^Yes, no need to go to SSS.

Yun ang isang concern ko sis, sagad yung bracket ko when I was employed and now sana I'm planning to lower it kahit konti, pero sayang nga daw yung previous contributions ko pag nagbaba ako ngayon.  :(

Maka-count naman lahat ng contributions at the end of the day (i.e. pension time). Saka pwede mo naman itaas uli later on.

Pero kung gusto mo ilower ang contribution, you have to ask for approval from SSS.

Pero balak ko itaas ulet every other year.

Did you seek for SSS' approval first when you lowered your contribution? If not, then magkakaproblema ka in the future. Before you can claim for benefits, titingnan nila yan. Bubusisiin. Na-experience na rin namin yan when my mother applied for pension. May mga irregularities daw so kinailangan pang isettle.

You can't just pay kung magkano ang gusto mo. There are rules. Of course the cashier or bank will just accept your payments.

Hi mrsB,

If I may, sa pagkakaalam ko po if the change is more than 2 salary brackets you'll fill-up the declaration of earnings sa RS-5 form. Nakaindicate kasi sa number 3 sa form. Hindi pa ba enough yun?

Nagbaba din po kasi ako ng bracket but not more than two so I'm concerned if this would be flagged later on. Kasi diba parang given narin na di talaga consistent ang monthly income when you're self-employed at voluntary as compared sa mga employed sa company.

Thanks.

^ When I had a seminar sa SSS (for our company), we were reminded by the speaker na sabihan ang mga employees about this. Actually paminsan paiba-iba tayo ng naririnig, so better be safe than sorry.

Ang alam ko talaga dapat same bracket from employed to voluntary. And then later on, pag matagal ng nagvovoluntary, saka pwedeng magchange ng bracket na hanggang 2 salary grade.

Let's make this clear. So pwedeng magfluctuate ang income mo. Pero yun nga, dapat me proof ka. Pag voluntary, dapat fixed ang contributions. Pwede lang magbago after a certain time. Hindi pwedeng two months ka pa lang naghuhulog as bracket 10 tapos bracket 8 na sa 3rd month.

Basta ganyan. So I suggest na kung hindi sigurado, magpunta muna sa SSS para di masayang ang payment. Saka know their exact rules when it comes to increase and decrease in bracket. Kasi pwedeng isoli lang ng SSS ang mga payments mo without acknowledging it as contribution later on.  ;)

Ahh okay sis, thank you for clearing up.

I'll call them nalang para i-ask re changes sa MSC.

Thanks!

mag-take effect na ba yung new contributions starting January 2014? naka-auto debit ako so ibig sabihin automatic mag-apply na rin kaya yung increased amounts?

Napaisip ako regarding this case... Nag-email kasi ako dati sa kanila about it na ibababa ko yung payment and they told me just to fill out yung nasa RS-5 form na finifill-up natin as "Voluntary". And I'm planning to pay the whole year next year dahil sakit sa ulo na pabalik balik ka sa payment centers.

Some ways I know are by online payment thru Bancnet-affiliated banks (http://www.bancnetonline.com) , and pwede ring via automatic debit agreement (need mo pa ito ienrol personally sa bank), para automatic ikakaltas nya sa bank account mo regularly ang loan payment.  ;)

I saw the new monthly premium ng SSS effective Jan 2014 in the newspaper today and I realized  that probably its better for me to reactivate my membership. :P

I was registered at SSS in 2007 because I was privately employed. In 2008, I went to work in a government hospital naman and being the financially illiterate person that I was before, I forgot all about SSS. I was out from government service since 2010 and has been self-employed since then.

I do plan to reactivate my membership especially now that I recently got married. I actually planned to reactivate it a year ago but since I'll be changing my civil status naman na within a year, I decided to wait for 2013 na lang. From what I've read sa SSS website, I have to drop by sa SSS office because I have to fill out a form changing my membership status from employed to self-employed and a photocopy of any of the ff: birth certificate, baptismal certificate, PRC ID, passport, etc (and of course, since I'm married already, I'll bring na rin a copy of my marriage certificate).

Question: Since there will be a new premium contribution rates effective in less than a month, is it advisable that I go ahead with reactivation this December or sa January na lang? Personally, I just want to get it over with na since baka tamarin na naman ako.  ;D Thank you!

magtataas ng premium ang SSS... yehey!! :D lol

^ I heard that too sa news. Hayz =(
