My reply may be way too late, but I'd still wanna share. Wisconsin is just about a hour ride from Chicago (well, depending on the traffic), but it's still pretty close. We've been there to snowboard and to hear the Easter Mass at Holy Hill. Winters are more or less the same as Chicago, so expect it to be harsh!

thanks sis. yeah, was there last january. lamig sobra. that was my first time. first time din to step in US. akala ko yung cheeks ko masusunog at magchichicharon dahil sa ginaw.

^super lamig no? try to return by summer (june-aug) or spring! (my favorite season). actually nung nagsnowboard kami, it was last Feb. tas after snowboard nag-tubing kami super fun but at the same time, nakakaiyak na kasi ang lamig lamig! where in Wis did you stayed?

^sis, sa Radisson ako sa may downtown Racine. Lapit kasi dun yung office. i stayed for 3 weeks lang, pero super fun hehe yup namiss ko na un ganung lamig. mas malamig pa sa freezer! ohvverr!
sabi nga ng boss ko ganda na daw ng panahon dun ngayon.. sana makabalik.. have fun sis!

Hubby and I will be going to Oshkosh next year for the 2011 AirVenture Oshkosh in summer. I would be very interested to know what other sites to see near Oshkosh na pwede namin puntahan.

Yup, nice na yung weather this time of year, although patapos na din ang summer. Akyat ulet kami sa Wis this coming Labor Day weekend, overnight kami sa Lake Geneva. Medyo madaming activities dun kapag summer.

Hubby and I will be going to Oshkosh next year for the 2011 AirVenture Oshkosh in summer. I would be very interested to know what other sites to see near Oshkosh na pwede namin puntahan.

mama squeak, meron palang Oshkosh, WI hehe, ngayon ko lang nalaman. You can try to visit Milwaukee, mga 1 and half hr drive from Oshkosh, pati Lake Geneva. Balikan kita regarding Lake Geneva kasi this Sept pa lang kami pupunta.

Update ko lang, hubby and I will have one day to spend in Milwaukee. That's the nearest and cheapest airport kasi to Oshkosh. So, question ko lang, what can we do in one day or see in one day? I've narrowed down some attractions to see in downtown Milwaukee like the Harley-Davidson Museum, Miller Brewery, Third street, Brady street. Worth it ba to go to the Jelly Belly Factory? May kalayuan din kasi.

hindi pa ako nakapunta dun sa Jelly Belly Factory.
umikot lang kami dun sa miller brewery and sa harley davidson museum and bumili ng souvenirs. haha all in all, nagdrive lang kami around downtown Milwaukee. konting picture picture.
okay naman sis, super fun din. enjoy kayo!

naku sis, nagdrove around lang kami dun as in umikot lang, hindi kami nakapasok. but i guess, okay sha, kasi nun dumaan kami, maraming tao, as in parang pila un pumapasok, so i guess, talagang tourist attraction sha.

Oh, okay thanks! I'll have to do more research then. Since we only have a day, I might stick to 2 to 3 must-see places para di naman overloaded kami.

HI! This June you may want to check out yung Wisconsin Dells, ganda sya! Parang sosyal na Laguna. Tabi tabi mga Water theme parks, the kids will have a lot of fun. Gusto sana namin sa Kalahari, kaso punuan, we stayed at Great Wolf Lodge, it was very nice! Yung family suite is like two rooms each with 2 full sized beds. Free wifi. Good food, reasonable naman. Pero syempre you can also bring take out food kasi may kitchen din sa unit. Beside Kalahari, meron Outlet mall din, mababa ang sales tax kesa sa Chicago 7.5% lang or 7% vs. Chicago's 10.75% nakakaloka!

^Hi sis, we'll be going in July for the Airventure in Oshkosh. What do you mean by Laguna? Laguna Beach? We'll be going there too and staying for two nights. We'll be watching the Pageant of the Masters.

For outlet shopping, I usually go in Vegas, Akron (6.7% sales tax) or Woodbury. Mas mura their sales tax there.

^If the Jelly Belly factory tour's anything like the one in Fairfield, CA, it's a good experience din naman. The factory tour took around 45mins. They'll just show you step by step how they make the beans, where the names come from, flavor suggestions, famous people who love it, mosaic artwork made of beans. No photos allowed during the tour and you have to wear the paper envelope-type hat they hand out. They give away free bags of jelly beans after.

^Thanks, flygirl! It's now a choice between beer, bikes and jelly beans. Let's see who will win. 
Seriously, hubby and I will only have one day in Milwaukee. After the Airventure we might want to take it easy-easy lang. The Jelly Bean factory kasi is about an hour's drive pa from MKE. But will see who know's baka sipagin yung driver ko.

^I'll pm you soon after your trip to inquire re your Wisconsin itin, etc. I want to take my hubby to the Airventure, too! Maybe in 2 years for our 10th anniversary. Sad nga he can't tag along next month for our trip to Nellis AFB. Plan on doing the area 51 tour. Planes, planes, planes... (no alien/UFO things hehe) Have fun!
