ano result ng fecalysis ng son mo? bacterial ba caused ng diarrhea? cause if it's bacterial, usually needed ng antibiotics. but if it's viral (i.e. intestinal flu with symptoms like fever and lbm), no need. like you shouldnt be giving antibiotics if you have the common cold since it's viral and not bacterial

Pag di pa rin nagbago after 3days, lipat nanaman ako pedia... hay..

^^according to my daughter's pedia, dark/greenish poop can be a sign of amoebiasis. better have your son's poop tested sis. yung sa baby ko, i thought it was just ordinary diarrhea or irritated tummy pero when i had her stool tested, that's when the doctor was able to confirm na may amoebiasis nga.

Hello.
My 21 month old girl has been having diarrhea too that started last monday, she's very masigla and active, no sign of stomach pains, basta poop lang ng poop ng matubig, pakonti konti at explosive. I texted her pedia, she told me to just have a stool exam, no bacteria/parasite present sa results, so she told me to just replenish with pedialite kada poop, 30ml pedialite eveyrtime she poops.
1st day talagang 15 times nag poop, the next day naging 5 poop, then me days na 3  poop lang, 8 days had passed and now she still poops 4-5x pero pasty na , mala - laing ang consistency, but she's still very active, even eats well, di ko na sya pina-check sa pedia because i have read that viral diarrheas just gets better on its own.
I let her drink pedialite, eats lugaw, and rice w/soup, apples, and loaf bread.
I plan to repeat her stool exam today.
How do i know kung rotavirus ito?

Hi, where can you buy ORS and oresol? are these the same?

My son has been pooping several times a day na. But normal naman sa kanya ang 2-4X a day na poop. But last night nag start yung medio watery. I thought dahil tira lang nung last solid poop nya nung early evening pero today nagtuloy tuloy na.  I gave him erceflora this morning and afternoon, pero ganun pa rin. No fever, very active, same appetite pa rin, ate solids and drank 5 bottles of milk.  His molars and canines on his upper set of teeth are coming out kasi so iniisip namin ng husband ko baka tied to teething kasi medio slimy like saliva yung poop. But it's yellow, parang nung infant sya. Tomorrow, papa BRATTY diet (but not the tea siguro) ko sya and more erceflora. I want to find out where I can buy ORS or oresol and what does it do. Thanks.

For my toddler when she gets diarrhea:

--lactose-free milk (Enfagrow LF na sya kahit on days na walang diarrhea; medyo every other month sya nagkakaroon so I switched her to LF completely)
--hold all vitamins except Zinc
--Erceflora probiotic
--BRAT (if she will eat)
--ORS (but I can't make her drink this talaga)

Napansin ko parang hindi pa kaya ng tummy nya ang ordinary bottled water kaya I boil Wilkins for her water at home (since birth ito) and give Dr Edwards when going out.

For maintenance, she drinks Dutchmill.  Ayaw ng Yakult e.  She used to take Acidophilus (probiotic).

hi mommy DV, i have question about Acidophilus, san po kayo nakakabili nun? capsule po ba siya o milk...?

^We got ours from my daughter's pediatric gastroenterologist. It's in capsule form; bubuksan tapos ihahalo sa milk yung powder. I'm sure there are different brands available in local drugstores; just ask for prescription from your pedia.

Right, it's also available at Healthy Options. It would be good, though, to let your pedia know before giving your child supplements so s/he can advise you of the proper dose and possible side effects.

Safe ba ang Imodium for kids na may diarrhea? Nabasa ko kasi na "Imodium is safe and it is the only approved over-the-counter drug for treating kids with diarrhea." Yung pamangkin ko kasi lagi sumasakit ang tyan at watery yung poop nya so hint namin diarrhea yun. Lactose intolerant kasi siya eh. Please advise po. Thanks!  :)

Safe naman Imodium sis, pero sa toddler talaga ha, like 3 years and above yata. Pero better ask pa rin a doctor pero so far nirerecommend naman ng pharmacist yan.OTC naman kasi. Okay siya sa 6 year old ko eh. Better yet, keep your pamangkin hydrated na lang by giving lots of fluids and juices.  ;)
