yay, an OZ thread!

i'm planning a trip to OZ for september, staying for around three weeks. just to tour lang talaga. but i'm getting discouraged because ang mahal ng airfare! does anybody know where i can score cheap tickets? planning to land and stay in sydney

we're migrating to Australia on January. So excited and scared at the same time. Problem namin is that my 4yr-old son needs to attend speech therapy, mga sis may marerecommend ba kayo around Randwick area? Kickstart seems to be a good choice kaya lang baka kasi mahaba yung waiting list so we need a back-up plan. Hopefully too once we're settled na I can go back to school.

sis Liana the kickstart website has good information so high chances that the service is great. Baka naman pwede ka na magpa-waitlist as early as now para tuloy-tuloy ang therapy ng anak mo.

Good luck with your preparations to migrating here. Medyo mahirap din pumili kung ano ang dadalhin sa mga gamit/damit nyo.

^ thanks sis lalei, nagpawaitlist na kami sis kaya lang right now di pa sure if magkakaron ng available slot for their speech pathologist. But since matagal pa naman sana nga magkaron kami ng slot.

my husband bought me a Chanel bag from a US website recently which was worth over AU$2k but we didn't get taxed at all. I have no idea why! Nagprepare na nga ako pangbayad sa tax e!

^nope, it was stated on the website that they're not liable for any taxes that we might incur as soon as the item enters Australia's border

and bakit makakasama yun sa bayad ko when the seller and website is based in the US diba? So hindi sya talaga kasama at hindi talaga ako na-tax for whatever reason I dont know

dipende kasi sa pupuntahan mo sis ang travel card mo, kung ang biyahe mo eh train and bus, mag multi 2 ka para kahit saan pede kang sumakay maging malayo man o malapit or paulit ulit sa isang linggo pede yun kaya lang mejo mahal $48/week, kung bus lang naman papuntang city at 3x/week k naman sumasakay mag travel ten ka and it will cost u $36 or $34.20 kung puro ka nman train meron din...magask k lang sa news agency or kahit sa mga convenient store at bibigyan ka nila.. cheers!!

my mom declared her set of Zwilling knives worth way more than the $1,000 dollar limit. She was asked if she brought it in the country for non commercial purposes. she said yes, for her own kitchen. the officer just frowned a little, look here and there...and didn't tax her.

now the daughter of my friends BFF, is into buying and selling small not so expensive items in Ebay but due to the volume of the trading, the ATO contacted her parents.

so maybe i guess volume has something to do with it? commercial vs non-commercial purpose?

Mga Sis, pano ba ang procedure ng kumpil dito? my son just turned 8 last month and he's excited and very much willing to receive the Holy Communion. meron bang ganun dito hehehh...thanks =)
