Actually, ngayon nga, medyo mahirap daw maghanap ng work compared nung time na dumating kami. Hindi ako sure sa HR kung mraming openings ngayon eh sensya na... so [textspeak!] k rin masagot yung tanong me salary range

IT ako..ok naman pay sa IT tsaka medyo in-demand..pero i've heard nga lang na strict sila ngayon even with Employment pass kasi mag election dito and marami na atang singaporean nagrereklamo dahil dami ng foreigners

Yun ding po kasi sinabi ng mga nainterview kong aplikante na bumalik dito sa Phil. So I'm thinking na dumaan na lang sa agency. At least may job offer talaga.

okay lang to go there as tourist first but of course be willing to take the risks. and dapat hindi rin mapili sa work specially if you really want to find a job there.

hi mga sis ask ko lang may nakita kasi akong murang ticket dito going to singapore hindi ko lang sure kung gano katagal pero kasi im planning to find a job there in singapore. wala pa akong makuhang work sa net so i was thinking kung pumunta na lang kaya ako as tourist then find job... ano kaya sa palagay nyo ang magandang idea?

yung bestfriend ko nag tourist visa lang sya.. she arrived last March 18.. she's extending her stay for another month.. so far she got a job already but she's just waiting for her work permit to be approved.. she's into IT.. pero baba lang salary.. ok na din yun sabi ko sa kanya kasi stepping stone lang.. she can continue to apply to other high paying jobs basta meron na syang existing work permit..

ok lang din yung gawing stepping stone munan pero if possible, try to get na good salary from the start. based on our exp kasi, ganyan din kami nung una then we realized now na pag nagincrease pala dito, hindi mo mapansin! kakarampot promise! pag bus lang na dagdag hehe..tapos ngayon medyo mahirap naman lumipat lalo kung WP, you need to find a new one first bago ka makaresign...

so usually i suggest, lalo kung IT, (IT kami eh), get a good base sa salary kasi hindi na lalayo dyan ang salary mo. pwera kung lumipat ka talga ng ibang company pero kung same...parang walang increase each year...

sabagay tama ka din sis.. although ako ganon naging move ko.. i started with a very low salary.. stayed with them for 6 months.. then jumped to another company where I got an $800 increase in my pay.. then stayed with them for 8 months.. then to another company for a pay higher than $300.. then resigned after 1yr and 8 months.. then got another job with a pay increment of double than the salary i was getting.. then resign ulit at bumalik ako sa isa sa mga companies na pinasukan ko before.. lol.. job hopper talaga ako.. lol.. pera pera lang din kasi.. i just thought before na need ko lang talaga makatapak sa singapore and I had to pursue, study, and be firm para makuha ko yung salary na gusto ko (na hindi ko pa nakukuha.. hahaha) joke lang.. ok na ako sa work and pay and colleagues ko ngayon happy naman ako sa increment ko this year marami raming chicken rice din naman.. lol

whatever works best and whatever  your instinct says then go for it.. basta wala kang hesitations and no regrets on whatever decision you choose, you'll never go wrong..

wow sis buti ka pa! good for you!:D nainggit tuloy ako sa salary increase... makaresign na kaya bukas...haha...hindi kasi talaga ako mahilig ng palipat lipat..siguro dahil ayokong umaalis sa comfort zone ko haha... kaya eto, pang nasi lemak lang ang increase ko, fish at mani lang yun, bawal ang me chicken mahal hehe

hindi.. honestly dito sa singapore yan lang ang style ng karamihan para magkaron ng pay increment.. me and my husband and a whole bunch of friends are into the IT industry.. and I say 90% of us job hop until we get the most convenient salary for our lifestyle... some naman second job pa lang naswertehan na.. but then again, they still job hop..

ako kasi like snitch hindi.  nakaka disappoint nga ang salary increases dito  kaya na-e-engganyo tuloy mga tao lumipat ng lumipat.  naalala ko tuloy first wk  ko sa job tapos may tumawag agad na headhunter sa desk ko (sa office ha), looking for me.  Sabi ko hindi ako interested at kakarating ko lang sa bago kong company.  May hinala ako baka pakana ng HR or boss ko yun just to know my real motives. kasi they facilitated my move here and gave me a relocation allowance. natural lang din for them to 'test' nga naman kung gagamitin ko lang sila para makarating or tatagal ako.

i'm quite bothered by what a helper has asked of me earlier when i was at plaza singapura... she was asking where to go for help here in SG and she wants to go home na lang. sabi niya wala daw siyang work permit id, nasa agency daw ang passport niya, no cellphone and di daw siya nakakakain ng maayos (dunno if it's the food or di pinapakain ng maayos). she doesn't even know the name of her employer or kung saan ang exact address niya except sa sinabi na bedok clearwater 3-07, name (mary grace gamit) and agency niya (best helper katong). i researched on the name of the agency at mukhang maraming employers ang nagrereklamo sa services nila.

mga sis, baka may kakilala kayo or may alam kayo kung saan pwedeng isumbong yung kalagayan ng helper na to.

di na ako nakapagtanong ng maayos kasi dumating na yung employer niya.

^ sis, you can report it to the philippine embassy, MOM, or to an NGO that helps distressed OFWs. ang NGO lang na alam ko is yung naka-based sa Redemptorist Church sa Novena.

sis pink, pero bakit sya nasa plaza singapura? ano ginagawa nya dun? here's what i know pag bagong datinbg pa lang ang worker dito.

- kelan ba sya dumating ng sg? the passport is with the agency kung pina-process pa lang ang work permit. baka naman pina-process pa lang?
- sa cellphone use, amo ang nagde-decide kung papayagan nyang humawak ng cellphone ang kanyang helper. usually pag bago pa lang, hindi nire-recommend ng agency yan kasi distraction sa trabaho lalo kung bagong dating. pero syempre, kung payag ang amo, no issue.
- sa food, yan ang kailangang i-klaro. hindi ba sya 3 times a day pinapakain? if yes, issue yan. o baka naman sya ang hindi type ang food? take note, may mga helpers na hindi mahilig sa gulay (may maid na ganun kahit pa galing silang province). baka naman ganun?
- pwedeng mag-report mismo ang helper sa agency nya kasi yun ang unang dapat mag-protect sa kanya. kung hindi sya tutulungan, then she can report to those you have mentioned.

pero minsan kasi baka hindi lang sila clear sa rules ng amo nila at sa mga paper works na kailangan para i-process yung work permit nila. it takes time din kasi para makuha ang permit. although talagang nangyayari yan na may mga employers na hindi nila tinatrato ng maayos ang helper nila. if that's the case, sana nga matulungan sila.

i totally agree on what you said at maslalo na dito sa sg na walang gratuity and kebs lang kung gaano katagal ka na nagwowork. si hubby nga ganyan din lipat ng lipat hanggang maging ok sa $.

but for 1st timers i suggest grab the opportunity basta legal and ok naman coz mahirap pa rin maghanap ng work. madali ng kaunti pagIT field coz in demand sya. other work eh kaunti lang and if you notice lahat ng job portals sinasabi PR or locals only coz not all companies can sponsor a foreigner, quota na sila sa foreigners and mahigpit ngayon ang MOM since last year pa so sinabihan na nila yung mga agencies na preferably kumuha sila ng PRs and locals coz marami pa rin walang trabaho o mapili lang sila

pagnag-apply kayo tru agency eh sure yan malaki ang babayaran coz your paying 2 agencies. one in PH and yung isa sa SG and to top it all may mga processing fees pa then pagdating sa SG kaltas parati ang sweldo for 3 to 6 months but the good thing about it is sure job yan pagdating dito.

pagnagtourist ka naman dito sa sg malaking possibility na hindi ka makakakuha ng job coz ang laki ng competition dito daming pinoy dito ha na nagwawalk in lang at ibang lahi din then some 3 months++ di nakahanap ng job so laki rin pera mawawala....parang nag-agency ka na rin however the good thing about it is kung hindi pa mapili sa job then todo apply ka lang then you will land a job basta ma-approve lang ng MOM...dami parin kase sponsored by the company then denied naman ng MOM. there are still a few people na less 2 months nakakahanap na ng work.

tyaga tyaga lang yan....basta bring lots of money, kapala ng muka and prayers

kawawa naman yang OFW at kung totoo nga sinasabi nya eh ireport nya sa embassy....im thinking nga kaya minsan nakakapatay, nagnanakaw ang mga yan coz kulang sa kain eh syempre kung hindi proper food ang ibigay then blur blur yan....homesick na nga, overwork and gutom pa....

thanks sa feedback mga sis. i'm bothered din kasi sa sinabi niya. nasa plaza singapura siya kahapon kasama yung amo niya. sandali ko lang siyang nakausap kasi dumating yung amo eh... di ko rin naitanong kung gaano na siya katagal dito. may nabasa kasi akong ibang feedback dun sa agency na sinabi niya... na kesyo yung iba daw time na ng maid na magbakasyon di pa daw napoprocess yung papers so baka din di pinoprocess ng maayos ng agency yung papers ng mga helpers nila.
