^ If his symptoms are due to Cow's milk allergy, then it is best that you stick to breastfeeding and just watch your diet. Tiyaga lang to eliminate dairy in your diet. It is for your baby's sake naman. 
Do not switch to formula without the advice of your gastro or an allergologist kasi hindi pwede sa mga patients na may cow's milk allergy ang mga regular cow's milk formula. Hindi rin pwede ang mga partially hydrolyzed milk like Similac HW or Nan Hw/ha since these 2 milk formulas are best given for prevention and not to those who have already been diagnosed with CMA.

^ Yes, probiotics may help improve his gastrointestinal problems and may even prevent or delay skin allergies if used early in life. Marami ng studies na nagsusupport regarding use of probiotics against allergies and gastrointestinal problems. Ask na lang your pedia for recommendations regarding probiotics.

^ You're welcome.
Caution lang on bee propolis. May allergy risk kasi ang bee propolis lalo na kung may mga pollens na nakasama sa pag-extract nito.
Better ang Lactobacillus GG if single strain lang siya, but most preparations here are mixed with other strains like in Protexin restore. Haven't seen Lactobacillus GG in healthy options, but it's been a long time since I've been there.

^thanks po ulet. sige po doc. actually i stopped it today kasi i also observed some weird behavior on my son but some says it is developmental daw (yung nagaatempt magvomit pero wala naman). gusto ko lang makasiguro. iif i may ask (sana hindi bawal), saan po ba available yung protexin? sa GNC or mercury meron po ba nun? i searched at mims pero Protexin Balance lang po nakita ko. ) a million thanks po.

@letletmd thank God may thread na ganito pala at may dr. tayo dito. I have consulted my daughter to a dermatologist and pedia as well. The derma said its skin asthma..but wala naman kaming history ng ganun both sides. The pedia said its another form of dermatitis but definitely not skin asthma. Its been 3 weeks now and wala pa din improvement..mas lumalala pa. She's taking antihistamin 2x a day, iterax 1x a day and prednisone once a day tapos physiogel cleanser pampaligo tapos physiogel lotion after. Nag try na din kami ng hydrocortisone cream pero wala pa din effect. Buong katawan na talaga may butlig pati mukha. Do i need to go to pedia allergologist na? Pls recommend the best doctor you know. So worried na. Thanks!

How old is your daughter? How long na ang rashes niya?
If doubtful ka sa diagnosis, you can bring your daughter to an allergologist para ma-assess if may skin asthma talaga siya or hindi. May criteria kasi for diagnosis for skin asthma.
Can you please state your location so I can recommend an allergologist near your area?

@letletmd 4weeks na yung rashes nya. Whole body na talaga. Las pinas area kami. Grabe parang lahat ng gamot na try ko na. I stopped the prednisone already since 3days lang ang reseta ng pedia and i've read na daming side effects nun. I only give anti histamine now kapg night time na lang kasi thats the time when its most itchy. But i still continue physiogel lotion. Hope you can reccommend the best pedia allergologist..if maxicare accredited better if not ok lang din. Thanks thanks!

If Las Pinas area, you can try Dr. Mary Anne Castor at Casa Medica or Dr. Jennifer Otadoy - Agustin at the University of Perpetual Help - DALTA medical center. Both are UP PGH trained allergologists. Not sure though if maxicare accredited.

hi! ngayon lang kami nakabalik sa pedia allergologist (Dra. Perez), nagpa schedule ako s aknaya ng skin prick test para sa anak ko. dapat kahapon yun, kaya lang biglang sinipon (sobrang baradong ilong) ang anak ko, so ang nagawa lang ay yung sa positive/negative. pero parehas nagpantal, parehas din ng laki. buti nalaman din ni dra na nagpapantal ang balat ng anak ko kapag nagkakamot siya. so hindi pala pwede sa kanya ang skin prick test kasi di daw maa-assess dahil most probably magpantal lahat.

pero may pwede pa naman daw gawin, yung allergy test throught immunocap. hindi pa lang namin alam kung saan pwedeng hospital gawin na pwede din ang fortune care.  pinapa check pa din kasi ni dra sa akin kung maco-covered ng health card namin dahil medyo mahal ang test.

alam niyo po ba kung saan pwede magpa allergy test (immunocap) na hospital? sana yun gpwede din ang fortune care.

by the way, sa megaclinic kasi kami nagpapacheck up kay dra. perez, hindi daw kasi kumpleto yung rast test dun kaya kami naghahanap sa iba.

You can try Medical City or Children's medical center. Sila ang alam ko na may immunocap/rast. Not sure if covered ito ng fortune care. Most of the time kasi HMOs don't cover this since this is a very expensive test. The best way to find out is to call Fortune care and ask them if they will cover it.

Thanks Dra. pwede ko po matanong sa inyo kung ano ang pinag kaiba ng immunocap at rast? hindi ko kasi masyadong natanogn si dra perez tungkol dun. sa megaclinic po kasi ay meron daw rast pero mas okay daw kung immunocap ang magawang test.

^Immunocap is a brand of RAST. Mas specific ang minimeasure ng Immunocap method compared to the basic RAST.

dra letlet 1 month na poh ang rashes ni baby...pag lumalabas at kakalmutin nya lalong namumula namamantal after a few minutes nawawala naman..nag search poh ako and maybe this is urticaria..last week nag pa check poh ako sa pedia allergo sabi nya dermographism ang tawag sa rashes ng baby ko...possible daw nag kasakit c baby 3 weeks before lumabas ang rashes,6 weeks kami on treatment levocetrizine xysal 1.5ml 2xday ang nirecommended ni doc..kaya lang nabasa ko sa leaflet nang gamot not recommended for 2yrs below.1 yr and 9mos ang anak ko 11.3kgs .natakot tuloy ako...tapos nag bigay din c doc ng antibiotic clarithromizine kasi may narinig c doc sa left lungs ni baby...hindi ko naitanong kay doc kng para sa lungs ang antibiotic or para sa rashes nang anak ko..hindi ko pa napapainom ang anak ko ng antibiotic pero 4 days na ang anak ko umiinom nang levocetrizine..may lumalabas pa rin na rashes pero hinda na masyadong namamantal namumula lang at hindi na masyadong makati...mawawala lang naman..does it mean dra letlet na may effect na ang gamot? do i still need to buy the antibiotic doc?la namang lagnat c baby..tapos sabi pala ng doktor ko after 6 weeks na andyan pa rin mag tetest na kami...

I suggest you follow what the pedia allergologist advised you to do since she was the one who was able to examine your child.
Xyzal can be given to kids 6 months and above with dosage adjusted to weight.
If it is urticaria, then it would help to determine the cause of the urticaria. As I mentioned before in this thread, the # 1 cause of urticaria in children is actually infection and not food. If it is infection that is causing the urticaria of your child, then the antibiotic given by your pedia allergo will help in treating and managing the symptoms of urticaria.
Do not be afraid to ask questions when you are with the allergologist or with any doctor so that your concerns can be addressed.

doc what if in 3 weeks na pag inom ng xysal nang anak ko nawala na totally yung rashes niya
can i stop it na? or do i really need to finish the 6 weeks treatment?
