nung nasa Macau kami sa agoda ako ng book , I did not call the hotel, . 3 months prior to our flight ako ng book and so far okey naman walang hassle

Two times na akong nakapag book sa Agoda so far ok naman. Last was in Boracay 3 months ahead ako nag book pero ok naman din.

In our experience, ok naman agoda if you book international hotels. I think nagkaka problem if you book a hotel  in the Philippines. Here in the philippines, wala kasi consumer support.  I have tried asking help from DTI, pero useless lang. Tsk tsk.

yes sis..and ang alam ko they allow cancellation mga 3 weeks to 1 month bago ma credit ulit sa CC account mo yong na charged.

Mga sisses question lang po.. Nung nagbook kayo ng international hotel (ie macau) did you book sa local currency ng macau or was it in usd or php?

I work for a credit card company kasi. And i received a call once about a customer who booked through agoda and he was charged in his local currency which turned outto be more expensive because of the exchange rate that agoda is using.

Is it better to book in the local currency where the hotel is in, or usd or php?

I wanna book through agoda kasi and natatakot ako baka ibang amount yung mag appear sa credit card ko just like that customer i talked to. Nasa disputes dept ako ng credit card and we couldnt help him. I think he had no luck with agoda either.

^^Sis, ako naman I prefer to book (I once booked Marco Polo HK thru agoda) using our local currency (SGD) para makita ko na agad ang exact babayaran ko. If I'll book using USD kasi, hindi ko alam kung ano magiging exchange rate sa posting date ng credit card.

I always use agoda. For our hotel bookings internationally - never had a problem with them. After booking, didnt have to check with thehotel , unless i would need to confirm something like request for adjacent rooms or the like.

I've also used it locally, and no problems naman with the booking. As to cancellation, as long as the type of room you had booked had a free cancellation policy, you wont be charged. I did a cancellation with agoda before and it was refunded to my account.

As to currency, i often use the currency of the country where i will be staying.

Sis water_sprite, I booked in Philippine pesos. May option naman kasi to see the prices in pesos before you book. Tapos, just before you pay, makikita mo na ang total in the currency you chose. True enough, yung total sa Agoda is the same sa amount na na-charge sa card ko.

I don't know about Agoda's exchange rates are, but mas mura kasi yung Agoda prices kesa sa website prices nung hostel na I booked.

Thrice na yata ako nakapag book sa Agoda. Okay naman. sayang nga lang ang points kasi di ko nagagamit sa mga sumunod na bookings.

Ive often used agoda, pero no worries so far. What i do is i make sure that the hotel ive booked with will also confirm. Minsan i email or call before booking, or even after booking, kahit long distance itatawag ko just to ensure na they have received my booking.

Kinakabahan lang ako with dumaluan beach resort for december kasi ive read bad reviews re reservations missed ng dbr which is totally not agoda's fault. I called them up kahapon and received naman daw nila ang booking ko, kaasar lang kasi nag email ako wa kaber sila, tas nung tumawag ako dun lang nagreply sa email.

Used agoda for our macau and hk hotels too. Smooth naman...

I have three hotels/resort booked via agoda currently, and i expect na madagdagan pa ito. Haha.

Be careful lang dun sa rates, kasi may taxes pa yun, minsan nangyayare ka price na nila yung regular rates, so deal directly with the hotel na lang if thats the case, nagkamali na ako ng ganyan. Haha..

I use agoda to check the available hotels and get a feel of the prices.  I had problem with my first booking with them and will never book with them again. More often than not, mas makakamura to book directly sa hotel. 

Since you will coordinate din naman with the hotel to check the booking why not just book directly sa hotel? Pag nagka problem dalawa pa kausap mo at magtuturuan pa sila kung sino may kasalanan just like what happened to me. If may online reservation available sa hotel, why not book directly with them.

One of the most recommended accomodation sa hongkong, wala sa Agoda.  Yung Macau hotel na napili ko meron sa agoda, pero if you buy sa agoda your credit card will be charged right away while ang reservation sa hotel itself, ang charge sa credit card mo eh sa day pa ng travel mo.  So prepaid ka if you book sa agoda. 

Yung room na napili ko sa agoda no cancellation pero sa hotel you can still cancel a few days before your reserved date.

A lot of people sinasabi cheaper ang rates sa Agoda compared sa rates na makikita mo sa website ng hotel.  please mind na ang naka post sa agoda is NOT yet inclusive of taxes and service charges. Base on experience, you will end up with the same rate as the hotel or sometimes mas mahal pa ng konti.

And there is this foreign currency conversion that you have check. May makakatipid ka ba sa rate na gamit ng Agoda?

Pag nagkaproblem ka sa booking mag email ka at antay sa sagot nila. kung gusto mo ng immediate answer you have make an international call.  Sa sobrang panic ko when i learned wala ang booking ko sa hotel sa nabayaran ko na fully paid 2months ago pa, i made an international call to Agoda, and they made me wait for 15mins. And who knows kung kelan nila binalikan ang call ko kasi after 15mins i dropped the line, ang mahal na kaya ng babayan ko.

Swerte kayo mga sisse at di kayo nagka problem but for me yung stress, time, cost of money and the additional phone cost i have to bear will not make me book with agoda again. These are my experiences and thoughts - just sharing.

ok naman experience ko so far sa Agoda. i've been booking with them for years na din.. mapa-domestic, Asia, Europe, Middle East -- na-try ko na sa kanila. tho may times, cheaper to book directly with the hotel (if for example, may own promo/package ang hotel exclusive to their website). so before booking, I always compare magkano sa Agoda vs direct sa hotel. I also compare the inclusions (e.g. transfers, breakfast, etc).

what i usually do pag super-aga ako nag-book (like more than a month), I email the hotel to reconfirm my booking about a week before arrival.

Minsan, mas mura sa hotel directly, pero more often than not, nakakatipid ako sa rates sa Agoda, and nagamit ko yung rewards ko to book a free night.

so far okay naman sakin yung agoda. Years ago ng book ako with them 8 hours before my flight to my destination (India), when I arrived in my hotel, the hotel does not have my info so I just showed them my agoda booking and then they checked me in.

I remember last year nun nasa SG kami yung nasa front desk PINOY, I booked through asiaroom,
sabi nya why did I not use agoda, most of their bookings daw availed agoda

so nung nagbook ako sa Macau that same year nag agoda na ko so far okey walang hassle,

hi mga sis.. correct me if im wrong.. im currently looking sa agoda and also contacted directly a certain hotel. now ang quote nung hotel is 2600/night.. then nagcheck ako sa agoda with that same hotel and ang price nila is 2321.43 plus service fee 278.57 ... so pag na-total siya 2600 din ang lumalabas..

^medyo misleading lang talaga pag ganun. haha.. anyway, ganun din ginawa ko nung pumunta kame ng ibang bansa.. mura yung agoda compare sa price ng hotel sa website nila. so kinontak ko parin yung hotel at luckily may promo sila na hindi naman nila inaadvertise. siguro pag may nagtanong lang sa kanila. almost 5thousand pesos din yung nabawas sa total na kailangan naming bayaran
