i learned that there's really a REASON for EVERYTHING. and that, a heartbreak can't kill ME. after ng lahat ng pain at iyak ko sa taong yun at later on, mgiging mas malakas ka to face every challeng that you'll be going through. at wala sa haba ng relation yan. so, next time na magkarelationship ako, pipiliin ko yung guy na nakakaintindi sa salitang COMMITMENT.

I've learned that..

Love yourself first, wholeheartedly so you can attract a healthy loving relationship.
Benefit of the doubt is ONLY for those people who deserve it.
Closure by yourself is okay. Even without the other person.
Relationships cannot work with LOVE alone. It consists of balance, consistency, commitment, communication, trust and respect.
Love always comes with logic.
Justifying a bad relationship is setting up for downfall.
Love is the other person is making you happy, and contributing in your healthy well-being.
Unconditional love means 'I love you no matter what happens not I will still love you if you treat me like crap.'
Pain is not love; it is pain.
Know when to fold in relationships.
Never ignore the red flags and your gut. When your gut says RUN, you RUN!

Ang dami no? :) Pero sana makatulong din ako sa other girls with my statements.

^Gosh, most of what you listed are true and yes, I sooo can relate. You rock, girl! It's really better to be a realist while in a relationship. It isn't really helpful to live in a fairytale kinda setting all the time.

Oh. Nakalimutan ko..

Do not be saddened and stay in a relationship heading nowhere just because you thought your partner will change in the future and some other girl will reap the benefits. He's not even a catch now and the most important thing is the NOW.

Sis tipC_shoegal yes.. Mahirap mag-hope ng mag-hope when we are too blinded by the reality that the relationship is really beyond hopeless. :) I hope more women would read this! We can learn from the experience of each other. :)

^ Kasi sis lagi nating napagkakamalan na love should be painful. No! Love is absolute, at dapat pinapasaya ka ng love. :) Ngayon ko nga lang yan natutunan. :)

from my friends' breakups eto mga natutunan ko:

1) love is never enough to stay in a relationship

2) reasons not to be together, no matter how good and viable it sounds are mostly just well-crafted excuses to get away from the relationship.

3) don't ever ever fall too deeply in love. don't ever lose yourself in the process of falling in love.

4) reserve one favorite place for you. don't share it with your partner. have that single special place for yourself where you go when you are alone or sad.  if you shared it with him and you guys broke up, you not only lose the relationship, you also lose the place.

5) don't ever settle with something na "okay na". if something feels wrong, trust your instincts.

now with my own breakups, i only learned one thing:

after all the pain, it is true that LOVE DIES DOWN. it isn't true that love is forever.. no, it really does disappear. you'll just realize that you don't care for him as much as you do before. when? i dont remember. i dont even remember how i moved on. i just simply did.

completely moving on is a gradual, unconscious thing that just happens. but it doesn't mean you won't help yourself in the process. ;)

Hmm.. Meron pa ako idadagdag..

No guy is worth giving up your dignity for.
Relationships requires 100/100 to work.

Bakit hindi 50/50? Kasi hindi naman ikaw sure kung yung 50% mo eh 10% lang pala sa partner mo. You have to give your all. If it doesn't work and you know you did your best, you can walk away and say "I did my best, and that's enough". :)

Exactly! Everything has its own limits and being grounded in reality will really, really help! Romanticizing everything isn't really something to consider when faced with challenges in a relationship because once the emotional starts weighing us down, we ultimately can't do what we're supposed to do.

You're right, sis. We all can really learn off of each others' experiences here so post away, ladies!  ;)

Hello mga sis! Update lang. Unti unti na kong nakakamove on. There's nothing like knowing your ex's new gf is not that good looking. Parang feeling ko navindicate ako. Hehe. Magsama sila. Isang mang-aagaw at isang nagpaagaw. They deserve each other.

I learned that years later, you will look back at the moments when you bawled your eyes out and cried yourself to sleep and think "What the F was I thinking?!"  ;D

Not to trivialize the pains of those who are trying to move on after a breakup or anything, but its true what they say - time heals. You WILL be able to move on. You WILL find someone else.  :)

In the future, you will just look back and either laugh at yourself or smile.
