im currently torn between travelling by sea ( which i have never done) or by air going to davao city. i'll be bringing my 2 shihtzu's. both adult, lulu 3yrs old&nacho 1yr old. i've read the topic about the dog who died on a cebu pacific plane which really scared me. i've used cabu pacific&zest air both of which dont have cold ventilation (from experience) for the cabin what more sa cargo area.
what the difference between the plane&sea trip when you bring a pet?sa sea ba they are not in cargo?can they stay with you?i have no idea kase by air lang alam ko.
were planning on leaving by end of the month.

My dog nag-travelled by sea. Sa cargo din daw siya dapat ilalagay pero di pumayag yung uncle ko kaya nasama nila sa cabin nila. Tinago nalang nila kasi bawal daw yun.

I suggest do it by sea. Shih tzu dogs are short snouted di ba? if they are like pugs boxers etc. they are prone to have breathing problems in the plane. Yun iyong mga namamatay. I investigated this kasi Im planning on bringing my Terrier dog to the Philippines from England. Super long flight kaya nakakaworry.  Do a quick google on short snouted dogs you will find a lot of article regarding it.

oo sis eh kase snub nose sila. like dun sa story nung namatay na pug eh pug pa yun short haired so kahit ma init wala sha fur mashado that would have helped. talagang seguro walang proper ventilation sa cargo kaya di sha nakahinga&nasa altitude din seuro nung plane na pressure airway niya. kahit na 1 hour lang yung byahe sa plane if every minute of it is going to be a threat sa life nung dogs i wouldn't do it. sa ship naman kase ang prob pag sa cargo paano sila kakain&mag poo naka cage for 2 days?paano kung ma stress sila?i really dont know what to do...huhuhu

i called air phils and they said their airbus can carry pets. we might consider it, any feedbacks on air phils?

i've tried travelling with our shih tzu via sea, we barged our car sa barko, binigyan lang kami ng transport permit from the vet ng port, then ok na, kasama namin yung dog namin the whole time at di naman kami ni require na icage sya... ok lang naman sa ibang pasahero at saka di naman sya nagkalat, you know what i mean...so i think its better via sea.

sis what shipping line did you use?nung nag inquire kase ko sa super ferry sa moa tinarayan lang ako nung booking agent pag sabi ko may pets, sabi bawal pets sa cagro lang di manalang ako kinausap ng maayos so umalis na ako.

di ko tanda yung name nung shipping line, basta sa batangas port kami nun sumakay papuntang mindoro... ang dali nga lang namin eh, nung pinakita ko yung vaccination record nung aso namin, di na sya check, binigyan na agad kami ng permit.

ah ok swerte mo naman sabi kase sa akin sa cargo din daw so di ko naman ma imagine 2 days nasa cargo sila wawa.

my tita has travelled twice to the province with her guinea pig and two of our dogs, a lab and a dachshund, via PAL. ayaw nya mag cebu pac kasi natakot din sya sa story of the dog who died. she seems to be happy with them, and the people in the provincial airport already know the pets by name. they've all gone back and forth with no problems at all.

hi mga sis i called na PAL and mejo strict pala sila sa pets on board i'm guessing pag isa lang dala nasa cabin sha kase i said 2 dala ko sabi niya seperate kennels pag 1yr above na then pag 2 sila and 1 lang ang passenger sa cargo sila. meaning pag isa lang nasa cabin?di na na tanong yun. so pag cargo sila theyre considered excess baggage ang per kilo is 168 pesos. keri na diba. then dapat not more  than 20lbs kasama weight of dog+weight of kennel. then 48hours before flight fill up na daw nung form for permit sa airport to carry dogs.
sana makatulong din ako sa mga balak mag dala ng dogs nila. im so excited na hehe
now my task is to find a good kennel brand.hmmm....
