To lose the big tummy, we should also learn how to train/exercise smarter, i'm sure there are some people you know that have been going to the gym continuously for a while tapos wala pa rin / minimal improvement lang. (Little technical post below - will try to make it as simple as possible).

I've read up a bit on this issue and also learned much from attending talks by Coach Jim Saret (Pinoy Biggest Loser, Immuvit, Smart Gilas, etc). He talked about the Somatopause phase (middle - age spread) that happens when we get to our late 20s - mid 30s.

basically the body has a harder time losing unwanted fat, store energy, etc and he advises instead of doing hours and hours walking / jogging / other exercise, we should consider hi intensity exertions which would trigger the body to generate the growth hormone, somatotropin.

when the body has enough somatotropin, the body would become "younger" in the sense that metabolism will be high again, you'll have more energy, etc so you could be 35 years old but your body could be functioning like that of a 20 year old.

Hi Mumsbebe! High intensity meaning instead of jogging for 30 minutes, sprint (100% max effort) for kahit 30 secs - 1 minute lang then move onto a different exercise with the same effort pero targeting a different muscle group para kahit pagod kaya pa. It is a bit of a cross between High Intensity Interval Training, and Circuit training.

He has developed a workout system named the metafit program and has done events with immuvit multivitamins for serious runners and cyclists. very impressive and I tried it once and grabe takbo ng puso ko! Super fun! :)

The fastest way to get rid of belly fat is to eat a healthy diet low in saturated fats and do a combination of cardiovascular and strength exercises daily. There are certain foods that help to keep your metabolism high, lower cholesterol and even burn fat. Some foods are excellent for keeping the digestive tract running smoothly to help to cut down on belly bloat. Adding these foods to your healthful diet can help you to flatten your stomach quickly.
Veggie Soup
Vegetable soup is low in calories, is packed with vitamins and minerals and is high in fiber. The fiber in vegetable soup will fill you up with very few calories. The high vitamin and mineral content in vegetable soup helps your body to run more efficiently, which promotes a higher metabolism to burn more fat. Try eating one cup of vegetable soup a day for a filling, vitamin-packed, low-calorie snack or meal.

Fish
Fish is an excellent source of protein, has little or no saturated fat and is packed with Omega-3 fatty acids. Foods such as fish that are high in protein are harder for the body to digest and you burn more calories breaking it down in your body. Omega-3 fatty acids lower your risk for heart disease, decrease risk of arrhythmias, decrease triglyceride levels and help to keep your metabolism healthy. The American Heart Association recommends eating two servings of fatty fish, such as salmon, mackerel, lake trout or albacore tuna every week. Eating two servings of fish a week will help you to build lean muscle mass and keep your metabolism high to help you get a flat belly.
Yogurt
Yogurt is an excellent source of calcium and is high in probiotics. Probiotics help to keep your digestive system healthy, which cuts down on gas and bloating for a flatter tummy. The probiotics in yogurt help to increase absorption of calcium, giving yogurt a higher volume of calcium than milk. Eat one serving of yogurt daily to help keep your bones healthy, digestive system running smoothly and your belly flat.
Olive Oil
Olive oil is a major staple of many diets, and for good reason. Olive oil is high in monounsaturated fatty acids, MUFAs, which can help to decrease fat in the abdominal area. The March 2007 Journal of Diabetes Care describes how eating a MUFA with every meal can prevent and decrease belly fat. To avoid excessive calories from this healthy fat, add it in small quantities to every meal. One tbsp of olive oil will help to keep your heart healthy and decrease your percentage of belly fat.

try Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack, exercise for mid section of the body, pina download ko lang kay hubby.  Lahat ng exercise ni Jillian aayawan mo talaga sa hirap, pero effective naman, kita ko na yung result sa body ko. ;D and I'm very satisfied.
