guys, i need your help, if i wish to get my certificate of residence status in melbourne, is there a DIAC office other than Dandenong? I heard there was one in CBD, would any of u be kind enough to give it to me? Also, if i go there to get my certificate, do i need to have an appointment? or I can just go there straight away, together with my completed form and identifying documents? thanks in advance to those who will respond.

^thanks Sis lalei, i have tried the scooter this afternoon while my daughter was playing in the park, it was very tiring.  now i'm thinking of using a bicycle instead as what i've read from other posts somewhere however is there a certain rule where bicycles must be parked at the bicycle parking area? i can see some bikes that are just attached to a post but i wanted to make sure to avoid any penalties or whatsoever. or they don't get penalties at all?

the reason why i am thinking about this is because i wanted to avoid being late for work as i also bring my daughter to school every morning plus after office i don't need to run to pick up my daughter from school. this can save me some minutes. please help=)

Ang alam ko may mga bike parking areas lang din talaga. Ok lang sana mag-lagay sa mga poles kung saglit mo lang iiwan pero kung for the entire day medyo mahirap yon. I suggest you ask your company kung meron silang Biker User Group. Usually meron yan baka din matulungan ka nila where you can park your bike.

Hope this helps in a way. I can relate to your predicament. I would also suggest to start learning to drive. Malaking tulong kung matuto ka rin mag-drive. It took me a year to learn and get my licence kaya in time magagawa mo rin yon.

^^Sis sandalwood, i bought a foldable bicycle from goldcross around $400. gamit ko rin sya from home to office.  meron akong nakita sa big-w nasa $200 lang pero unbranded sya. difference nila, lighter in weight yung nabili ko, dahon yung brand. just wear helmet and familiarize yourself with the road rules, most esp right hand driving dito. i'm sure mag enjoy ka mag bike like me and i find it easier to drive here compared satin sa pinas.

Sis, there's a weight restriction for items sent by EMS (Philpost) -- it's 20kg. per box / item.  EMS is transported by air so I suppose it would be treated the same way as in any cargo.  Way better than having it shipped by sea (which is what they recommend for heavy items).  If you're really bent on having it sent here, just make sure it's packed well (bubble wrap all breakable parts, etc.).

i have a question, i have a friend whos in student visa and she has 3 jobs. I wonder is it allowed to students to work over 20hrs?

magkakaproblem ba sa immig kpag nakita nila na nagwork sya ng sobra sobra? and isa rin ba ito sa magiging reason para hindi makakuha ng pr?

Kung school holiday ok lang sila mag-work ng more than 20 hours pero kung regular school days ang alam ko dapat 20 hours lang. Otherwise baka magka-trouble sya sa immigration. Kung cash on hand naman ibang work nya ayos lang pero kung ndi, mas maganda na sumunod na lang sya sa allowable hours kesa naman magkaproblema pa sya.

^ Sis, of course go to Sydney Opera House. Explore Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. Maghapon na agad para lakarin lang yan. Have a photo at Town Hall and enjoy the shops and architecture of Queen Victoria Building. Isang araw na agad yan na photo op.

Mag-ferry ka to different areas like Manly Beach, Cremorne etc meron naman guide sa Circular Quay ng schedules. Make sure to get a Day Pass for this para sulit. We had fun doing this.

Spend a day in Bondi, although personally I think Bondi beach is overrated. See it for yourself.

Punta ka din sa Featherdale Zoo and if you still have time visit Blue Mountains. Meron din namang mga package tours sa China Town area combining Featherdale and Blue Mountains in one day.

You might want to check www.immi.gov.au to find out what your options are, immigration-wise.

If you have no family here to sponsor you for a permanent resident visa, chances are you will have to start with a skilled migrant visa or something similar, and that would mean you'll be considered an international student if you want to study. As an international student you'll have to pay full fees which can cost more than $20k a year.

^Around P150K+ if you apply directly, costs could easily double if you're getting a migration agent.
