^Sis, ako voluntary contributor ako.  Yung hulog mo varies (look for SE/VM/OFW total contribution).  Dyan ka pipili.  Note na hindi pwede paiba iba ang hulog mo.  Pwedeng every two years increase mo yung hulog mo to the next available amount.  I do suggest na towards your 10th year, saka mo taasan ang iyong hulog.

http://www.sss.gov.ph/sss/index2.jsp?secid=111&cat=2

Same as what our other sister said, you can make your hulog quarterly.

Ganito ang deadline:

If for Jan, Feb or March... deadline is April 10.
Apr, May or June ... deadline is July 10.
Jul, Aug or Sept ... deadline is Oct 10.
Oct, Nov or Dec .... deadline is Jan 10.

You can pay either quarterly or monthly if you want.  Basta take note of the deadlines for every month.  You can also pay in advance.  Let's say for the whole year.  But you cannot pay for previous months basta nag natapos na ang deadline.

sis ask ko lang regarding sa deadline na sinasabi mo naconfuse kase ako.. bakit sabi mo every 10th of the month? i have cousin kase na nagwowork sa sss and he told me na every 20th of the month daw ang deadline pag quarterly..  alin ba talaga na confuse ako bigla eh.

edit ko lang post ko, base sa nakita ko eto po yung deadline of contribution pag self employed o kaya e pag employee..

Ask ko lang medyo OT pero regarding Philhealth. After 10 years, pwede mo rin makuha ang lump sum?

Common misunderstanding po ito... Philhealth is a sort of MEDICAL INSURANCE... meaning, covered ka for a period na nagbabayad ka... parang kotse, pag bayad ka ng insurance for a certain year, pag nabangga ka, makaka-claim ka... pag di ka na nagbabayad, wala na...

so unlike SSS, walang long term pension or lump sum na makukuha sa philhealth after years ng paghuhulog... pero ang meron ata sila ay lifetime insurance for those senior citizens na nakahulog ng 10 years (although kumplikadong process ito at mahirap ang approval)...

hi mga sis! ask lang po. nag member ako sa SSS last 2003 pa. since then hindi ko hinulugan SSS ko kasi self employed ako. ngaun gusto ko sya hulugan sayang din kasi. ano po dapat ko gawin kung gusto ko maghulog as voluntary member? kapag self employed baka hanapan pa ko ng ITR eh. pwede bang mag fill up na lang ako ng RS5 form sa mga bayad center like SM payment center then checked the amount na gusto ko bayaran? TIA  :)

personally, that's what i did.  I wanted to continue my SSS contributions when i left the private sector so i opted for voluntary membership.  specifically, i went to SM Southmall coz they have a counter dedicated to SSS payments (plus its accessible to me).  i filled up the RS5 Form (you only have to enter your sss number and other personal details) then i indicated the amount i wanted to contribute.  SM machine validates the RS5 form and prints out a receipt too.  I even observed that in this method, my contributions are always updated (i always check my contributions online kasi)

IMO, worth it naman kahit papano ang SSS contribution. After leaving the working world, tinuloy ko monthly contributions as a voluntary member. I already tried getting a salary loan nga pala before and I was able to claim the maximum allowed maternity claims. I have 4 kids na kasi. I just got my last claim check yesterday. :)

i work abroad and im thinking to continue my SS contributions here.. i have a somehow weird question ;-)

kasi sa mga naririnig ko with whats happening with the GSIS money being corrupted and all .. possible kaya dumating sa point na you dont get your pension kasi nakurakot na yung money? kasi hindi ba sabi nila madami daw ghost employee who avail of the loans and all .. so ayan medyo jaded lang sa government institutions kasi if not id rathe get another insurance company for my retirement though i already have one ... hahha sorry kung medyo paranoid ..

basically is SSS "that" stable? i mean corruption proof? .. TIA!

Hi, mga sisses, baka me makatulong sa akin, I'm working abroad & I started my voluntary contribution nung 2008, my sis paid it every month in the Phils. kasi nga last Oct 2009 I tried to pay here through money exchange, yung payment ko is for July-Sep 2009 but until now when I checked my contributions di pa rin na ka post. Pero when I checked my loan last week me utang pa rin ako kahit na naka post na [textspeak!] payment ko. I asked my sis to go to sss then they told that na kailangan daw na mag fill up ng loan condonation pero wala naman clang sinabi kaya nagkipag argue yung sis ko dahil 2 kami nakarinig ng instructions nya. If they gave  proper instructions & info  e di sana wala na akong loan na dapat bayaran. I already sent a mesage to their email which I thought will help me to solve my prob but til today walang reply from them.

My question lang po... I am a self-employed or voluntary member since 2000 kasi I have a business there in PI tapos I went abroad to live w/ hubby on 2004, pero my SIL continued paying for my SSS until now, since sha ang nagmamanage ng business na naiwan. I am currentlly pregnant w/ twins and hubby and I decided to have my delivery on a private hospital here abroad. Though it will be quite expensive, his company  naman will shoulder for the expenses. My question is, can I still avail my maternity benifit sa SSS even if I am abroad? If yes, paano kaya? Sayang din kasi if may makakakuha that means, savings din and dagdag sa pambili ng gamit ng mga babies since twin nga sila.

Thanks and have a good day!
