@trig... salamat sa concern mo for us who wants to migrate to Oz. ang masasabi ko lang, iba-iba ang sitwasyon natin sa buhay. perhaps, ikaw hindi mo na kailangan pang mag-try tumira sa ibang bansa dahil comfortable na buhay mo dyan sa Pinas.

in our case (my case, pala), wala ang swerte ko sa bansa natin. yun siguro ang tinatawag na destiny.  and i hope, sa australia yun. hehe.

oh yeah... 1000K na rent? i have a 31 sqm row house sa liblib na bayan sa Cabuyao Laguna and i'm having it rented for 2000 pesos. hmm.. san nga kaya yang 1K na paupahan na sinasabi mo?

in our case (my case, pala), wala ang swerte ko sa bansa natin and i'm not gonna sit down and wait for luck to come my way. yep, it's worrying to leave one's comfort zone in search for that greener pasture, but if we don't go out and take risk, anong mangyayari sa buhay namin? siguro naman, before we even decided to lodge that migration application, we have weighed down the pros and cons. in MY case, the pros outshines the cons.

oh yeah... 1000K na rent? i have a 31 sqm row house sa liblib na bayan sa Cabuyao Laguna and i'm having it rented for 2000 pesos. hmm.. san nga kaya yang 1K na paupahan na sinasabi mo?

Trig, kung talagang concerned ka, then offer the people here jobs na 70000 a month ang sweldo, net na yan ha? And a house in Makati or Ortigas na marerent monthly ng 1000 dapat may kasamang parking space.

If you wala ka ma offer na something concrete like the above, your concern is all a bag of hot air.

Sis snow, I haven't seen the fireworks up close in Darling Harbour dahil tamad akong bumabad sa araw from morning til midnight to save a good spot. Pero sabi ni hubby pwedeng near the opera house or sa Cremorne area na kahit malayo makikita mo on a bigger picture ang fireworks.

May mga fireworks din each city. Don kami nagpupunta kasi maganda din without the hassle of staying under the sun.

ako din wala tyaga magbabad sa malapit sa harbout bridge to watch the fireworks. although baka manood kami ng carols in the domain this year. sino na nakapunta dito?

anyway, tungkol sa fireworks naman tayo. nung new year's eve sa darling harbour kami nanood. meron din kasi dun although syempre di kasing-bongga ng sa harbour bridge. tapos sa telly na lang namin pinanood yung fireworks sa bridge. 

this year, pass muna kami dahil sa victoria harbour in hong kong namin sasalubungin ang new year.

ay naku, para sa akin it's useless to keep on converting everything to peso. although syempre dumaan din ako sa stage na yan, lalo na nung wala pa kaming work ng husband ko we can't help converting kasi nga naman peso yung gingastos namin nun. pero we got over it. kasi we earn in dollars, we spend in dollars. kung lahat convert sa peso baka di na kami kumain dito! hahaha.

it's useless din to compare phils vs. aust parehas naman kasi may advantages at disadvantages.

When I was still in Manila, i was renting an apartment of around P10thou a month. that was cheaper compared to other units in the village.  there were apartments around P5thou a month but hey, i won't let my children live in that area, not safe at all.  my sister is paying around P2500 for just a bed space.

what's crab mentality? I'm living a good life in manila. Everything is cheap. I am working only 1 hour per day, and earning the same amount that you earn there converted to peso.

Some people here are spending millions of pesos to study (show money, etc etc), when in fact, in Manila your 1 million peso can earn 50k a month.

Some even spend more than 150k pesos a month on tuition, rent and others.

Sayang pera. It should have been put to good use in the Philippines. Pero baliktad. Yung pera natin napupunta sa Australia which should not be the case.

as I have been saying, a lot of Aussies have already transferred to the Philippines because life is so much easier, convenient, and so easy to put up a business. Now its up to you how you look at it. While you people are dreaming of coming back someday, there are those enjoying it already.

Sis lalei, first time kasi namin ni hubby magcelebrate New year sa Sydney and we want to try watching it. Last year we watched the fireworks sa Docklands, Melbourne.

Oo nga i heard talagang you have to reserve yung place hapon palang.  Pero sabi ng iba naman you can stay sa may botanical garden to watch the fireworks.  Medyo malayo konti at least mas peaceful daw at di magulo unlike kapag sa may Opera house ka watch. 

Last year yung officemate ko, sa may Opera house sila nagwatch.  Ang gulo daw kasi super dami ng tao. Hopefully, we can find a good spot.

hi gurls i'm moving to Melbourne next week, just wondering if anyone can give me an idea of the monthly expenses there... rent, food, transpo, utility bills etc. kahit near figures lang as alam naman natin it varies individually. thanks heaps!
