I agree jewelries, particularly gold, appreciates in value significantly.  Wedding bands namin ni hubby, we bought at 1K lang each.  A year after, nawala ang wedding band ni hubby and we found out na sinanla pala ng cousin ko na nagnakaw sa amin.  We went and got the papers and the value was 1,800 agad.

The value appreciates but yun nga, you have to be careful talaga in keeping them.  If you have big jewelries or several heirloom pieces, keep them in bank vaults than sa house where may risk ng akyat bahay or in our case, even relatives na malikot ang kamay  :(

I'm interested to buy but more for heirloom or pamana sa mga kids ko.

For me good investment talaga yung jewelry. Observation ko lang never bumaba yung price tumataas pa. 2006 900php per gram pa nun ngayon 1700-1900 na per gram after 6 years.

Mas kumikita ang mga pawnshops than the jewelry owners. ;)  I would go into pawnshop business if that's the case.

I don't like to invest in stuff that will tear me up when I have to part with them. I'd rather keep the memories. Some of my mom's old jewelries that I don't like the style I'm thinking of exchanging to diamond studs na lang for me and my daughter.  Or maybe liquidate them and convert it to another asset.

may nabasa ako noon na something like diamond rings are a dead investment as soon as you bought it. heto pala ang logic behind that:

GOLD 24k as of early this month is 2450 per gram ang bilis talagang tumaas naghohoard daw kasi ang China. Kapag naiisip ko to nalilink ko sa sabi sabi na magkakagulo sa 2012 wherein papers will just be as good as papers.
