Irritating SAs & Other bad shopping experiences

Me naman, sa isang gadget store, I asked the salesgirl how much yung Samsung Note2. She didn't answer me, she
just pointed at the tag. Sabi ko, ay nagmura na pala or something like bumaba na yung price. I didn't buy it.

I was thinking, mukha ba akong walang 22k? Hehe ugali ko kasi after office, I change into shirt and slippers, kasi nagcocommute lang ako pauwi.

i usually get good service or friendly SA's when I travel but this obnoxious chinese guy at the ysl outlet in bicester village really riled me up. he was so curt, unfriendly and rude towards me when i was asking if there are any available ysl clutches. i really had to say "how rude" out loud for his colleagues to hear.

  Oh my, the SAs in other shops are so nice especially the one in fred perry.  They were so curious about the Philippines.  Kainis lang mga china man in general, they tend to be bastos talaga.

^ yeah, they are usually nice and even the other chinese who works there. that specific guy lang talaga and I haven't seen him before.

on another note, nainis ako yesterday sa isang taga Prestige Decor sa SM Megamall. This gay guy made my Christmas Tree a week ago and I went back a day before the sale to choose items for a swag and wreath na terno sa tree ko. I looked for him and I told him if pwede pagawa. he was enthusiastic naman but then it all changed when I said that I will choose now and come back for it tomorrow kasi sale nga. sayang the discount. his face changed na may ibang mag aassist naman daw sa akin and may customer pa siya. super kaasar! i went to his team mate and siya nag assist sa akin and I told him what happened. i plan to tell their DM about it, papalipas ko lang yung sale.

^Ay, napaka-rude naman ng SA na yun. When my hubby and I went to SM Manila, yung mga nasa Appliance Center at Homeworld Section nila mabait naman. Tapos one time, dapat bibili na kami talaga ng mattress and cabinets pero sabi nung SA sa amin, mas ok daw kung next week kami bibili kasi naka-sale daw. Mag-30% off pa daw yung bibilhin namin. A friend told me na yung matagal nang SAs daw kasi sa Megamall  is like the "pioneer SAs" kaya medyo rude or mayabang sila. Yung mga mababait daw doon, mga newbies daw yun.

Last Friday lang, I've had this bad experience sa isang accessory shop at SM Manila.I was looking for the shop's sterling silver collection na earrings kasi I was planning to buy some. Pero yung guy na SA doon kept tagging behind me. When I touched some of their accessories for closer inspection, todo-silip agad siya. I was so irritated kasi may iba pa naman na customers sa stores pero he kept on tagging behind me. I thought to myself, "Mukha ba akong shoplifter dahil sa dami ng dala kong bags (which happens to contain some of the paperworks I have to read) at dahil ba mas mukhang walang effort ang suot ko kesa sa kanila?"  I just left the store and vowed never to buy from that branch ever again. Isa pa, mas cheap ang tinda nila doon unlike the the other branch which happens to have the authentic silver accessories or even the gold-plated ones. Eh yung branch na yun puro fancy jewelries lang. Buti pa yung isa pa nila branch kasi yung mga SAs followed the "three-minute rule" before asking if they could assist me.

Usually in shops, there are signs if they don't allow you to take selfies/pictures of the clothes while in the changing room. There are none in Mango @ Trinoma. My mom was on a vacation abroad and my kikay sister who adores MNG wanted to show my mom what she'll be getting for a relative's wedding thru viber. As she acted to bring out her phone to take a picture, the SA assigned in the changing room said 'ma'am, bawal ho yan' with irap. I heard this and so I reasoned out, "we'll be buying this naman, don't worry" but she insisted it's still not allowed.

I was very offended because the manner by which it was said was not apologetic at all. And there was no sign anywhere that it's not allowed so how are we supposed to know, right? We ended up buying complete outfits at Zara and Promod na lang. We love Mango and most of my work clothes are from there but i find their customer service a letdown. I don't think I'll ever buy anything again from them soon.

No offense, and not to generalize the Chinese diaspora, but usually kapag Chinese ang salespeople (esp. abroad), hihilahin ka nila usually to but their products. Ganun sila ka-profit-oriented.

Tapos doon sa isang camera shop sa Singapore, gah, this dude wants me to buy something I don't like. It's like the customer knows better than his profit-seeking methods.

Swear, sa Japan na lang siguro ako bibili ng gadget parts and accessories, at least the salespeople there are very accommodating and they will really count your change, thinking that the cost of goods there are fairly high.

^ I agree with Japanese salesperson. My dad told me during their stop at Narita airport in Japan super accomodating daw talaga ng mga salesperson nila yung tipong mapapabili ka sa pagiging patient at accomodating nila sa customer. Lalo na dad ko medyo mahirap i-sales talk yun pero dun namakyaw sya ng watches as gifts.

^ Kaya I won't mind if I choose Bic Camera or Yodobashi as my choice. Super happy that I already have my filter bought there for my lens.

i don't know if pwedeng maisama yung nangyari sa akin sa Krispy Kreme sa Robinson's Place Ermita, I just find it rritating and offending. I was buying donuts to be given to the staff of a facial center where we usually have our treatments. Then lahat ng nakapila before me nagbayad ng tig 1k, at lahat sila agad sinuklian nung staff sa counter. When it was my turn, aba ang tagal akong sinuklian at yung money ko lang ang dinaan nila sa money detector! Hawak na niya un sukli ko pero hindi pa nila binibigay  hanggang hindi dumaan dun sa detector..I asked them kung anong problem at kung may problem ba sa money ko, sabay labas ng tig 1k ulit. Sabi nila wala po.. Then sabay bigay ng sukli. Sa inis ko dinabogan ko silang umalis. nakakainis lang kase sa akin lang nila ginagawa yun buti sana kung yun nauna sakin dinaanan din nila un.  I will never buy from them again.

^ Same sentiments when it comes to eating at restos. Hindi na ako kumain sa Papa John's mainly because one waiter made singit with his fellow waiter.

I got peeved with the Nars SAs of Tang's, Singapore. There were 2 SA's and a customer there. I was there standing and waiting for them to sort of acknowledge me as I had a list of products that I wanted to see before purchasing. Nainip ako so I went to a different counter to and went back when wala ng customer kasi baka busy sila.

When I went back, NR pa din sila so I asked na lang and parang ang NR lang nila when I asked about the products and asked for suggestions and stuff. Nainis ako so I left and purchased from another brand. Sabi ko dun sa other SA na I was supposed to buy from them but they were ignoring me and she was smiling apologetically and said that Nars girls have a certain style and edge.

Good experiences:
Terra & Agua at Shangrila Mandaluyong - Kahit nakailang balik na ako kasi nag decide pa ako if I should buy the red flats, accommodating pa din yung guy SA and hindi naiinis samin ng friend ko. Eventually binili ko din naman pero after a week ata with several visits hihi

Le Clerc at Rustans, Shangrila Mandaluyong - Hindi lang isang girl SA ang natatapatan namin pero very warm and friendly sila. Addict kasi ako sa lipsticks so we keep on swatching and trying it out on our lips. Talagang magbibigay sila ng feedback aling shade mas bagay sayo na hindi naman bola and they give freebies to me every purchase din. So far meron na akong 3 lipsticks from this brand 

Lukewarm experience:
Department store at Cash and Carry Makati - The SAs seem lackluster. Yung iba susundan ka ng susundan kahit idismiss mo with "tumintingin or nagcacanvass lang", yung iba deadma lang.

I went to Promod Greenbelt today because they were on sale.
I was looking around kasi gusto ko muna makita kung ano yung magugustuhan ko. I was carrying 2 bags, a backpack with my laptop on it and a shoulder bag.

Nandun na ako sa rack ng mga dresses and I was looking for a different style of dress na wala pa sa closet ko when an SA appeared beside me. As in ang lapit niya and she looked at me. I looked back. Nung hindi siya umalis, nairita na ako kasi tinititigan niya ako so nailang ako. Kinausap ko siya and told her "babantayan mo talaga ako?" sabay sumagot siya ng "ay hindi po ma'am" at umalis.

Tinawag ko siya nung naghahanap ako ng size tutal pabibo naman siya. Pero nawalan na ako ng gana. I tried the dress pero hindi ko siya gustong gusto. Pero I still bought it to show the girl, I have money to pay for the dress (which I know is not right).

She appeared nung nasa cashier na ako. I want to get her name at ireklamo siya. Nakita ko din na chini-chismis niya ako sa kasama niya who smiled at me pero dahil inis na ako, I didn't smile back na kahit wala siyang kasalanan saken.

Maayos naman yung damit ko kasi papasok pa ako at kahit ba naka shorts or tshirt or slippers lang ako, wala pa din naman karapatan yung mga SA dun to judge me based on what I was wearing. Marami kasing ganyan dito sa Pinas.

That's why mas gusto ko pa din mag shop sa SM Makati - F21 at H & M and Cotton On at Glorietta 5 and Greenbelt.

I also had a good shopping experience in HK, walang sumusunod sunod. At hindi nakaka intimidate pumasok sa mga high-end stores.

I experienced this in Aeropostale Glorietta 5. I was looking for a shirt sana kasi papalitan ko damit ko sobrang basa ng pawis sa init sa labas. I dont know if SA sya or guard. boy sya. ang laki ng katawan nya panay sunod sakin na tipong magnanakaw ako! tinignan ko ng masama bago ko lumabas hindi na din ako bumili sa sobrang irita ko! sa iba nalang ako bumili ng damit

one time sa ace hardware sa sm cubao, pagbayad ko sa cashier, tinanong ako kun gmay smaller bill daw ako. 1k kasi yung pera ko tapos mga php200 ang babayaran ko. sabi ko wala akong barya, si hubby kasi nasa department store at 1k ang binigay sa akin na pera. di din naman niya kasi alam kung ano ang bibilhin ko. so sabi ko sa cashier ay walang barya, sagutin ba naman ako ng "ay walang akong pansukili dyan eh" buti na lang okay ang mood ko at ang nasabi ko lang ay "so hindi na ako pwedeng bumili?" tapos sinabi nung bagger sa kanya na suklian niya. papatulan ko dapat talaga siya eh. buti nakapagtimpi ako. nasuklian din naman niya ako. nangsira lang ng araw.

Asar na asar din ako sa ganyan mga walang panukli. Nagtinda pa tapos wala naman pala panukli. Tsk.
One time, bumili kami sa Cookies Unlimited sa Megamall ng 2 Lace Cookies nila. Since wala kami exact amount to pay, 500 yung binigay ko. Kaso as usual wala daw sya panukli to think na that's around 7pm na that time hindi sya yung tipong kabubukas lang in the morning na wala pa talagang benta and the total amount we need to pay was 300+ tapos wala pa din panukli for the 500??? Ang super nakakainis pa was as in wala syang balak gawan ng paraan kung pano nya kami susuklian na parang kami pa dapat yung maghanap at gumawa ng paraan para magpabarya para bigyan sya ng exact amount. In the end, hindi kami nakabili. Nakabwisit since nagccrave kami dun sa cookies lalo na yung kids ko tapos ganun. May pera ka pambili pero hindi ka makabili dahil wala sila panukli. Grabe!!! Nasungitan ko tuloy ng sobra si Ate isinumbong ko din sa may-ari. Buti na lang they make it up, dineliver na lang nila sa bahay yung cookies w/o additional charge kahit super late at night na hinabol talaga nilang madeliver and they said they will reprimand yung staff nila. Ewan lang kung may nangyari talaga. Tsk. Di na kami umulit bumili ulit... Sya pa din yung nagbebenta e. Nakabadtrip si Ate.

Sis, I also experienced this sa Aero Glo. Babae naman yung sumunod saken. Ang ginawa ko pumunta ako sa pinakadulo. Umikot ikot ako, hahaha. Hindi din ako bumili. My mom also had the same experience, since then hindi na ako pumapasok dun. Never na ulit kameng bumili.

I haven't had any bad SA experiences in such a long time pero kairita talaga mga SAs who stalk you around with no regard for personal space. Yung literal halos maamoy ka na nila sa sobrang lapit. I'm usually nice to staff but whenever they do that to me, natatarayan ko talaga and I would tell them to leave me alone cus I would call them if I need help.

Two acquaintances who are married to caucasian men had bad experiences with SA's in SM a long time ago. Iyong isa, pinaparinggan siya na pangit siya and ano nakita sa kanya ng asawa. Inaway niya and tinawag manager. The other one naman hindi pinapansin ng SA pero asawa niya kinakausap. Sabi niya sa SA bigyan siya ng 10 pairs ng pants and said to her asawa ko nilalandi mo.

What I really hate about SA's in the Philippines is they look at you from head to toe then whisper at each other.

Meron din naman customers na bastos, I saw one shouting at the cashier in Landmark calling her t**** for a simple mistake. I was inside Kashieca when this couple let their kids run around the store, play with stocks, etc. without telling their kids to stop. I glared at this kid laying down on one of the tshirts I was checking. Doon lang pinahinto ng nanay paglalaro nila. Akala ko aawayin ako but I was ready anyway to fight back.
