@onefineapril

You know...there is no proven cause for the increase of one's eye grade. As far as we can determine, it's genetically programmed in you. There are people who read a lot but don't need glasses... there are those who raely read but need glasses.

^thanks, sis Doc Richie! :)

yun nga din ang pinagtataka ko e...out of my 8 cousins... 1 lang ang gumagamit g eyeglasses... 500++ ang grades... ang parents ko though they are wearing eyeglasses now, but they started in their late 50's na at reading glasses pa...  ::)

may mga officemates ako na almost same ng lifestyle ko pero they have perfect vision.... haaayy... I just hope and pray pag-uwi ko sa April, mabigyan pa ko ng pag-asa ng doctor na pwede pang bumaba ang grades ko...  8)

@sweetescape

See your doctor again muna. I wouldn't bet on it though...

Finally, I had my eye checkup 2 weeks ago!

Sa Healthway ako nagpatingin... opthalmologist.  Sabi nya may infection daw ang mata ko kaya napapadalas ang cloudy vision ko even with my eyeglasses on.  He prescribed 2 eyedrops, Zymar and Optive.  3x a day with 30-min interval.  After a week, pinabalik nya ko. Sabi nya, i-stop ko na daw ang Zymar then i-continue ang Optive, then balik daw ako uli after a week.  Kaya lang sabi ko, babalik na ko dito sa SG kaya he already gave me the eye grades.  R: 1.75 L: 2.50... I was so thankful and grateful dahil bumaba sya from my previous grades.

just want to share lang :)

Doc Ritchie, what are the symptoms of uvitis? I'm worried I'm afflicted with this eh, I'll be going to the optha this week or next, but I just want to know. What's the most tell-tale sign? Thanks Doc!

hi Dr. Richie i just wanna ask lang po what is the reason kung bakit nag dudugo yung sclera ng mama ko? sa umpisa namumula ng light pero habang tumatagal lalong nagiging pulang pula and medyo masakit daw po kapag kumukurap. is it possible po ba na mataas ang bp nya? or mataas din po ang iop? hindi lang po nangyari sakanya yun once. pero since she started to used eye glasses hindi na po ulit nag dugo sclera nya.

Hi,
Always use only clear running water to wash your eyes.
Include foods rich in vitamins in your diet as they help to maintain healthy and brighter eyes
People who spend most of their time in front of the computer or TV can place cotton dipped in cold water or milled on the eyes just for 10 minutes.
Use creams containing vitamin K and retinol as they help to protect the eyes.
If you suffer with itchy eyes, then massage the scalp with curd. It helps to get rid of itchiness and discomfort.
Hope these tips helps you.

doc, I'm planning to by contact lens na to alternate sa eyeglasses ko. Hirap kasi to wear eyeglasses lalo na if lakad ako ng lakad (when i do field work minsan or even just malling). Uncomfortable kasi for me, siguro dahil din few months ko palang ginagamit and di ko naman lagi suot. Ano bang brand yung okay and usually ano price range nun?

^hi sis! Pwede rin ako magrecommend sayo? :D kung clear lang, O2 Optix or Air Optix. Same company lang sila. Parehas ko na sila natry at mas like ko Air Optix though mas mahal.. Good for dry/sensitive eyes.. I'm not sure yung exact price pero mga 2k-3k yata yung Air Optix, 3 pairs na.. :)  after use , nirurub/clean ko lang sya nung solution then babad lang din dun sa case with solution.. hth!

same lang grade ng eyes ko from years before until now.  akala ko kapag laging suot ang eye glasses, bababa ang grado.

Kinabahan naman ako when I saw this thread. :(

I used to wear cosmetic contact lenses in high school, yung Geo circle lenses. Tapos in college nalaman ko I have astigmatism. I wonder kung may kinalaman yung astigmatism sa pagsuot ng maling lenses when I was younger, pero I think isa din yun sa mga reasons kung bakit malabo na mata ko ngayon. So nadala nako ngayon, no more lenses for me na.

@green-aholic
Not really. it's generally the length of the eyeball and the steepness of the cornea that produces the grade.

@kyuza
your astigmatism has nothing to do with whatever you wore before

@Dacian
That is a myth.

@u8mypinkcookies
agree with FOURever. silicone hydrogel lenses are the best available soft contact lenses in the country. Naturally, sila rin ang pinaka mahal. Rigid Gas Permeable Contact lenses are still better tho.

@jannamarie
the sclera doesn't really "bleed". perhaps it's another layer of the eye you are talking about?

@musthavs
it may or may not.

@prettykitkat
too many to mention. sympotms of uveitis ( like redness ) is common in other eye diseases.

@kawinboink
matagal... weeks to months.
