Hello sisses..  Hubby, our 4.9 y/o daughter and I are going to Australia for 8 to 9 days only come mid May 2010.  Give and take, we only have 6 to 7 days minus the flight hours.  Hope someone here can help us with our itinerary given the number of days and the approaching cold weather.  Please consider we are travelling with a 4+ year old kid.

Hubby and I have been to Sydney in 2004.  Now he's thinking of bringing us to Perth where it's more laid-back and maybe some day trips out of Perth.

Just to give you guys an idea, when we travel, since we have a little kid with us, we usually don't join tour group as we want to relax and enjoy example the food we eat, well, our daughter is a slow-eater and a picky one at that, so we spend quite a time just doing that  .   

Hope someone here can help us.  We don't want to be in a rush but at the same time, I don't want to feel like we've just wasted our trip.     

One more, pasensya na, demanding noh?  Chinese restos recommendations are highly appreciated!

^Hi sis, 6-7 days is too long if you are not going to go out of Perth.  The city is pretty small and you can actually tour it in a day or two.  If you are limited to using public transport, there's not many places you can go to for day trips.  You'll really have to rent a car and drive if you want to go out of the city.

Allot maybe 3 full days for city tour, including shopping.  Go to Scarborough or Cottesloe beach.  There's not much you can do at the beaches here kasi walang establishments on the beachfront itself.  As in dala ka ng sarili mong mat, sarong, chair, tent, whatever tapos tumambay ka lang ganun lang.  There are always public toilets and changing rooms though and they're all free.  Since you're bringing along your kid, you might enjoy the Perth Zoo and Whiteman Park (it's an interactive park where you can pet animals).  She might also enjoy the AQWA (Aquarium of WA) but this is not commutable really and could be difficult to get to without a car. 

Allot 1 full day for exploring Fremantle.  This is commutable by train so shouldn't be a problem.  There's a free bus that goes around Fremantle as well.

You can also visit Rottnest Island for a day trip or stay overnight. 

For day trips, see if Yanchep National Park interests you.  It's about 45 mins. outside of Perth.  The Moore River and Lancelin are along the same route, about 1hr. and 1.5 hrs. away from Perth respectively.  Lancelin is famous for its (water sports) beach and sand dunes -- your hubby might want to try sandboarding or a Hummer 4x4 adventure on the sand dunes but it's pretty expensive.  Moore River has a park where the mouth of the river meets the Indian Ocean and it's really, really beautiful there.  Spend a day there just hanging around or kayaking or boating and you'll love it   You can check out my blog (link in my sig) for Moore River and Lancelin pics.

If you guys are into wine, visit Swan Valley.  There are a lot of wine-and-cheese tours in this area as it's very famous for its vineyards.

There are so many more places outside of Perth you can go to but these involve at least 3-4 hours driving and most of them are really beaches and nature parks.  If you're up to it, drive south to Busselton and Dunsborough -- beautiful coastal communities.  Further south is Margaret River, very famous for its wines and surfing beaches.  We've never gone further than that actually  

Hope this helps   I've only been here a year or so and haven't really explored much of WA.  This summer, we've gone on a few road trips and it was really good.  I just recently got a brochure of Perth and WA attractions and have been trying to visit as many of the places as we can while it's still summer

hi question lang po, if you are applying for a fiancee visa and then after 9 mos. nagpakasal na po kayo ng fiancee mo na australian citizen... that means australian citizen na din po kayo agad nun? and then pwede nyo na rin po ba kunin yung parents and siblings mo to petition? or hindi na po pwede since ang immediate family mo ay yung wife mo na? hindi na po counted ang parents and siblings as immediate family since nagpakasal na ganun po ba yun?

No. You won't be an australian citizen right away. You will need to apply for a Spouse Visa after getting married to your fiancee, while your Fiance visa is still in effect. You will get your permanent residency 2 years after the grant of your Spouse Visa.

You cannot petition anyone if you're only holding a Spouse visa, you must be a permanent resident or a citizen to do such.

And petitioning your parents or siblings isn't easy these days. It normally takes about 10 yrs for your parent visa to be approved. Unless you apply for a Contributory parent visa which is roughly $15k per parent-approval and grant is within 6 mos to a year

when I say "mahirap" mapetition, I don't mean the requirements. Although of course most people have a hard time shelling out $30,000 for both parents when they apply for the contributory. When I say mahirap, I mean MATAGAL ang processing ang normal parent visa. It's on www.immi.gov.au check mo na lang gano katagal processing ng normal parent visa sa contributory.

Also, one of the requirements states that kelangan half ng mga anak ng parents na ipepetition are permanent residents in Australia.

Go to Goldcoast.  In Brisbane- walang masyadong mapuntahan except for their city which is small- it'll just take a day to tour I reckon.

however, our accommodation's going to be in Brisbane.. okay lang kaya yun tapos we'll go to Gold Coast? i read my train naman daw going there. hindi ba kami talo sa pamasahe? hehe.

pasagot huh. i think...depende sa job sis eh. merong iba, nakaka-swerte to find a job kahit wala dun. pero most of the times, mas gusto nila na andun talaga, siguro for the interview?. i have submitted quite a lot of CVs pero kapag merong nagiging interesado, they will always ask when i will go there. 

as for the SOL. merong announcement na maglalabas ng bagong list (more on doctors and nurses na yata ang priority nila). check mo sa www.immi.gov.au website kung kelan yun. i suggest, wait mo na lang yun kasi baka masayang lang ang ipapang-apply mo ng immigration tapos wala naman pala dun sa bagong list. marami rin kasi ang naapektuhan ng sept 23 changes na nasa waiting list ngayon eh.
