba vouchers in Curves Gym in Serendra, PM me if interested :)

^^ that's wonderful! Im sure ill be equally hooked once I embark on instructor training. Sana nga you'd be able to hold a session or 2 if ever you visit Mla. Pls inform us here then when that time comes;)

@hotmom: in addition to what sue323 said, just show up in class and follow the dictum, "dance like no one's watching". Your intention naman is to be fit and not compete with others in executing the steps properly. it is expected to lag behind but once you get ur groove and get the hang of it, every bit of your muscle will swing perfectly into action.

Sisses, sino nakatry ng Zumba sa Fitness First? :)

Youtube lang ang Zumba ko right now, super fun kahit mag-isa lang pero ang hinahanap ko na video yung nakatalikod yung instructor tapos nakaharap sa mirror. Mas nasusundan ko kapag ganun :)

I like dancing.  So I tried attending Zumba class.  Kaso na-awkward-an ako sa ibang moves nya kasi naninibago pako. Sige lang ang sayaw ng instructor kasi without teaching the proper moves sa mga nag-a-attend ng class. Kaya ang kinakalabasan ang pangit ng itsura ng mga nag-a-attend ng class. Mukhang t****.  Ganun ba talaga?

Instructors rarely give verbal instructions in Zumba. We encourage students to listen and feel the music.  So the choreography should be simple and easy to follow. Paulit ulit lang ang moves depende sa song, halimbawa isang uri ng step sa intro, another step for first stanza, another step for chorus, and kung may instrumental parts pwedeng another step. Next time observe mo yung moves, mapapansin mo yan. Hindi rin nagbibilang out loud kasi baka mawala ang attention sa music.

Look for the video of the basic steps of Zumba, yun ang ginagamit ng mga instructors plus dinadagdagan ng sariling steps.

Pag beginner naman talaga, siempre expected na ang awkward moments :-) ganon din ako dati. Pero if you feel that the steps are too difficult, don't hesitate to tell the instructor. Siempre the instructor must make sure that the students are enjoying paano ma eenjoy kung super hirap ng steps, di ba?

If you can move, you can do the steps :-) Give it a try. It's an exercise after all, not a show dance thingy.

^^Sis I'm not a dancer din though I studied Jazz when I was in high school (which is a long time ago).  Hindi din ako nageexercise before kaya nung una may mga steps na mahirap sundan pero you should try so you'll learn :) Mahirap sa una so observe mo muna. Makakasabay ka din kasi paulit-ulit lang naman. :)
