sis chastee, nakaka touch ang story mo.Nakakaiyak. Someday, magkakasama din kayo,in God's will and time.Just pray and God will do the rest. Be strong and have faith.

sis, thank you sa pag share, naiyak ako ng sobra kahit andito ako sa office nag back read hindi ko pa rin mapigil ang iyak ko. One thing that I realized is that, kahit ngayon na mismo, gusto ko ng magpakasal, kasi next year na ang plans namin, nanghihinayang na ako doon sa waiting period eh.

grabe naiyak naman ako sa mga nabasa dito. buti na lang magisa lang ako dito sa office, walang nakakakita sa akin. thanks sises for sharing your stories. actually masama loob ko sa asawa ko ngayon at ayoko sya itext pero pagkatapos ko basahin yung stories dito, bigla akong napatawag sa kanya para kumustahin sya. oo nga naman life is too short para lagi kayo mag away. at syempre, sayang yung oras na imbes masaya kayo eh nag aaway kayo. thanks sisters.

wow,it's almost 3yrs since my hubby died kaya i was  bit surprised to learn this thread is still alive. I still haven't "moved" on as what everybody around me expects. There are times when I visit his grave and cry like as if he just died yesterday. They say that time heals all wounds, but I guess in this case, it does not heal the wound, it only worsens the pain because with time, you are reminded that its been so and so months or years since you last heard his voice or saw his face or even made love to him. 3 years and Im still talking to him like he's just here beside me.
3 years...his watch, cellphone, wedding ring and wallet is still on my dresser, his clothes still hang in my closet and his shoes/slippers are still outside my door even if my daughter and I have moved to this house which holds no memory of him... Nakakabaliw pa rin, I do have regrets every now and then, pero iniiisip ko na lang na kung [textspeak!] din yung mga 'down' moments with him, our marriage wouldn't have gotten better along those years.
The one other thing that makes me feel better is knowing he died ready. He made peace with the Lord. And he died saying " I love you" to me(technically, he died 14 days after his aneurysm ruptured, after they stopped pumping adrenalin to his heart because he has been brain dead for 2 weeks already, but I realize after years of reading and research, he died moments after his aneurysm ruptured and cut off the oxygen supply in his brain).... siguro nga yung huling hininga nya, ginamit niya pagsabi ng mga words na yun, and he breathed for the last time (without aid of respirator) when I was giving him CPR.

sorry for the loss mga sis na widowed.  I want to ask a question sa mga lahat ng sis na na widowed na.  Did you guys tried to move on right away after your hubby died? or did you wait for a long time before moving on?  Moving on, as in went back to work and tried to live your life to help support your kids. Ask ko lang kasi I have a dilemma with my own sister, our family thinks that she's making her loss an excuse not to find work kasi nga namatay hubby nya sa ondoy tragedy. And she keeps on saying na di daw namin sya naiintindihan dahil iba nga yung pagkamatay ng asawa nya. It's been more than 2yrs since her hubby died and hindi sya nag effort na mag keep ng job or worse maghanap ng work.

I send money naman sa mom namin every month for her meds maintenance( l live in CA na kasi). All she wants is to be always in tulad ng mga amiga nya. In other words gusto nya mag buhay mayaman, na wala naman syang pera. ( me kaya kasi yung hubby nya before).

Buti pa nga sya nakapag fitness first at lagi naka spa, kahit wala syang pera. ( I married a white guy too, pero I met him when I got here sa CA na.

Sorry mga sis if I have to post it here. di  pa kasi ako pwede mag post ng new topic. I need advice sa  inyo. Thanks in advance!

@sis coj1977- its sad when hirap na maka cope or in denial kasi nakakalimutan nila me bata umaasa sa kanila to have a good future..

mine naman i have a cousin who got widowed at age 32.. sadly, she was left with 3 kids..she got married right after college.. sabi nya kasi dream nya maging housewife lang.. sayang ang college degree...the husband worked abroad and developed kidney problem..

and a few years after being widowed she got lonely.. ayun got pregnant with a 4th child na hindi naman kaya i support ng tatay.. kasi wala din.. my aunt and uncle both got retired and supports not just her but another sibling na nahiwaly sa asawa and has kids din..

nasa early 20's na mga nephews ko and sadly she never liked to have a 8-5 type of job..and hindi na nakapag college yung mga bata..ang nagpaaral sa bunso nila who is 5 yrs old now is yung nakatatandang 2 kapatid (call ctrs) including pang araw araw nila..my cousin is just content working part time..

naawa ako sa mga pamangkin ko nag suffer...my cousin didnt really try to stand up.. me naiwan na bahay pero nasa compound ng inlaws.. and medyo nagka issue kaya pina rent na lang.. so they are all stying in my aunts house...

i dont know what life my nephews and niece will have kapag sila nagkaroon ng sariling pamilya..

may kanya kanya kasing period ng grieving time eh. hindi naman pwedeng sabihin na, oh 1yr na, mag move on ka na...or wala pang 5 years, hindi ka pa pwedeng magkaroon ng new life...

ako 3 yrs, hindi pa rin tapos sa pag grieve ko. may moments pa rin na i prefer na magkulong sa kwarto and not talk to anybody and just lose myself sa internet than to go out, work, and socialize. when you lose a husband kasi, lalo na at unexpected, tulad nung sa sis mo sa tragedy namatay, literally, its like half of you died. totoo yang nawawalan ka ng direction sa buhay. for 12months since nung namatay asawa ko, i didnt work, umuwi lang kami ng anak ko dito sa Pilipinas. Stay at home mom din kasi ako since nung nabuntis ako with my 1 and only child. Sa 1 yr na yun , ang ginawa ko maglakwatsa, magbabad sa internet, travel, shop, malling with my daughter. I invested all the money I received abroad as "abuloy" and ang interest/income dun ay yung panggastos namin ng anak ko.I was lonely, lost, alone. totoo wala akong direction. kasi ganito yun, i spent 7yrs of my life(and a few before that) preparing myself to be a good wife and mother. when I became one, i realized yun ang calling of my heart, I was happy and satisfied and contented and joyful with that. 3 yrs and until now hindi ko pa rin alam paano i explain yung emptiness with this kind of loss. katuwang sa buhay, half of your life, the rib from which you were taken from Biblically, tapos biglang mawawala dahil namatay unexpectedly. yes guguho ang mundo mo.

you asked if nag try ba kaming mag move on agad? mahirap yun isipin agad after mamatayan ng asawa. kasi nga ang unang papasok sa isip mo nun is move on where? how? para ano pa? the only thing that keeps me sane now is my daughter. 1 yr after I realized I had to work kasi I cant keep spending and spending baka maubos yung insurance money intended for my daughter's future so I had to go back to work to earn and to keep myself busy. pero I have to admit, 1month na rin ngayon na wala akong work, I decided na full time na muna ako sa pre-schooler ko kasi nung nagwowork ako, I noticed pumapayat siya kasi she wouldnt eat or sleep early pag wala pa ako sa tabi niya. She's scared to lose me din kasi she was there in our bed when I was giving CPR to her dad and when paramedics were trying to revive him and after it, the next time she saw her dad nasa kabaong na.

About dating, yes I did try that months after he died. Tao lang naman, bata pa ako, but it wasnt for anything but to fill that loneliness inside. Hahanapin mo yun eh, yung admiration from a guy, or simply a hug from a man, lalo na when you lived 7 years with a husband who pampered you like a queen. So far there's just one guy who's technically single but may pamilya. I chose him because alam ko hindi siya hihingi ng commitment from me, and alam ko from the start walang pupuntahan yung relationship kaya I dont give anything and I dont expect anything in return. Just occasional companionship. From the start I told this guy "I love my husband and no man can ever come close to him in my life". I know its creepy and cruel, and he even asked me to open my eyes during intimate moments para daw makita ko kung sino kasama ko.

i hope i was able to give you an insight sis, pasensya na kung walang cohesion tong sinasabi ko dito at medyo magulo. masakit pa rin pala kasi.

ang hirap ng ganyang sitwasyon, pag naiisp ko pa lang hindi ko na matanggap how much more pa kaya kung andyan na baka masira ang ulo ko. thank you for sharing, its not too late para makabawi sa mga hubby natin.

He has a family and kids, but he's not married and they're no longer living together for a year now  the physical intimacy only happened when one point in my life I wasnt sure If I was a normal human being anymore kasi parang patay na lahat ng emotions ko, walang galit, walang happiness, walang empathy, no more dreams. I was just existing , no longer living. The only feeling I had then was hunger, I ate and ate and ate until I vomited but I still felt hungry. Syempre andun pa rin yung pagiging nanay ko, I still took care of my baby, mahal ko yun no matter what happens, but for a few months, inalalayan ako ng people around me kasi minsan nakakalimutan kong mag prepare ng breakfast for my daughter kasi ayaw ko na gumising.

I gave hubby years of my life devoted to nothing but to just be there for him, take care of his needs and be his best friend. Siguro rin nung last 2yrs of his life, he had this feeling na hindi na siya magtatagal. We were so in sync with each other that pag naririnig kong nagbubukas yung elevator sa flat namin at may naglalakad sa hallway, alam  ko na siya yun dahil nakatatak na sa puso ko yung tunog ng footsteps niya. and 6months before he died, nagtataka lang ako bakit halos every night he wanted physical intimacy, eh ok lang sana kung 1yr pa lang kami, eh 7yrs na and he was in his 40s already. And one time, I said I wanted to visit my sister living in another country kahit 1 week lang, and we won’t have to spend anything pa kasi libre. And he said NO. I asked him for 20 reasons why and he said to me 20 times na he couldn’t survive the day without me by his side. And every time I tried to remind him to take good care of his health para naman umabot pa siya sa kasal ng anak namin, he would say, masyadong matagal na yun. Tapos when I say, kahit debut na lang, he still said hindi na siguro. Tapos nung sinabi ko na kahit HS graduation na lang, he just smiled at me. And around 8 months before, ang parati niyang pinapatugtog sa car ay yung kantang Butterfly Kisses, yung wedding march namin na Love Moves in Mysterious Ways at pag gabi madalas akong patugtugan nun ng Imagine Me Without You (...when I found you I was blessed and I would never leave you, I need you....I cant imagine me without you)...

I should have paid attention to the signs. Lalo na when he said na pag gabi minsan he felt like someone was choking him to death. And around 10 years ago whenever I asked him to go to church with me, he would say na ayaw pa niyang magbagong buhay kasi feeling niya pag ginawa niya yun kukunin na siya ni Lord. Yet around a year before he died, he became a changed man, mas strong pa ang faith nun kesa sa akin. He left all his vices for good at kulang nalang maging pastor yun eh.

Nandun na yung signs but I ignored it. Yes may regrets ako, kasi kahit alam ko naibigay ko na lahat, alam ko I could have done better. Call it guilt or what. I know he was happy and contented with me kasi nung bumisita Pastor namin sa bahay around 12noon (his aneurysm ruptured at around 9pm) that day, sinabi niya sa pastor na " Nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord for giving me 'd" as my wife kasi if not for her, hindi ako magbabagong buhay, and I wouldnt have known and felt this kind of joy in my life" .... and this is true, di ba he was confined for like 23 days before he became brain dead kasi nga may 1st rupture ng aneurysm so they had to totally sedate him for 10 days muna para ma contain nila. The moment they took him off sedation and he woke up with me beside him sa ICU, he told me "bey, may CALLING ako. tinatawag ako ni Lord" ..and i said baka magiging missionary ka or pastor din. and he said siguro. but I guess he was telling me na tinatawag na siya ni Lord....

kaya love your spouses as if today is his/her last day on earth.

My condolences to our sissies.
Dami ko natutunan from this thread. I'm newly married (7months) and I have this habit of being cold or distant 'pag nagtatampo o may pinagseselosan. Few days ago, I was in this state until I have read this thread. And then I realized I'm wasting away the precious time when I could have used it to express and demonstrate my love to him. Kaya ayun, napa- I love you ako nang di oras and all the coldness in me warmed up and melted. One point that struck real hard was that line na ni-mention ni sis Gabrielle Andre about us marrying imperfect persons. Kaya if I will see faults in him, iisipin ko na lang these are his imperfections and I should accept it. We have to love our husbands for who they are, flaws and all. (A reminder to myself, first and foremost).

I haven't even updated my blog (fromsinnertosaint.blogspot.com ) for a year now kasi tulad nga ng kanta na "let the pain remain forever in my heart, for every throb it brings is one more moment spent with you.... "

i don't know if this is normal, or if I am using my current status as scapegoat. But I tried to go back to living, pero may moments pa rin talaga when depression takes over. I don't know kung may kilala kayong ibang mga bata pang na biyuda who holds on to everything. Yung mga gamit nga lang niya in my dresser table, yung wedding ring, watch, cellphone, and wallet, I don't know if normal pa ba akong tao.

There are times when I think na sana kahit na extend man lang ng 2yrs pa ang buhay niya para nakita niya anak niya pumapasok ng pre-school. (My daughter  just turned 3 a month before he died on June 2009 and was supposed to enter pre-school on August of that year tapos may nabili na nga siya actually na Dora bag with wheels kahit alam naman niya masyadong malaki yung bag  :D ) Then I realize di ba sabi nila yung bata nakakalimutan daw yung mga memories from age 0-3. So maybe he was taken nung ganun pa lang age ng anak namin to spare my daughter the pain of losing her daddy considering daddy's girl yun.

di ko kaya balikan mga posts mo sis, naiiyak ako. pero i know you'll get through this. di naman talaga mawawala ang pain, lalo na pag maalala mo yung mga happy moments nyo ni hubby mo. pero ang importante, mas madami kayong happy moments diba, and may baby kayo. though i don't know you personally, i know super strong ka sis, and for sure, makakarecover ikaw. it is not easy to move on lalo na pag mahal mo na tao ang pinaguusapan, pero sis, let go and let God.
sis, si camille prats diba maaga din na byuda? we don't know kung ano sya behind her tv shows, pero looking at her right now, she's a strong person din like you. there will be times na maalala mo at maalala mo , pero ang ginagawa nya is she tries to divert her attention sya ibang bagay.
God bless you always sis.
