was at kiyomizudera temple last year and may area dun near the train station na shopping area.  have you been there?

Yep! Maraming trinkets dun nakakatuwa! tsaka sobrang laki nung temple ang ganda.

We're planning on an Osaka trip for January, before classes resume from the holiday break. Going with kids ages 11 and 9. Ok ba to stay overnight in Kyoto? D kaya sila ma-bore dun?

^maraming ganyan shops near the kiyomizudera temple in higashiyama. i saw a lot of couples and kids in traditional japanese clothes in that area =) cute nga eh kaso wala na kaming time and yup, usually you have to set an appointment

Nung summer sa kyoto naka yukata kang ako, as in ako lang nagsuot kasama ng mga friends ko, then biglang may mga foreigners nag take ng picture, sumisigaw ng "maiko!" hahaha so funny. di ata nila napansin na naka sandals ako at walang make up.

Pero masaya! Kung ayaw niyo ng appointment bili ka lang ng souvenir yukata and then dress up on your own! Marami rin gumagawa nun.

Sis vhanya, natuwa naman ako sa citadines kyoto kasi aside sa super low yung rate na bigay nila sa kin, eh I asked for a favor na sana they can prepare a birthday cake para ke hubby, kasi yung 1st night namin eh birthday nya yun and yung trip kasi ang birthday gift ko sa kanya then sabi nila they will try to accommodate yung request ko tapos after two weeks they emailed me saying na okay na daw yung birthday cake and the surprise. I'm not expecting an immediate answer and arrangement from them kasi nga malayo pa pero they work it out as early as now. So excited na tuloy.

Wala lang just sharing. By the way, since we decided to go tokyo, we only have 1 day to check osaka, ano bang recommended places na hinde dapat namin mamiss sa osaka?

any recom na ok na hotel sa Osaka? gusto ko sana yung strategically located, near restos, shops, etc.

It all depends on the budget and accommodation type

Anyway for those staying in Kyoto, K's guesthouse is highly recommended!

^Not on a tight budget naman and it will be for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids.

Yup they are super nice! Most japanese are actually kaya super fave ko rin japan. In osaka, since it is the food capital of japan, don't forget to drop by dotonbori and sample the best ramen in ichiran ramen house. Its near the bridge.

^ depends..cross hotel is along the main road but malayo sa train station. fraser residence is just accross the train station. both are nice but i chose fraser

can't compare. haven't tried swissotel lols! =) but you can't go wrong with fraser

yes. but swissotel is more expensive. siwssotel nankai is just right on top of the nankai train station beside takashimaya dept store. so di ka na lalabas ng building to go to the train station. fraser naman nasa tapat na street so both are just near each other.

swissotel is nicer =) naalala ko na sya hehe

I'm so happy I found this thread! We are oing to Tokyo on nov 1 and will be in Japan until nov 13. Would you reco Osaka for 3 days? I am traveling with my hubby and 4yr old son. Ok ba o take the Shinkansen or bus na Lang from Shibuya Tokyo?
