^ sis plan din ni hubby bumili sa mga pawnshop. mga magkano usually yung mga nakukuha mo? is it really lower than mall/stall/seller prices or halos pareho lang din?

questions ko lang po:
1. bakit bumibili tayo nang jewelry with the thought na it's a good investment when wala naman tayo balak sila ibenta later on? i mean you can only say na meron kang "gain" kapag you sell it right?....
2. feeling ko weird bumili sa pawnshop ( sa akin lang po) kase galing sila sa mga tao na ibinenta sila dahil in-need nang money? parang like this ring has a sentimental value to someone pero dahil in need siya nang money kailangan niya ibenta so parang ang sad...
3. bakit hindi tumataas ang value nang swarovski crystals? pansin ko gold and diamond lang usually kadalasan mga binibili, mga precious stones like ruby, emerald, sapphire hindi gaano mabenta... saka sa pearls hindi na din gaano tumataas ang value..

Hindi lahat ng nasa jewelry store ay brand new...recycled din yan sa mga pawnshops...if you want brand new pasadya ka sa alahera.
Kase swarovski and other precious stones are very common na thats why hindi masyado significant ang pagtaas, actually even diamond dapat di na masyadong mahal eh.

Investment in the sense na in case mailangan ka pwede mong masangla at maging pera.

ah ok. i want to buy a ring. i was thinking of getting a swarovski ring but a friend of mine discouraged me saying: hindi daw siya magandang investment since wala daw halos value in the future ang swarovski para lang daw akong bumili nang napakamahal na puwet ng baso. nagtapon lang daw ako nang money. i was thinking kase na it looks really nice and sa panahon natin na uso ang nakawan at least hind ako feeling na nawalan ako nang kamay or sobra sobra laki nang loss ko unlike if i bought a real precious stone. kaso yung sinabi niya na "parang nagtapon lang ako nang pera" and wala daw value... well nagkaroon ako nang second thoughts tuloy.... what can you suggest?  for example kase if i want say a ruby or emerald ring that's triple to 4times the price of a swarovski...

For me as long as it has gold in it ok sya, never naman kase tinignan sa pawnshop ang bato, syempre also take note of the value baka sobrang taas naman na parang lugi ka talaga

Sorry, but jewelry is an investment. It doesnt become an investment if you just sell it to a pawnshop because they will just pay you 1/3 of the price that they will sell if for plus they will not consider the value of the diamonds or the precious stones.

I have read mas mataas daw ang value ng imported jewelries kesa sa local. Ask ko lang, nalalaman ba ng mga pawnshop kung saudi gold or italy gold yung jewelry? Or they appraised items based on the weight lang talaga. May price difference ba pag sinanla?

Nasa sayo naman kung isasanla mo ang jewelries mo..mas okey kase bumili ng lahas kesa sa mahalin na bags at least yun talaga may value.may mga kilala ako nagipit sila halos alahas nila bumuhay sa kanila may mga naremata pero meron din natubos.ako nag iinvest ng alahas pag may pera ako alahas talaga bibilhin ko..kung in case kailanganin ng pera pwede makatulong surely..pero kung hindi naman pwedeng ipamana sa anak kong babae tulad ng ginawa ng mama ko lahat ng alahs nya di na ginamit puro japan gold pa ako ang nagamit na.wag ng masyado sa stones puro gold lang kung isanla kase hindi naman worth ang diamonds pero ako may balak din bumili ng diamonds at south sea pearl kase gusto kopamana sa baby girl ko someday sa metro guisano dept store ako kadalas bumili orif may taga saudi na magbenta minsan sa subasta.wag kau sa sm dept napaka laki ng tubo pero 6 months lay away pwede sa metro guisano 3 months lay away nila.

If magipit wag kau mag sanla sa pawnshop mas okey sa tao or ibenta nyo nalang di pa kayo malulugi..alam ng pawnshop kung lcal or saudi gold sa kulay ng pagka gold kabisado na nila ang saudi gold madilaw na makintab ang japan gold medyo dilaw na di makntab at italy gold naman faded yellow..saka kadalasan may tatak naman sa mismong alahas kung san gawa nakikita nila yun.mas mataas value ng saudi gold kesa italy pero japan at chinese gold mahal talaga.

^ as far as i know, mas mahal italian gold vs saudi though chinese gold is still the best especially if workmanship is from HK. aside from gold, i also invest in stones especially diamonds na maganda yung cut and clarity. these appreciate in terms of value and malaki na tinaas from the time when my lola started buying them. and they are easy to sell to family or friends given the right size (1 carat and up) and clarity.

heaven_charm, yes they would know what kind of gold it is. they have different characteristics kasi. what do you mean if may price difference if sinangla? you will never get full price when you pawn something. i think it is a wrong idea to "invest" in jewelry tapos pawn shop bagsak if they need cash. you might break even or earn some but you are cheating yourself of the full price.

may binebenta opismate ko na alahera. yellow gold bracelet, no stones. 9.9 grams na 18k gold. mahal ba siya for 30k? parang bet ko kasi pwede siya kabitan ng charms

^mahal dahil mababa ang gold ngayon tapos 3,030 per gram lumalabas. Dapat nasa mga 21k lang, pero kung hulugan pwede na yun sa 30k dahil may patong talaga.

^^ expensive yan at 30k kasi parang buying if gold right now is around php1300 per gram but then you have to add pa labor cost and pating but it shouldnt be more than double

where do you get the current price of gold per gram? magkaiba kasi yung quotations nyo. 1.3k ba or 3k?

30,000pesos divided by 9.9grams equal 3030 pesos per gram.

1300 lang ba 18k ngayon? Hindi ba 1800 something?

sa ablaza pawnshop maganda bumili ng subasta gold naadik ako bumili ng mga rings hehe, usually iba iba lang naman kulay eh tyaka ang italy mostly eh may makintab na design eklaboo. for me maganda design ng japan gold
