Good investment lang pag nabilimo ng mababa then mabenta mo ng mataas.

jewelry with diamonds are good for reselling since, girls love them. although sa pawnshop they dont consider the stone, only the gold.so somehow pag naremata ang alahas na may diamond talo ka kasi mahal ang bili mo.

minsan tulog din ang pera ng matagal kasi terms din ang payment, seldom are the cash buyers.

oo grabe nga lugi talaga ako sa ring ko na may diamond sa ibang bansa ko pa yun binili nung nagipit sinangla ko grabe imagine di nila pinahalagahan yong value ng diamond wala man lang sa kalahati ang value ng diamond ring ko sa worth ng sangla nila super nadepress ako parang hindi ata worth ang pagsangla na investment pag diamond resell mas ok pero need mo pa maghanap ng buyer na willing bumili hayss mahirap din mag invest ng jewelry money na lang mas better sa bank mo itago pov lang..

Ture yan about the "Gold" investment.  Imagine bili ng mom ko dati usd220 lang, now usd1000 na market price.

I don't think it's a good investment. Of course the alahera will say that the jewelry appreciates in value but it's not true at all times.. Unless it's like an heirloom piece, I'd rather invest my money elsewhere..

hi , for the gold rate price per gram it really depends, it keeps on changing daily like today a 22 karat here in UAE cost 1700 per gram.

i'll share my experience with gold investment well its good thing din namn to invest in gold parang stock market din u should know when u have to buy it, pag mababa go and buy, and it really increase its value.

like mine i bought a gold bar. workth  60k, now the value of it is around 96k na so i think it depends talaga u just hv to know when is the right time to invest in things.

and if u all plan to invest in gold jewelry would suggest to get the 22karat instead of 18karat since its higher in value.

I go with the gold bars thing for investment.

However, there is an alternative.   
There are gold jewelries .. 22K yes... that are already in jewelry form.
When you buy these, these are weighed and the price is converted to what you would pay that day for  equivalent weight gold bars. 
There are a couple of stores we source from near HK Lan Kwai Fong area.
Djakarta Indonesia is another source of ours too.

At least, gamit gamit mo ... (hehe   parang in your face!   kaya I stick to bangles and bracelets, the occasional ring (some think it is just some chunky uso now na statement ring,  hehe   okay , safer).     alangan naman mag mukha akong mooo cow with a thick necklace.. errr mukhang Customs or Arabian Nights?  hehe) 

Get certificates for all your gold purchases!


As for paintings... be careful.  be very very careful.  Even  collectors may mga naisahan na ryan.   
As for rolling up and investment portability.. eh di mas madali bringing out jewelry than paintings.   IMO,  jewelry has more marketability and flexibility than paintings.   The market for high end paitnings here is small.  Outside the Phils... only a handful of artists can be marketed, and you gotta course it through Christie's or Sotheby's if you want to max the price potential.

I don't see jewelries as investments... we have this kasi mahilig sa alahas ang father ko
kaso sinasangla nya lang para sa bisyo nya

besides... nakakahinayang na bibilhin mo ng mahal and it would end up sa sanglaan

wala naman kami kilalang namimili ng alahas na worth 80k and up

i own 4 bracelets worth 60k, but i don't see them as investments

i see them as jewelry.. isusuot kapag may occasion, else itatago lang para hindi mahold-up

it's good to have land and jewelries as investments coz they don't depreciate.

i love jewelry (gold)....i buy them for use not for the reason na investment yun... as time passed by tumataas talaga ang value, just like the necklace i bought in 2006 at P6k when I had it pawned last year it is already P5k to think most jewelry stores appraise value is 2/3 only. So more or less P7.5k na value ng necklace ko.

My buying tips: I buy "unredeemed" jewelries from pawnshops. It is much cheaper than buying a new jewelry.

I think jewelry is a good investment only if you're a bit liquid and have other assets/investments as well.  I have had a good experience already in investing in jewelry. I bought a charm bracelet for only 3k almost 10 years ago. It was a good deal naman, but I got to sell it for 8k just last year so that I could get another piece that I like

there's this tennis necklace that's being offered to me for 120k... it's a good deal and I'm still thinking if I should get it sana really good payment terms. haha

around december, P1400 per gram. April P1500 per gram. then ngayon parang nasa P1580 na eh. Sa 18K yan.

For me naman, we buy Jewelry as "emergency" items.. Hindi naman siya masasabing Investment talaga..  Kasi gold ang pinakamadaling ma sangla.. So we have those jewelry as back up. The best investment pa rin [textspeak!] real estate..

Just wanna share, bumili kami ng gold ring nung mga 1999, worth 3k, kasi "unredeemed" din un,  nasangla namin dahil merong emergency sa bahay, guess what, worth 15k yung value! kaya, tinago na namin un..

dati naisip ko rin mag invest sa jewelries kaso hindi naman talaga ako mahilig dyan kaya hindi ko na tinuloy.. tumataas nga ata talaga yung value nun pero kung gagawin ko yung investment..tas pag biglang isang araw nagipit ako, mapipilitan akong ibenta yun ng wala sa oras ng mas murang halaga. lugi pa ko.

i don't agree with it.  kasi kung kelangan mo ng pang  emergency, hindi mo naman maibibenta/maisasangla yan sa halagang gusto mo. opinion ko lang po.

I've been thinking about this for a while.

Except for those with sentimental value (wedding ring, for example), what will be one reason why I should keep jewelry? Does it really appreciate in value?

If not, I'll just give them up then use the money somewhere else.

My tita, who belongs to the generation of women who loves jewelry and believes in investing in them, bought a LOT of items. As in almost lahat ng sweldo niya nung dalaga pa siya, the money she got from retirement, etc, she bought jewelries with. Meron pa siyang mga lose diamonds na hindi pa napapa-set. She is a housewife now, so hindi niya yun ginagamit lahat. ----Ayun, naakyat bahay sila...Nawala lahat. Ang natira lang ay yung suot niya nung araw na yon, which doesn't cost that much.

Halos mamatay kakaiyak kapag naaalala niya. Sheesh.

i partly agree that jewelry is considered as an investment.  over time, the market value appreciates.  but do not sell in cases of emergency.  just like stocks and mutual funds, you cannot sell when the market is low.  jewelry shouldn't be pawned, malulugi ka talaga dyan.  sell at a good price because jewelry appreciates in value.  IMO, it's better to buy jewelry than keep buying shoes, bags and clothes.  the latter, di talaga considered as investments.  case to case basis din, kasi my mom is into jewelry business.  old stocks (jewelry pieces)  that were bought years ago double or triple their value when she sells these.

I have to agree with jewelry as investment. Here in Australia kasi, napakamahal ng gold jewelry... when my father in law had an accident and nasira yun 18k gold ring nya, the company compensated for the loss and pina appraise nila sa jeweler kung magkano ang market value nun ring na yun.. eh he bought it for 6k pesos lang daw sa pinas but it was appraised for $800! Kagulat!

So my husband and I are slowly buying gold jewelry para if kelanganin namin dito sa Australia, madali magbenta. Marami pa syang 22k gold jewelry cuz his Dad and Grandpa worked in Saudi before so marami silang naipon na 22k
