^ladies, check nyo www.seek.com.au or www.careerone.com.au to get a feel of what the australian labour market can offer you and what's available. Track it for at least a month or even 2 to see the bigger picture.
Please remember though that most people really start from scratch at trabaho mo lahat pati mag-photocopy, print, bind ng sariling reports kahit manager ka pa.

hi mga sis...i must say maganda ang health care system nila dito sa australia ha, i just had a lumpectomy and sagot lahat ng insurance ko lahat and nakuha ko ang 85% ng mga labtest ko, den a friend of mine nanganak dito last 2 weeks ago, wala rin syang binayaran and may bumibisita sa house nila for her and the baby...take note were still under student visa

Pano ka pala nag apply. I've been to Sydney last november. I love Australia ang sarap isigaw talaga. I'm thinking of ways how to go back there, sana permanently na.

Kaso nag try ako pa asses thru emails lang ha sa mga consultants, letter of refusal agad, kasi PA lang work ko or Admin side lang.

sa totoo lang kahit comfortable ang buhay namin dito sa manila, may maid and all, ayaw ko magpalaki ng anak dito. ang dumi, walang systema, walang security. kahit sabihin mo pa sa high end subdivision or school ka pa. pag labas mo, ganun din.

sana maka migrate kami. hay!

But it's because you're paying for private insurance sis.  Even in the Philippines naman, if you're paying for private health care, you'll get most of your expenses depending on your cover.

Most locals are not happy with their health system here.  Medicare is free so as with anything free, quality service is often compromised.  Many people have to wait months for surgery.  Most states don't meet the 4-hour service period for an emergency case (imagine that!) and in many cases, emergency cases are not seen by doctors but by nurses only.  I mean, it's still so much better than the Philippines but for a 1st world country, Australia is at the bottom of the list in terms of public health system.

hi mga Sis, we're planning to invite my in-laws soon....as a requirement, each applicant over 18yo has to complete an application form..hmmm pano yung mga supporting docs na provide namin like stat dec, certified copies of our passports, marriage/birth cert kaylangan meron si mom-inlaw at father-inlaw? or one copy lang? di ko kase sure kung pano pag submit sa pinas ng application nila kung magkahiwalay ng envelope or magkasama. thanks

My life was  super comfy in Manila...office, kain, tulog with shopping galore ....ang sarap sa Manila -pag may pera.

Now, andito ako sa Australia with my kids kasi nga para sa future nila.

Hays..."maid" na ako dito lolz....taga luto, laba, linis, hatid sundo kids....to top it all off- kadilakad pa ako!! Mahal mag shop dito.  Bigla ako naging middle class.

Anyways, tiis tiis nalang para sa mga bata, maganda naman dito kasi malinis ang hangin, great well rounded education ( daughter in school has apple mac as her own comp.), super safe dito sa suburb ko.

 Pag nag uni. na sila (hopefully pasa please!!), maka uwi na ako sa Pinas kahit half year lang....

Mas maganda magkasama kami family sa isang bansa, right now kalat coz we have a business in Manila na di maiwan.  Hayzzzz.

^Soooo true! Exactly the same here.  I'm sticking it out here because it is indeed better to raise kids here, basta bantayan lang kasi kakaiba rin naman ang values ng mga bata (esp. teens) here.  Hubby loves it here as well and with our first baby on the way, I think I've finally accepted that we will be here for the long haul.  Hopefully though, it is in the Philippines that we will retire because what you said is perfectly true -- masarap sa Pilipinas pag may pera ka.

I second the motion!
Hindi biro ang manirahan dito especially kapag may anak na. Nauubos ang oras sa gawaing bahay at na-co-compromise ang social life. Kung sa Pilipinas madali lang ang mag-schedule ng kain sa labas with friends at mag-catch-up ng walang hinahabol na bata. Dito mahirap. Ndi na nga kami makapag-date ng asawa ko na kami lang kasi wala kaming paghahabilinan sa anak namin. Nakakahiya naman sa friends (we don't have relatives in our area) at magastos naman kung kukuha pa ako ng babysitter kasi ang taas na ng ibinabayad sa childcare fees.

i know sis Prisma! nakapag work kasi ako sa U.S and although nga mahirap walang maid, i think mas okay narin yun kesa naman, lumaki sa polluted, unsafe environment ang anak ko.

tsaka, ang pinaka ayaw ko dito kasi sa Manila, yung emotional stress ng family ko. sa amin kasi, parang dad ko yung takbuhan. so plastican sila, mabait sa harap niya even my lola kasi may pakinabang tatay ko sa kanila eh.

so isip ko, ayaw ko ng ganung buhay. may pera ka nga pero lahat ng taong nakapaligid sayo concerned lang sayo dahil may pakinabang sila sayo.

buti pa nga yung eldest uncle ko sa states. sila sila lang ng family niya andun. nakitira kasi ako dun when i worked there. at least nasubaybayan niya lumaki yung kids niya. now, pati apo niya, nakikita niyang lumaki.

sa tingin ko mas okay sa ibang bansa kesa dito for me. kaya naghahanap ako kung saan ba maganda mag start ng family.

kasi plan ko aalis na ako dito once dumating yung time na wala narin akong maiiwan dito. tutal i have 1 sister lang naman.

Mahirap dito dahil "yaya/gardener/Fix it man" nga ako BUT naging super close ako sa anaks ko dahil wala ng yaya.  I understand them more.  Dati kasi sa Manila, may yaya to do all our bidding.

I so  agree to you sis Port80. Recently nga I brought my kids to dentist, i got shock when i ask to quote how much ang bunot ng ngipin, $150 per tooth. Iba pa ang cosltation fee. Not satisfying pa kasi before they do procedure, they have to do x-ray muna.
