May free guided tour in English for reservation pa. we didn't avail it since may nagtour naman sa min. I guess keri na ikaw na lang. Advance reading na lang sa wikipedia hehe

mga sis ask ko lang kung magkano lang ang limit na dapat dalhing money dollar or yen palabas sa atin, and saan magandang magpapalit ng peso to yen, planning to go to tokyo by october, sana nga lang maapproved visa  ,thanks

as far as I know, there's no limit but exceeding $10,000 you have to declare and subject it for customs clearance. i am not sure if pwede ang peso to yen but as for dollar to yen, the airport's money changers have good rates.

@foxy_girlfriend: baka sumilip lang din ako. hehe. pinagiisipan ko pa kung paano ko pagkasyahin yung mga gusto ko puntahan ng hindi ako nagmamadali at each place. Sobrang dami ng gusto ko puntahan and gawin kaya ang hirap pagkasyahin. Pero disneyland/sea & Mt. Fuji naman talaga ang main target ko kaya kung ano pa ma-squeeze ko is a bonus nalang.

@gorgeous_me: i'm going solo this august and first time ko mag solo sa foreign country! Nung nalaman ng parents ko na magisa ako pupunta, sinabi agad na isama ko bro & sis ko (both younger) at sagot nila ang pamasahe - baka daw kasi "ma-yakuza" ako dun. Haha! But from all the feedback from the different travel forums na pinuntahan ko, I am convinced na Japan is safe. Pero syempre, dapat alert palagi.

^ ako lang kasi pag sinama ko sila, I need to move my travel date to October (sem break nila), eh naka-file na ako ng leave for August kaya sabi ko sa parents ko, next travel nalang nila ako pasamahan. Hahaha.

Around 7D 6N ang count ko, pero 5 full days lang halos dahil afternoon ang dating at alis ng flights ko. 3N sa tokyo then 3N sa loob ng disneyland (isip bata! haha!). Delta air nakuha ko. 550sgd so roughly mga 15-17k php. Sa hotels, naghanap ako sa agoda & hotels.com. Excluding yung airfare and hotels, I will try to limit my spending sa Japan to 30k. Pero impulsive buyer ako lalo na sa mga cute na mga bagay kaya goodluck talaga ang credit card.

grabe na-eexcite naman ako sa trip mo, if ever, this will be my first solo travel na out of the country, na-try ko pa lang, out of town, tsaka, lagi kong kasama mga kapatid ko kapag out of the country, kaya hindi ko lam kung isasama ko yung disneyland at USJ kasi, ako lang mag-isa, haha...plan ko, puro tourist spots lang, nahihirapan nga din ako kung anong mga places, ang plan ko pa naman, Osaka-Tokyo-Kyoto, hindi ko lam kng keri pa ang Nara, kasi expensive na sa Osaka ata Tokyo, haha

Finally going to Japan this Aug 18!!! haay my dreamland hehe. I'll be arriving in Haneda then going to Nagano by 12pm. I'll stay in Nagano (biz trip) for 4 days. After that I can go back to Tokyo!! Wohoo. I'm thinking of staying for three more days...would that be enough? Thinking of going to Disneyland but I'm traveling alone Baka di ko maenjoy...loner mode in a happy place? Lol Or would you suggest stay in Tokyo city itself and roam around harajuku and other famous places for 3 days? Anyone?

^^Sis, suggested place sa tokyo: imperial palace, disney resort, disneyland, ginza district, asakusa temple. If you are into photography, you will enjoy the scenic views ng imperial palace grounds.. disney resort has more thrilling rides than disneyland. Year round yatang maraming tao ang mga theme park nila so mas maganda to purchase the fastpass para maikot mo lahat.

^try mo Akasaka Excel Hotel... it's in Akasaka-Mitsuke area in Tokyo. Tatawid ka lang ng street, metro station na, which is really convenient way to travel into nearby places in Tokyo. Safe siya kahit gabi na at dami ring makakainan kahit past 12 midnight na. The area is not so very crowded, unlike the Asakusa area..

^^yep, all-year round na maraming tao sa disney.. esply kung weekend. you don't need to "purchase" fastpass. libre siya. yun lang, first come, first served. try to visit the disney website and ilista nyo na lang yung mga rides na may fast pass. hindi kasi lahat meron nun eh. then, agahan nyong pumunta sa Disney. as soon as you get there, punta na agad kayo sa mga nilista nyong rides na may fastpass, ipasok nyo sa parang booth yung inyong "passport ticket" (yung stub na ibinigay sa inyo sa entrance), then you will get your fastpass ticket na ipapakita/ibibigay nyo dun sa entrance ng ride on your designated time allowance. may separate na queue kasi yung may mga fastpass.

Regarding hotels in tokyo, basta nasa price range na 5-7 k yen, okay na 3 star ibig sabihin nun. Malinis in general nakastay nako sa super mura to midrange. And anywhere malapit sa metro or underground ok na choice, may ride all you can kasi ang metro o underground, parang nasa 700 yen a day. Hindi kasama ang jr lines. Paconfirm na lang!

And then tips regarding restaus in japan.
Mura ang lunch time! No tingin lang kayo sa menu sa labas, pics. May mga lunch set or ランチセット around 700-1000 yen ok na yun. Tapos may time until 2 lang usually. Pag dinner time wala na yung menu na yun. And mahirap mag advice saan masarap kasi mahirap iplano ang meals. So far lahat ng nakainan ko unplannned! Tingin sa labas tapos yun pasok lang. Depende sa menu.

Try out japanese pastas! Dito ka lang makakakita ng spaghetti na may fish roe, sea weed, raw egg, etc! Sarap din pag tipid mode masarap din naman sa mga fastfood itsura na tonksatu, or tempura (Tenya) meron sa harajuku. Dont plan too much sa food!

sis if you don't mind, ask ko lang what type of visa? tourist or visit relatives? also is this your first time to apply for a japanese visa? I submitted sa reli tours megamall last sunday pa and wala balita till now.  this is our first application for japan visa and im wondering bakit umabot ng 1 week. sa mom ko kasi before, sa reli megamall din, after 3 days may news na agad like request for additional documents tpos after 3 days ulet she got her passport with visa na. ang difference nga lang, visit relative yung sa kanya samin ngayon with hubby and baby, tourist.

Hi mga sis! Ako ulit!

Super excited na ako, 19 days to go before my trip! I have my hotels booked, as well as my Mt. Fuji tour. I pretty much have my itinerary fixed na din. Nakakatuwa kasi parang Amazing Race ang drama ko. Basta maka-picture sa isang place, ok na. Move-on agad. 

I do need your help with regards to taking trains. Naisip ko na hindi practical if I get a JR Pass dahil Tokyo lang naman ako. What's a good alternative? I've read about Pasmo Suico & Seishun but I am not sure if I can use that on all trains.

Another question - are train stations in Japan all connected (parang Singapore) and you can use one the same card for all trains? Tipong swipe sa red line and then kahit magpalipat-lipat ka ng green and purple and yellow, once ka lang mag tap-out when you actually exit? Or is it parang mrt/lrt trains sa Manila?

^hi, sis. as far as i know, pwede to all lines ang passmo or suica pass (not sure lang sa mga local trains na hindi JR)...

^lahat pwede gamitan ng pasmo and suica kahit ndi JR like yurikamome line sa odaiba and seaside line papuntang hakkeijima sea paradise. tren lang yata ng disney ang ndi pwede...
you can use pasmo sa bus and convenience stores.

train lines sa Okinawa and Hokkaido lang ang hindi connected sa mainland.
(though me bullet train na connecting mainland to Hokkaido).
Kanto(Tokyo), Kansia(Osaka) connected ang mga lines.

@sis gorgeous me: Ako rin! Late October to early November. Sana in time to enjoy autumn.

I plan to apply via Friendship Tours kasi malapit sa office. Will apply during the first week of September for my trip in the third week of October. (crossing fingers)

Medyo nakalimutan ko na yung draft itinerary ko dahil ilang buwan ding natulog ang planning for Japan because of other trips.

^wow melodymedley, ang yaman mo talaga, hehe, last year nasa europe ka sayang mas mauuna ka pala sa akin, solo ka ulit ba? tips ulit ha, budget traveller kasi ako, birthday gift na din, initial plan ko europe, kaso, may may out of the country pa kaming isa, kaya hindi kakayanin, makakapag-intay naman si europe kinakabahan ako na excited...haha
