root cannal vs tooth extraction

may life span ba yung tooth after RCT? after that life span need na ba extraction or to undergo another RCT for that tooth? ano ba side effects after RCT? nagiging week & brittle ba yung tooth or hindi naman? ayoko talaga pabunot hanggant buhay pa naman yung tooth. sayang e.

after pala alisin nung dentist ko yung bulok na part ng 2nd molar ko, before placement nung metal crown, she asked me kung nakaramdam ba ko ng pain/pangingilo afterwards, sabi ko hindi. usually daw kasi nakakaramdam ng pain.

ano ba ibig sabihin nun? patay na ba nerve cells of that tooth? e buhay pa naman daw kaya nga she opted for crown rather extraction.

For me hindi naging ok ang result ng rct ko. yes nasave nya yung tooth ko for a couple of years but then after ilang years nag ka problema din. worst, nagkaroon sya ng pus sa loob at kumalat na sa upper portion ng gums ko which is according kay new dentist ay cancerous. my previous dentist daw kasi had something wrong during the RCT and hindi rin ok yung pag kabit ng crown. Good thing na rin na new dentist is honest na hindi na kaya ni tooth na masave pa at kalat na din yung pus. so i have no choice but to have an extraction pero even after extraction sobrang sakit pa din because of the pus. It took almost 2 mos recovery ng extraction ko which normally lasted 2-3weeks lang. Pero ok na din atleast hindi na delikado.medyo nakakailang lang kasi its not really a natural teeth.

pahelp naman po sa mga sis nateng dentist dito. i had RCT 5 years ago with my two fronth tooth. lately my nafefeel akong pain sa left tooth and everytime i drink water i feel pain. what are the alternatives para maayos to? rooth canal extraction lang ba? how much po cost nun? natatakot ako na baka may puss or something na kaya biglang sumasakit ng ganito.

1) Just to clarify, root canal treatment (RCT) is different from extraction.

2) Best to have your tooth seen by a dentist, yung may x-ray sa clinic to see what's going on. They may conduct some tests aside from taking an x-ray (like cold test, heat test and EPT).

3) Depending on the result of the x-ray and tests, possible treatment options would be RCT again (or endodontic retreatment) meaning uulitin yung RCT or if the tooth can't be saved anymore, extraction.

4) Treatment cost: Endodontic retreatment for a single canal ranges from 10k up, depending on the expertise of the dentist na gagawa and how complex the case is.

Would you recommend GAOC for root canal? Mga magkano kaya aabutin dun? Meron kasi akong front tooth sa bandang right na pinapasta ko 3 years ago tapos medyo dark na color compared sa ibang teeth ko. Last xray ng dentist sabi kailangan daw iroot canal at saka crown kasi weak na daw yung ipin. Gusto ko sana ipaayos na sa trusted at magaling na dentist kahit medyo pricey basta okay ang result. Gusto ko na siya gastusan kasi sa harap siya nakakaconscious magsmile.

^Dentists/Clinics have their own specialty, while most practice general dentistry. For instance, GAOC is known for esthetics and implants. While they might have dentists who do RCT, there are others who concentrate on RCT talaga.

Just to give you a tip: When looking for dentists for root canal treatment, check if they are trained in Endodontics or are members of the Endodontic Society of the Philippines.

Dito na ako nagpost kasi my dentist suggest na mag pa RCT. Akala ko once nag pa RCT ok na ngipin basta brush at floss pero subject for extraction din pala after.
