Pajoin ako dito, nasa planning process ako ng aming 6-day trip sa Kansai area. Wala pa kong nasisimulan except nakakuha ako ng itinerary from tour companies sa travel madness haha. OA kasi ng rates nila tapos puro optional tours. Ang hotel mamahalin pa e keri lang naman sakin ang backpacking hostel. Nung una inisip ko pa baka posible mag Tokyo via overnight bus pero bitin ata sa oras. Tas pag tren, mas mahal pa yun sa airfare ko. So stick na lang kami ni hubby sa Osaka muna.

Basa basa muna ko dito pero gusto ko gayahin yung kay unwantedP hehe. Nov. 27-Dec. 2 naman yung trip namin. First time ko mag DIY trip, first time din namin sa Japan kung sakali.

Thanks mich2526!  Another question though, we'll be staying in Osaka but also going to Kyoto and Tokyo.  You thinki it's doable given that it's Obon?  Mahirap ba talaga magtravel during that time?  Super thanks.  Worried lang ako kasi I plan to buy a JR Pass, baka hindi ko magamit pagpunuan ang trains, eh ang mahal pa naman!  Thanks!

I changed my mind and decided that we will stay in Kyoto rather than Osaka as Kyoto is so pretty.  In any case, the Osaka hotel I previously booked can be cancelled for no cost at booking dot com.  Booked Royal Park Hotel Kyoto because of the good reviews.  However, my husband thinks it is a bit pricey. For the size of the room (28 square meters with 2 double beds + 1 single bed), it's a lot cheaper than Granvia (30 square meters for a double room with extra long beds).  I'm looking at other hotels but they're too tiny (19-22 square meters) or have mixed reviews.  We're travelling with two children.  Can anyone recommend an alternative hotel in Kyoto ideal for a family of four?

^^Punuan usually ang trains pag obon parang isipin mo sa atin nag uuwian, ganong level. pero kung shinkansen naman, basta bili ka nung reserved seats sure makakaupo ka. sulit ang JR east kapag 2x ka sasakay ng shinkansen.

regarding hotels in kyoto, i just stayed at Hotel Shuhokaku, it's a ryokan so naka yukata kami, at may onsen. we stayed in a tatami room! fun siya

Sisses help naman po. Need help in doing our itinerary. I will be arriving in kansai tapos flying out nagoya. We also need to go to mie-ken kasi may house yung friend ko dun. Im confused kasi sa trains nila.

^you still have to apply for a visa.  We just got ours a week ago.

Mitch2526, we'll be staying for 6 days.  We're waiting for our JR Passes to be delivered here this week.  Balak namin sulitin ito by going to Tokyo and Kyoto while having Osaka as our base.  I hope tama yung decision namin by buying the pass.  Hehe.

May I have your inputs on our planned iti?

Day 1- Aug 7 arrival at Kix 8pm
         - straight to the hotel (Dormy Inn or Hotel Chuo Oasis)

Day 2 - Aug 8 -- Universal
         - go around Dotonburi/Umeda if we still have the energy hehe

Day 3 - Aug 9 -- Kyoto

Day 4 - Aug 10 -- Tokyo

Day 5 - Aug 11 -- either go back to Tokyo or go around Osaka

Day 6 - Aug 12 -- go around Osaka (Namba)
           flight back is at 8:40pm

Granted that it's Obon, you think this is doable?  Should I go to Tokyo earlier like on Friday?

6 days 6 nights din kami in osaka, late november naman. pero Osaka-Hiroshima-Kyoto kami hiwalay na trip na lang ang Tokyo, parang bitin kasi 2 days

^^ Are you booking a tour for Kawaguchi/Mount Fuji or DIY?  Please share your itinerary including how to get there.  Nalilito pa ko if we should take a bus or train from Tokyo.  We're doing 4 days Kyoto with 1 day in Osaka and 4 days Tokyo.

@byutijunkie, Kyoto has more beautiful sights than Osaka. I suggest you allot more time there.

Hi sisses! Tip lang sa mga pupunta sa USJ. Pila kayo agad sa timed-entry ticket machine for Harry Potter. Kahit dumating ako ng opening time, kinailangan ko pang maghintay ng isang oras bago makapasok. Pero sulit naman, especially for HP fans.

Hi guys!  I'm in Osaka right now after a really bad Cebu Pacific flight!  The worst grabeh.  Anyway, thanks for the tips.  They said may bagyo in 2 days so we're hoping to still get our money's worth specially from the JR Pass.

Mitch2526, thanks for the advice.  Will add another day in Tokyo.  6 days kami.  We're leaving on Tuesday.  Yes, i'll be getting some tips from your iti hehe.  My hubby wants to see old Japan, so Kyoto is on top of our must-sees.  Ako naman, habol ko is Japanese pop culture kaya Harajuku, Shinjuku etc pupuntahan namin in Tokyo. 

Sleypars, super dami ba sa USJ ngayon?   We're going there today.  We got our tickets from the airport.  May Jr train going to USJ right?

Hi. Nagbook na kami ng hotel sa Umeda. OK lang ba dun? Wala na kasing cheap sa Namba... we're thinking of getting JR West lang kasi di na kami mag Tokyo.
