Hi philophobic,

I sympathize with you in your problem. Nowadays actually its quite common to see among us women to have extra fat around our stomach. And true enough also that only when they got noticeably bigger in size that we start thinking how to get rid of belly fat...and needless to say what caused them.. we are all aware of our own food intake, lifestyle, and our physical activities or exercises (if do have).

Regarding the activities (threadmill, crunches, biking) that you mentioned, yes at some point they works, but if not done properly particularly in proper position / posture, and body preparedness, they are more prone to causing lower back injury. You mentioned that even your ankle is hurting when you walk, so maybe running in threadmill is not your best option to better your condition for the moment as it stresses more your joints. It is important that you do joint mobility exercises before performing physical activities. This prepares your body particularly your joints and lets the 'synovial fluid' run through in between cartilages of the joints -- this fluid reduces the friction in that area during movements. If there's insufficient synovial fluid within the joints, this may cause negative pressure and produces pain to certain body parts. Having a big tummy, smaller legs , aching ankle all has it remedy, and it can just be through working out, using proper tools & exercises to better them. Big tummy needs exercises that makes you burn fast while developing strong core & lower back, and improves your metabolism; Smaller legs are meant to be developed to be stronger; Ankle pains like I said can be cured with proper joint mobility exercises :)

I would suggest exercises that promotes movements that are natural to the human body and machine exercises are not the best examples for it. Our body are just not naturally meant for them. There are fitness tools like kettlebells, stability balls, and power bands that promotes natural & total body exercises, and the benefits you'll get from them is not just to enhance your physical appearance but more  in the area of functional strength, flexibility, mental toughness, and improved metabolism. Take time to read about how those above fitness tools on how they can improve ones fitness & health :) there's an ongoing thread for kettlebells here, pls feel free to post your concerns there.

Sorry, got carried away by my thoughts here..  ;) i hope this helps! :D Thanks!

^^ true. i notice that my stomach used to get bloated when i ate a lot of refined carbohydrates, and when i used to drink beer! :)

as for exercise, crunches won't really help much. kettlebells could, because they ramp up your metabolism, but a huge factor really comes from good eating habits.

another thing... pasta, corn and bread are also no better than rice...

some women avoid rice but eat a lot of the foods I mention and wonder why they can't drop those pounds and inches

True. Lalo na yung pasta. Before I did the No-rice diet replacing rice with whole wheat bread. Pero I eat a slice lang every meal. Leg raises can tone done your lower abdomen.

Ako naman sometimes pag feel ko mag-wear ng girdle, I wear it (going to school, staying in the house). Saw that my aunt wears one regularly for years since she gave birth to her 3 kids, hindi naka-bulge yung tummy nia.

yes no rice works and helped me loose weight, I ate pasta, bread or corn kasi body needs carbo pa rin naman, pero all in moderation.

The only thing with no rice diet is it limits the food intake kasi let's all face it, masarap kumain ng with rice, compared to no rice, so tendency kaunti lang talaga makakain ko.

My new year resolution, same with all the women siguro, is to lose weight. Malakas din ako sa kanin pero 3 days na akong nagbabawas with the help of a coffee, Leisure 18 because it suppresses the appetite. 18 pcs lang yung isang box, plano ko ubusin lang yun then stop na. By that time, nacondition na ang tummy ko to eat less. Sana lang mapanindigan ko ito.  :D

Goodluck to all of us!!
