Cleaning/Sterilization Tips for Bottles/Nipples/Pumps/Toys

been using mess out but now i shift to Smart steps. cheaper, same results. biodegradable din. pati detergent powder namin smart steps na din dati cycles.

i used mess out dati, messy bessy then nana yaya kaso yun nga meron amoy na naiiwan sa nipples and bottles yun amoy ng gatas. ano kaya best gawin?

Yun nana yaya yun 1 liter matagal din namin nauubos halos nakaka 1 month din ata kami

sis mikaela325 ok ba yan smart steps how much yun bottle cleaner? how about yun detergent magkano?

im using victoria kasi base nun experience ko sa first baby ko yun mga gatas na napunta sa damit nya nag aamoy panis kasi kahit nababad na sa victoria at na wash na. pero not sure if hand wash maalis yun.

we switched to nana yaya laking tipid din from cradles. hindi ko nachecheck ang amoy kasi hindi ako naghuhugas pero wala naman reklamo si yaya. check ko nga one of these days.

mga sis, kelangan ba talaga ng bottle sterilizer? or tama na yung wash wash na lang sa hot water with antibac detergent soap? sorry kung mejo out sa topic yung question ko..hihi..tia

^sis i remember reading something about antibac.. feeding bottle companies discourage the use of such because it can damage/corrode the bottle at some degree..

as to your other question, i used to sterilize my baby's bottles using a sterilizer.. but now, through boiling na lang

How do you assemble your bottles after sterilizing? May nabasa kasi ako once nalagay sa open air useless na rin pag sterilize so what i do i assemble right after sterilizing, eh hindi ba nakaka form ng bacteria yun naiiwan na moist sa loob? I know drying racks are sold sa market for a purpose pero medyo nakakalito

question, when you sterilize the bottles and nipples, should the nipples stand alone or should they be attached na to the cap? If the nipples will be sterilized separate from the cap, how do you put them together?

I was unpacking my avent bottles and changing the nipples of my 9oz. bottles from level 2 to level 1 and noticed it took some pulling to get the nipples in place. Do I need separate tongs to assemble the bottles? Do the tongs need to be sterilized too?

here's how i do it: after washing, attach ko na yung teats sa ring pati cap/cover (reason: para ma-minimize ko yung contact sa teats after the sterilization, pwede na ikabit agad) , the adapter ring (im using avent bottles) sama-sama lang then sterilize using steam sterilizer...after that i just wait for about 15 mins to cool down enough for handling then assemble ko na...sa pag-attach ng adapter ring, i only touch its upper, outer portion (the white part) which doesn't come into contact with the milk...wisik lang the excess water inside the bottles then attach all parts and fill with water...i prefer not to leave them sa drying rack to dry coz i think higher ang chance na magkaron ng contaminants, ending di na sterile...for me, it's important na properly washed and rinsed yung bottles but what matters more is how you handle the bottles after the sterilization process..dapat clean hands , as much as possible avoid or minimize contact with the parts that come in contact with the milk...so far this method seems ok naman, di pa nag-diarrhea baby ko btw, ako gumagawa nyan coz mas kampante ako, i dont let the yaya do it...but if di maiwasan na si yaya gagawa, make sure na she follows your instructions as to how it should be done..minsan kasi may pagkabalahura yung iba lalo na pag di naman nakikita ng amo (sorry for the term)

^^ i prefer to use tongs when attaching the teats to the rings. We never touch a nipple that has been sterilized, always handle it with the tongs. Our avent sterilizer came with a nipple tong so this is what we use. It gets sterilized along with the bottles and parts.

We use dr browns bottles so madaming parts. Like imeego, we just make sure hands are clean when doing bottle assembly.

Pag cool down, we assemble all the bottles na And wipe dry the outside of the bottles then they are stored in a sealed plastic container.

hi new lang po ako dito. i used cradle before kaso medyo matapang ang amoy sabi ni hubby. kaya we opted for joy na lang since pag thorough [textspeak!] rinsing eh mas okei ang joy anti-bac. kaso i read dito sa thread na not recommended ang paggamit ng anti-bac. .
 so last week we bought smart steps bottle cleanser 400ml P124. i started using it sunday night, monday night nag-throw up si baby then wednesday night ulit and [textspeak!] last is nung friday. . super nagtataka kami kasi hindi siya nagto-throw up ever. cgro from baby cya up to now,wala pa 10times sya nag-throw up. super isip talaga kami anong pwedeng rison, and we suddenly thought baka [textspeak!] smart steps. starting saturday hindi na namin sya ginamit and since then hindi pa ulit throw up si baby. . i dont know if nagkataon lang or [textspeak!] scent nung smart steps ang ayaw nya talaga. okei na siya kaso back to joy anti-back ulit kami. next ko na try [textspeak!] midori.

First time to to read na pwede palang gamitin salt and water to clean the bottle, I will definitely try this mamya.

For me, I'm using smart step bottle cleanser and ok naman sya kaso nga lang eh ang hirap hanapin laging wala sa supermarket like sa robinson galleria and sm branches. Ang laging meron is yung smart step na detergent soap. Pati ata sa puregold eh nagcheck ako wala din...Meron lang akong nakita sa pioneer centre wich is hassle sa kin kung lagi kung dadayuhin yun.Baka meron kayong alam san merong stock ng smart step ha...

MGA sis,
after sterilizing, how do you dry baby's bottles, teats, cups?
ang practice kasi namin is after sterilize, taktak lang para matanggal ang mga remaining water drops then lagay na sa plastic box. then matagal na mawala ang mga water stains kapag andun na sa plastic box kasi close naman na yun.  pero anyway, hindi naman na-i-istock ng matagal kasi in 1-2days ay nagagamit naman na ulit yung item ni baby...
we also make sure na tuyo naman yung plastic box itself kung sakaling mag-accumulate ang water drops, tinatanggal agad para hindi bumaho.

do you use drying racks, dryers???  drying racks kasi feeling ko didikitan lang din ng alikabok...

Pigeon liquid cleanser for us... Wala naiiwan na scent sa bottles and accessories in baby...
