SINGAPORE THREAD PART 5 NA ITO!!!!

Me and my boyfriend will try our luck in Singapore this February.  Visit lang tapos try namin mag-apply sa mga companies. Sang place po ba magandang magstay para malapit sa city na maraming companies na madali naming puntahan?

Saka may chance po ba kami? Dami kasi namin friends na ganun lang ang ginawa pero ngayon stable na sila sa SG.

yes kayang maga-apply ng work dito kahit nakatourist coz yun ang ginawa namin and like your friends stable na rin kame dito.

this year mahirap ma-approve ang mga work pass coz inuuna nila yung mga citizen and PRs...hopefully next year it will pick up.

maraming offices sa raffles place and cityhall. pero it really depends on what field ka. better to rent a place near the mrt para accesible sa pagtravel. just google the mrt map in sg and you'll know kung san banda itong mga places.

sale period sa sg is last week of may to july which is the GSS (great singapore sale) pero dont worry parating sale dito gadgets and perfumes are cheaper here compared sa pinas all year round

weather now in sg is wet wet wet coz rainy season na pero parehas lang naman talaga ang weather dito and sa pinas. masmainit pa nga dito pero maraming puno...di katulad sa pinas and init....ang usok at di ka pa nakakapunta sa kinaroroonan mo eh super pagod and dumi ka hehe

btw may inlaws are coming over next week so nagpabili na ako ng mga food supplies namin like hotdogs, tocino, polvoron etc

and makikita na nila kung gaano kaganda ang orchard pag gabe coz may christmas decor na and by next weekend pupunta kameng KL and Genting......goodluck sa aming pagcasino and sa lamig....love roadtrips.

^ ang sabi nila best to apply for work here after the chinese new year. kasi daw yung mga locals after nun nagre-resign.  pero i think kung para sa yo talaga, kahit kelan pede. i have a friend who went here 3wks ago for vacation lang. before she left namudmod na ng applications/resume online. fortunately eh pinalad at may nag-offer sa kanya. start na sya jan4.  ang siste pa dyan, wala talaga sya masyadong balak. nagbakasakali lang. hubby nya talaga ang may  balak mag-apply. sya pa yung pinalad. kanya-kanyang swerte lang din.  so goodluck po! 

i am not sure of the weather in the city. we live in pasir ris and ang lamig na dito!! kagabi hindi na kami nag-fan. ilang linggo na din kaming naka-off na ang aircon. ang sarap ng weather! sana ganito araw-araw.
paminsan-minsan umuulan dito. pero freak weather dito eh. minsan sa city umuulan. dito sa east hindi. iba-iba weather sa iba-ibang lugar. ang weird kasi ang liit-liit lang naman ng singapore!

kapag natanggap at matagal bago makauwi, idagdag mo narin ang ibang docs para complete ka:

1.  NSO birth cert, at marriage cert (if applicable).
2.  ID picture
3.  certificates - kung may license ka, or kahit certificate of employment or something to show proof ano ginawa/experience mo in the past years

ironically, tingin ko naman na baka now is the best time for foreigners. kasi hindi pa nagr-resign mga locals, wala kang kaagaw. yung mga companies na talagang naghahanap ng candidates eh walang makuhang locals, kaya mas ok ang chances mo.  tapos mga trabaho naman dumadami na kasi na nagr-recover na from the recession.  well, theory ko lang naman yun kasi I was hired at the last quarter of the year. 

pag nagresign kasi mga locals, may lilipatan parin sila. so kung may vacancies, inuuna nila ang mga locals na palipat. one of the last choices ka

Hello mga sisses! Ask ko lang po working environment sa Singapore.  Mahigpit po ba mga employers diyan at tsaka long hours po ba?  My hubby and I are currently working in the UK and the economy does not seem to have a bright future.  Asia is where it's supposed to be so we're thinking if the Singapore option is good.

Singapore nga lang mas civilized kahit papano at mas malinis kesa China. tsaka English ang gamit.

hindi ko in-e-expect na tamad at mareklamo/arte sobra ang mga locals.  feeling ko they always feel they should be the privileged ones.  Mayabang kasi feeling magaling sila palagi.  Pero eto naman in general lang naman, at sa limited stay ko dito.  hindi naman lahat.  Tsaka one company palang kasi na-work-an ko, baka sa ibang companies hindi ganun.

may isang time dapat maghire ako ng tao.  sa pinas kasi normally hindi ko na in-e-entertain for interviews kapag lipat ng lipat ng work, so I scrap their resumes na.  Pero dito, hindi ko puede gawin yun. kasi lahat, if not halos lahat talaga 1-2 yrs lang, lipat agad work. kung may ayaw sila, resign. ok lang. tapos hanap ulit work.

long hours?  sa trabaho ko oo. depende siguro sa type ng work mo.

Hmmm... I see sis!  Thanks a lot.  I have heard nga na long working hours diyan.  I was thinking about work-life balance.  Pero I like Singapore amongst all Asian countries kasi nga malinis.

^ yup, yung garbage can na makikita mo normally sa bus stops ay walang amoy.

pero warning you lang, maraming mabaho dito.  yan ang #1 complaint ko talaga.  di ko lang maintindihan bakit NR ibang tao kapag may nakakatbai silang may amoy. parang sanay na sila at hindi sila nasusuka.
