Also, which do you prefer? Yung may dash yung surname nyo or use talaga yung surname ni hubby? Pros and Cons?

^ako sis I'll use my husband's surname sa lahat. Medyo mahaba na kasi name ko and hassle if super haba pa my surname. I'll use my maiden name as my middle name naman.

^may nabasa ako sis, lalo na pag mga doctors/lawyers, etc. nag-da-dash lang sila. di ko lang sure if pati mga IDs nila naka-dash din.

Kaya yan sis. I got married May 2015, gave birth December 2015. I was able to get NSO copy by September. What i did, nagrequest ako 1 copy online sa ecensus website. Got it after 3days. Since sure na ko na may NSO copy available na, tsaka ako nagrequest ng madaming copya sa SM. Mas mura kasi and available after 7days yata. Binigyan ko din kasi husband ko ng nso copies since kailangan nya din to update his records.

Mabilis na mag update sa sss/others especially you're preggo. May courtesy lane kasi. Haha

^sis yun nga talaga ang habol ko, yung courtesy lane, lol. kaya gusto ko sana makakuha ng umid before ako manganak. pati PRC and driver's license ko kelangan ko na ayusin before ako manganak, para priority pa ko. hehe.

Yung sa friend ko, hyphenated gamit nya even sa IDs nya. So she didn't drop her mom's maiden name. Yun pa din gamit nyang middle name and the last name she uses now is herlastname-herhusband's. I'm not sure though if kung sa baby nila eh hyphenated din.

^sis ako nagrenew driver's license ko 6-7 months pa lang ako preggy, kaso ang manas ko sa pic! So hindi ko na change name yung passport ko kasi ayoko maging manas sa pic ang tagal pa naman. Pero 5 months post partum nagchange name na ako, mejo manas pa din. hehe

Re: passport pala. Kasi yung passport ko valid pa til 2019, eh plan namin lumipad to US by 2017. So okay lang ba na maiden name ko pa gamit ko dun tapos yung mga IDs ko eh married name ko na? Or do i have to have my passport updated na din?

Ako i have not updated my passport yet.  I have a trip in May gagamitin ko muna old, will bring a copy of my marriage cert na lang.

Hindi ako nag update nung preggo ako since i wasn't at my prettiest then (hehe). I will update na lang when i get back after this trip, sasabay na lang ako kay baby para mabilis pa din. Ü

Hi sis! The law doesn't require naman to change your name to your married name sa passport. Wala rin namang civil status sa passport, sayang rin kung papa-renew mo before expiration. Bring a copy na lang of your marriage certificate in case mag-ask IO's natin.  I called DFA hotline rin naman and they confirmed this. Hubby and I will travel to HK this March with my family, 2018 pa expiration ng passport ko so ganun gagawin ko hehe!

How do I know if available na sa NSO ang marriage certificate namin? I have to get my UMID asap but they don't accept CTC daw from the local registry.

Hello,

If you are aware that your record of marriage has been forwarded by the local civil registry office (LCRO) to our end, you may visit our central outlet in East Avenue and request for a copy. Kindly bring your personal copy if any for reference. Otherwise, you may get in touch with your LCRO and ask for endorsement.

^Sis, ang sabi three months daw from wedding date, pwede na.

August kami kinasal, by first week of December, I just ordered online and paid. And then after a few days, may delivery na. I never bothered to check if available. Not sure though, if sasabihin online if it's available or not.

October kami kinasal last friday nakakuha na kaming copy ng MC namin. 2019 pa rin yun expiry ng passport ko so diko muna papalitan sayang naman. Yun middle name and surname ko nung dalaga pa ako ang gagawin kong middle name ngaun so lalabas 2 middle initials ko. Gusto ko sana i-dash pero ang haba kasi ng name ko baka dina magkasiya sa mga forms.

^baka nga pagalitan ako hahaha. di naman nila alam na married na ko. saka ko na haharapin yun galit nila pag asa process na ko ng pagpapalit.

Salamat mga sis. I called the local registry where we got married and naiforward na daw nila sa NSO. When i tried to request online may disclaimer dun na 10-15 days ang process since very recent pa yung wedding date namin, and most probably negative certificate pa kasi baka wala pa yung MC namin. Anyway antayin ko na lang sa March siguro since it's almost 3 months naman na since our wedding. Para sure hehe
