iba talaga [textspeak!] sis super_mom. this is my third christmas here and di pa din talaga mawala yung hahanap-hanapin mo yung nakasanayan natin sa pinas. i was hoping of visiting the philippines next year just so i could experience that again. :p

mga sis, i need help and your answers to my queries will be most appreciated. i'm planning kasi our initial entry to oz for next year.

my hubby is now in the philippines while me and my son are here in the UAE. initial plan sana namin ay to meet in HK tapos the 3 of us will go to Oz then back to UAE. yun nga lang, hirap na hirap ako ipag-coincide yung flights naming 3, to be boarding in the same plane. tapos, hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit yung plane fare ng hubby ko (MNL-HK-OZ-UAE) ay 3x sa airfare namin ng anak ko combined (UAE-HK-OZ-UAE).  with this, we might drop our HK plan and instead enter through Brisbane na lang and go to Gold Coast, in lieue of the HK tour.

ang tanong, ano bang maisa-suggest nyong airline from Manila to Brissy? a week ba ay enough na to tour around, or two? we shall be travelling with our 3 y/o kaya ayaw naman namin na masyadong hectic ang schedule. at least, 1 day na gala, 1 day pahinga. magkano naman kaya ang need na budget namin for such span of stay? madali lang kaya kumuha ng cheaper accommodation sa area? ano nga pala ang mode of transpo dun?

pasensiya sa dami ng tanong. kung ako lang mag-isa, i can manage sa kahit anong situation. since may kasama kaming toddler, i have to prepare for all situations. TIA!

^Sis, if I remember correctly, your visa is for Perth right?  Aren't you supposed to do your initial entry in that state?  Or did you mean you are going to Brisbane after Perth?

What you can do and how long you'll be staying will also depend on when you're planning to go.  Remember winter starts in June and Brisbane is known for it's rainy weather during winter.

yep WA-sponsored kami but we are planning to have our initial entry in Brisbane. wala naman daw magiging problema, as long as part of Australia pa rin. btw, we moved our travel plan to April instead of July because of the weather.

also, hihingi lang sana ng recommendation kung mas ok ba mag scout ng rooms for rent sa gumtree,realestate.com.au etc, when looking for a room or much better kung nasa Perth ka na mismo para u can do ocular inspection. mahirap daw kasi online kasi madaming competion? help naman po...

Sis, it's better to look for accommodations when you're here already.  Inspections are based on the real estate agent's or property owner's schedule, not yours.  Most of the time, they'll just give you a 15-minute window to view the property and if the property pa is nice, you'll get several other people with you on that 15-minute inspection time.  During that inspection time, you can get a form from the agent if you're interested, submit the paperwork and pay the reservation fee.  All applications are subject to approval.  After you submit your paperwork, it's a waiting game while they check your references, etc.

If you do get approved, they will ask you to pay 2 weeks advance plus a bond equivalent to 1 month rent.  Rent here is paid on a weekly basis.  After you have been notified of approval, you are given 24-48 hours to accept and sign the lease.  When you sign the lease, the keys are handed over to you and you start consuming your 2-week advance.  It is best to move houses within the 2 weeks so you don't waste the rent.  That's basically the process and I doubt if it would vary much even if you're dealing with an agent or a private owner.  That's why it is best to do it when you're here already.  Would be good to do a research on available properties and good areas first though before you actually make a shortlist and start booking appointments.

As for the Christian Church, I don't think there's any in Perth with a Filipino congregation.  We have a huge Filipino congregation here but I'm INC

hi sis! im hotpotato (i use this username more frequently kaya eto na ginagamit ko main acct), thanks for the info i already heard in another forum na its better for you to be in Perth already before scouting a unit/house. so ganun pala talaga ang policy. kayo ba sis when you first came in to Perth, how was your setup? kami naman kasi ang concern ko yung titiran namin for the first few weeks, kung maghahanap pa lang kami ng bahay pagdating namin ng Perth, ndi ko alam san recommended place to stay while hindi pa kami nakakakita ng matitiran.

unfortunately ive already asked them pero im afraid we dont have a branch in WA. our church in PI and here in SG aren't the same pero both of them dont have a branch in WA talaga. I just hope meron sa Perth kahit Hope, Victory or JIL
