sis tulips28: pa-share please ng IT. im going to Bali on april 6-11. wala talaga sa plano na magpunta ng indonesia but i got invited ng aussie gay friend ko sa 40th birthday celeb nya sa Bali. i asked why there? he loves Bali daw. naku i told him, di ka pa kase nakakapunta ng boracay. hehe!

isip ko tuloy kung pupunta ako ng Bali.  Parang sa Phuket din, mas maganda pa rin beach sa Pinas.  Ang maganda sa Phuket yong mga secluded islands nila. 

Siguro pag Indonesia, sa Yogyagarta na lang ako punta.  Pero active pa ata si volcano nila don, hehe.

Gusto bumalik ni bf sa bali, haven't been there pero gusto nya within this year punta kami dun. Anyways, he loves Philippine beaches and sabi nya the best talaga but for the value of money, he prefers Bali and Bangkok kasi waaayyyy cheaper daw than the hotels and resorts here and magaganda daw talaga mga hotels.

i lived in jakarta for 3 years.. one of the best experiences. ako nagustuhan ko. siguro tip na lang would be, try to "embrace" their culture and understand the local ways of working. will also be good if matuto ka ng bahasa indonesia. i would always always want to go back. kung pwede lang.. haha! nothing special about the place, pero once magustuhan mo baka ayaw mo nang bumalik ng pinas just like me and my friends. 2 years na ko sa pinas pero gusto ko pa rin bumalik. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that my company will send me there in the near future.

^^ noted!    will stay in kemang if everything will turn out to be ok. nakapunta ka na ng kemang? any feedback about this place?

kemang is the "expat hub" in jakarta. it is located in the south medyo matraffic to CBD especially pag rush hour. if mag isa ka lang, i would recommend you choose a housing nearest to your office kasi sayang travel time at gas. if you have kids, you may consider living in kemang or pondok indah nga kasi that's closer to the international schools.

sa kemang kasi it's like a long street na marami kang mabibiling furnitures, maraming spas and salons, buhay ang nightlife, maraming restos. nice place rin pero traffic nga lang.

^^ oh. is the place relatively safe? mura din ba bilihin? paranoid lang ako.hehe.

yup i actually feel safer there especially in taking taxis kasi blue bird and express are very reliable compared dito na wala naman maasahan.. yellow taxi ang mahal mahal.. food is relatively a little more expensive. toiletries and non-food consumer goods are cheaper lalo na mga laundry soap, softener and better quality pa. damit halos pareho lang dito pero favorite ko mamili sa mga factory outlets lalo na the one in mall ambasador. zara is cheaper daw.

workwise, expect pinoys to be smarter and di magaling sa english. pero hands down sa locals, once mapakisamahan mo sila very matulungin and warm naman sila.

what's also good is, household help is affordable. helper's salary averages mga 2000-4000php. driver mga 7-10k. halos same lang sa pinas.

I'll be in Jakarta tomorrow. Overnight lang. Mall hopping lang siguro. I was thinking of heading to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah pero parang di naman MUST DO 'to. Pag sinipag ako bukas, bibisitahin ko yon.

Just got back from Bali.. ala pa atang thread kc ng bali [textspeak!].. If anyone of you wanted itinerary and infos for bali tour, just send me an email or pmessage Im very much willing to share mine.. Bali trip was a blast!! Bali offers sooo many activities that you would definitely enjoy basta, it's a recommendable destination for adventurous travellers

^ Feeling ko nga rin di naman super must-see yung Taman Mini. We stayed at Grand Indonesia all day na lang.

I enjoyed Jakarta despite the terrible traffic. We stayed at Studio One located on Jalan Talang Bentutu, which is a residential area. Very near Grand Indonesia. Nilalakad lang namin. Value for money at only Php 1,350 per night. It's very basic but clean. Rate includes a simple breakfast of fried rice, eggs, and coffee/tea.

^ Maraming reasonable accommodation options talaga sa Jakarta. Sanayan lang sa traffic. Pag uwi mo sa Manila pasensyoso ka na sa traffic. Haha! Di na nga ko umaangal sa Manila traffic ngayon eh.
