Hi mga sis! We had the most amazing time in Japan! Share ko lang sa inyo yung itinerary namin. Actually we shop siguro almost 50% of the time and hindi na sunod yung talagang official itinerary ko. Mahirap talaga pag may kasamang bata and oldies =) Maraming lakaran sa buong Japan so ready your walking shoes. Ako nga nagkakalyo ako sa toe ko eh =)

Went during sakura season between April 3 to 12.
April 3 to 7 – Osaka & Kyoto ( I will post on specific gtalk topic)
April 7 to 12 – Tokyo ( I will post on specific gtalk topic)

April 3 (Thursday) - Check in at APA VILLA YODOYABASHI HOTEL (Osaka).
Tip – always ask the airport information for the best way to go to your hotel coz it just took us 30 minutes travel compared to the 50 minutes travel on what the hotel staff says =)
Airport Limousine Bus is the best way to go.

Hotel review – super liit ang room pero tutulugan mo lang naman so ok na. May free onsen sa basement which is open till 1am. 2 minutes walk lang from subway. I recommend this hotel.
May convenience store nearby so we always buy food there =)

April 4 (Friday) – went to Sakuranomiya Station
This is where we see our 1st sakura viewing. This is a park that has a river in between and its free. Endless photo taking.

Went to Nearby is HEP (Hankyu Entertainment Park) is a red giant ferris wheel that got lots of shops nearby.

April 5 (Saturday) – Went to Osaka Castle
Where: The recommended approach to Osaka Castle is through Otemon Gate at the park's southwestern corner. The closest station is Tanimachi 4-chrome Station along the Tanimachi Subway Line and Chuo Subway Line. The closest JR station to Osaka Castle is Osakajokeo on the JR Loop Line, a 10 minute and 160 yen ride from JR Osaka Station.

Didn’t pay to see the inside garden coz parehas lang ang sakura sa loob and sa labas =)

Had lunch with my Osakan friend at Ganko (1st time to eat traditional Japanese Restaurant and he paid for everything =)

Shinsaibashi Suji (between Umeda & Namba) – arcade shopping and may Tokyu Hands (its like arts and crafts store).


April 6 (Sunday) – Heard mass at a Catholic Church at Osaka Umeda Catholic Church. Di naming na abutan yung English so Japanese na lang =)

In the afternoon went to Shin Osaka Station to change our JR Pass to tickets and went to Kyoto (20 minutes ride via Shinkansen).

Go to Kyoto Tourist Information Center and buy 500 yen one day pass ticket for bus 100. Almost all temples mapupuntahan nito.

I think we just manage to see 3 temples. Its very touristy and daming nagbebenta sa streets or is just Sunday? =)

Yes 10 days whole japan trip namin. Kaya 7 days, you just need to manage and schedule what are the things you really want to see

Nagbasa na ako ng mga posts pero sakit pa rin ulo ko intindihin kung anong pass bibilhin para sa transpo. Ang dami nun nasa listahan sa osaka transportation info.

Kaya puros taxi fare kinocompute ko just in case malito na talaga plus kinukumpara ko if sa x3 na tao baka same lang lalabas. Kaso hindi, ang mahal pag taxi kaya  iniintindi ko ito:

Relax na sightseeing lang target ko dahil last week lang kami nakapagdecide to visit Japan, naiayos ko naman na ang visa kaya itong transpo naman ang isusunod ko. Parang ang hirap kasi maligaw if may bata na kasama.

Ok ba ivisit pa ang USJ? Yun aquarium at ferris wheel lang kasi nilagay ko na pambata, 50-50 pa ako sa USJ pero nandun na naman so go na?

Fourever bili ka ng jrpass. Kami we came from tokyo (delta airlines) then went to fuji tapos kyoto, hindi na kami ng osaka. We used our jr pass and nasulit naman namin siya.

Is it true that Filipino Passport holders won't need to obtain Visa in order to visit Japan starting June? If yes, do you know how long is the maximum duration of stay?

^ jtansanco, as far as I know, the visa-free entry policy for PH passport holders remain to be a plan, so it may still be a while before this really happens. Since the plans have not been firmed up, so there was no mention on the maximum duration of stay just yet.

I was there October last year. weather was ok. But if you are wishing for autumn colors, then it might still be a little early for that. Maybe late November e meron na burst of colors. Budget depends really on your hotel preferences etc. I got by with less than 40k for the whole of my 4 day stay.

Can anyone recommend a cheap but decent hotel in Osaka?  Preferably near the subway/train station and merong malapit na convenience stores.  My trip is in August na kasi and wala pakong hotel.  Btw, just how hot is it there during summer?  Parang dito rin ba -- shorts lang puwede na? Tia! =)

Mga sis what would be your take on this? Kasi i bought a promo fare rt ticket manila-narita from Sep 7-16.. I checked the jr pass and it will cost us 15k pag bumili ng 7day pass. So i was thinking to rebook nlng may ticket , so what happens is mla-osaka-tokyo-manila na ang ticket ko and instead of 10 days i will adjust our stay to 15 days para mas relaxed yung pace namin.  The total expenses for 3pax will be 12k. Tapos willer bus na overnight nlng sasakyan namin going to tokyo. Do you think it' s a wiser decision? Or mas tipid pa din ang jr pass? Plan ko lang puntahan kyoto, osaka, tokyo, gotemba, disney sea. No nara or kobe or other distant attractions.

I am so confused whether to pursue with our original flight and take jr pass or rebook and spend 12k and take the bus. Baka mas malaki pa gastos kasi we have to buy an individual ticket pa to travel around.
Any idea mga sisses?

Has anyone experienced being in Osaka during Obon Festival?  The shops naman siguro are open right?
