Young Adult Recommendations...

I've been a fan of YA books for a long time. Started with Sweet Valley series to Sweet Dreams. Even read a couple of Read Your Own Adventures books.

My current recommendations would be the following:
- Harry Potter series
- Making Out series by Katherine Applegate
- Vampire Academy series
- House of Night series
- Gossip Girl series
- Twilight series

I have several series that was still on my list:
Private by Kate Brian
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Anne Brashares
Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot

Andami kong nakikitang YA series sa library, hindi ko alam kung magaganda naman sila. Tas I stumbled upon this website, nakakatuwa kasi alphabetically arranged yung series. http://www.bettendorflibrary.com/bpl-bin/series.pl hindi ko lang sure kung ano yung magaganda.

puro vampires pa lang ang nababasa ko na YA, except for privileged by zoey mead. the tv show privileged was based on this stand-alone book. ok naman.

she's also the author of the a-list, which is like gossip girl daw pero california version naman. i have book 1 but i haven't read it yet. she also wrote hollywood is like high school with money. meron din ako pero hindi ko pa nababasa. 

i also have the 1st 3 books in the luxe series by anna godbersen. parang gossip girl din daw pero nung 1890s. again, di ko pa nababasa. 

these ones i've read na and i liked them:
- sweep series by cate tiernan
- wicked lovely and ink exchange by melissa marr (3rd book fragile eternity also out but still in hard back)
- blue bloods by melissa dela cruz

morganville vampires by rachel caine is YA also diba? and her weather warden series din. daming good reviews non.

yung iba ni lj smith not sure if they're any good - night world, dark visions, secret circle. most of us didn't like the vampire diaries, not sure how the others compare.

and how about the it girl also by cecily von ziegesar? ok din ba?

Forest of Hands and Teeth - super, super, super good! post-apocalyptic YA about zombies. sort of the village meets resident evil na may romantic twist.

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side - super, super nice vamp YA.

Two-Way Street - forgot the author, basta YA contemporary romance. Very, very cute and sweet but still realistic.

Bad Girls Don't Die - YA ghost / romance. by Katie Alender.

L.J. Smith's Night World series

and...I'll stop na kasi my list is endless. hehe

Give Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants a try. It is better than the movie and take note that I loved the movie too.

I recommend the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins and Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series by Rick Riordan.

I think LOTR and Chronicles of Narnia would be a good read for young adults. My schoolmates in here have read all those books when they were growing up. I wish I read them too but I think it's very different growing up in Asia. Still, when you go abroad it's so nice to be able to talk about these books.

Borrowed the Percy Jackson series from the library, let's see if it can match up to the HP series! will let you guys know how i find it.

i highly recommend the percy jackson series (books 1 to 5).  also, just recently discovered the hunger games and catching fire by suzanne collins.  they were excellent reads!  super exciting....couldn't put them down!  happy reading!

Just finished Percy Jackson and the Olympian: The Lightning Thief, it was really really good! I do hope the movie will be as good as the book. I'm on the 2nd book, The Sea Monsters.

am a newbie here..and been following this thread for I am also a book fanatic. I love YA books, and currently reading City of Bones from Cassandra Clarke, and bought the rest of the series. good book and easy to read.

I'm raving about the Percy Jackson series! I can't put the books down! I get to sleep at 3am just to finish the books. I'm starting the 3rd book, The Titan's Curse tonight.

If she is game to read not-so-thin books, Chronicles of Narnia would be a good choice. Pero kung gusto nya ng mas maikli and mas modern ang dating, there are books I saw on Natio about pre-teen siblings (girls pareho) na born as witches. I read the back cover blurb and it seems fun. Sort of like disney's waverley series. I forgot the title though. When I see it again, I'll update my post.
