DUbai or Bahrain.. gusto ko lang icompare yung cost of living... education, etc...

ah ok. may  kilala lang kasi ako kaya may not be as accurate. 
- education wise, mas mura dito. 
- housing wise, mas mura din dito
- food, mas Asian dito
- sweldo sa Dubai kasi normally may kasamang ang roundtrip ticket (at least for professionals) and housing.  Sa Sg hindi sya norm.
- mas safe sa SG
- mas mura din in terms of clothing dito sa SG kasi summer all yr round, hindi malamig na kelangan ng winter clothes.

thanks sis for the reply... actually nandito kame sa bahrain ngayon.. balak namin bumalik ulit dyan (galing na kame dyan before nung wala pa kameng dalawang anak)

Ngayon, back to zero kame dyan kasi 4 na kame ngayon, maybe next year ipapasok na namin yung eldest namin sa school. Agree ako sayo sis sa education, di hamak na mas maganda dyan at mura.. Kaso sis, pagdating kaya sa savings? parehas din kaya ang maiipon kung same lifestyle din naman?

Hello mga mommies in singapore!  Question please,  meron bang earth's best jarred food na nabibili dyan?  We will be there soon kasi for a visit with my 7 month old.  Ang bulky kasi magdala ng maraming jarred food from here, so naisip ko mukha namang ok ang earths best, just wondering kung me mabibili ako dyan para we dont have to bring so much.

hello ladies,

i need help badly. i'll be going to singapore this june to either look for work or study.
what schools yung affordable? who can offer courses in fashion, marketing, or business.
initially the plan was to take a fashion course in manila and apply entry level jobs there.
but now i'm thinking what if i can study there nalang. would you know the range of fees for a 1 year course, a 6 month course, or certificate courses.

Hi sis berrycherry I lived in Dubai for a few years.
Here's my observations of moving to SG from the Middle East.

Pros
- Accommodation here although comparable to the UK mas reasonable dito kesa sa UAE kasi regulated
- Weather is constant. 32-35 degrees all year round
- Mas malapit sa Pinas and thanks to Budget Airlines madali makauwi kahit long weekend lang
- Sweldo here is a bit more compared to UAE 
- Traffic is not as bad as UAE
- Pwedeng maging Permanent Resident at eventually Citizen dito samantalang sa UAE wala kahit mag work ka ng isang siglo
- Mas madali mag travel dito to neighbouring countries at affordable samantalang sa UAE pag weekend or long weekend around the Emirates lang mapapasyalan mo or Hatta, Oman. Not unless isa ka sa maswerte at mayayamang expats who can afford to fly to Europe for a long weekend =)
- If you are currently in Bahrain mas madali ka makaka-adjust dito dahil in terms of size halos pareho lang at mas madami pwede gawin dito lalo na for the kids. Just ask the SG GT mommies! =)

Cons
- Standard Annual Leave e 14 days lang (including weekends = 20 days) samantalang sa UAE 30 days + free 2-way ticket pa a year or every 2 years
- May gratuity at the end of service sa UAE dito wala
- May income tax sa SG samantalang tax free sa UAE


If you have specific questions sis PM mo lang ako. I will try and help. Pero more or less I think you know what to expect here na since you've lived here before. I moved here 9 months ago with ZERO knowledge of SG. My partner and I got by thanks to Girltalk and GT SG sisters! =)
